I also believe that Newcastle can't be a title contender. That is too much for them now. They don't have a qualified squad to make it there. I remember how Chelsea managed to win the Champions League title with Tuchel although their squad quality was worse than teams like Real Madrid, Manchester City.

However Newcastle's squad quality isn't as good as Chelsea's firstly. Secondly they don't have as much experience as Chelsea in this tournament. They aren't as big as them in short. They don't have a mentality that is as strong as Tuchel's Chelsea either now.

Considering all of this the biggest achievement they can get is to qualify for next round in my opinion.

Well that is what the odds are, right? It is not very likely that Newcastle has a chance to win this title, but it wouldn't be the first time that a big surprise happens. Now I also don't think that there is a chance that Newcastle will play the final, but frankly I didn't think that Inter Milan would be a finalist last season either.

The list of finalists from the past is interesting as the last one that was really a surprise was in 2003-04 when Porto played against Monaco. It wasn't just one team, it was both teams who were never expected to reach that final.

Of course nothing can be taken for granted. However I believe in this scenario because of especially their performance so far. They have started the Premier League really poorly. They won against Brentford the last time maybe but it was a pretty hard-fought 1-0 win. Therefore it is hard to believe in them even for achieving a good thing in the Premier League.

There is an example like Chelsea won this title in the 2020/21 season too while they weren't one of the favoured teams for the title. However they finished the Premier League in 4th place at the same time. I don't know if Newcastle can make that improvement.
