I don't agree with you. For any team, the first goal is usually winning the title in the league and no matter how important is to earn money for them, I mean why they need the money and how they use the money. Dortmund is a team that usually grows young talents and uses the players to sell them and make money. But the first goal is still to win the title in Bundesliga.
No matter how rich they can be by selling players, still they are earning money to reach their goals.

If Dortmund's goal was to win the title, they wouldn't have sold the best players in the squad every season. But running the club definitely requires money. But if Dortmund's goal was to win the title, the management would have tried to make the squad stronger. But we don't see that. Dortmund builds a squad with young players every season. And tries to make money by selling these players at higher prices in the future. They didn't do that every season when the goal was to win the title.
