What about "Putin killed him because of what he did in June"...is that even a possibility in your fantasy world? Or did you rule that one out as soon as the rest of the world started making that guess.
All Putin and Progozin did in June is to have a good laugh about what simpletons and chumps you guys are.
For added lulz, they labeled Prigozin a 'wanted insurrectionist' or whatever so that when anyone pitched a bitch about Russia's actions anywhere, Putin could just shrug and say it's a Wagner thing and "We feel your pain."
Effectively, in your universe there is no space for the most likely explanation: Prigo starts taking too much public light and credit, Shoigu & company start getting nervous and to make it worse Prigo keeps criticising them publicly, even with some references to "the grandpa".
The military convince Putin to force Wagner's to sign normal army contracts, which effectively means the dissolution of Wagner. Prigo is not happy and makes a show of force (nothing like a coup). This does not fall well in the Kremlin. They agree going to Bieloruzzia, but Putin is not paying the wages nor probably the money that is due from the business in other countries.
Prigo flies to Moscow, there is no agreement and as he flees out, a couple of S-300 solve the problem.
But ... that is not possible. The guy has to be alive, this has to be a psi-op, the MI6 killed him... dude, get real. Everything is possible, but the simples explanation tends to be the explanation.
That's why he HAS a universe, and you don't.

This week Ukraine touted that its forces destroyed a S-400 defense system in Crimea, and further that special operatives conducted an amphibious landing Wednesday night, and safely returned from the mission.
