I'm surprised about his still maintaining his job. Especially after Newcastle was bought by rich people I thought they would replace him with a well-known manager. But there is no such action yet.

They played good football like Manchester United in the first season and they lost the finals against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup Competition and they also finished fourth position that same season.
It's totally different this season, no  fourth position, no finals and also, they was knocked out of the champions league during group stage competitions...

I think Eddie Howe is excusable to keep his position as the manager, because Newcastle was having a biggest injuries issue that hindered them to maintain their performance throughout the season. It's fair to not blame the manager for the underperformances compared to the season before. I think it's good for football when a rich team don't solely depend on money to improve their team.

I think it was unlucky for Newcastle to lose against Manchester United in that final, because they had to play the game with Loris Karius as the goalkeeper due to the suspension of their first-choice goalkeeper and the ineligible of the second-choice goalkeeper as he was loanee from Manchester United. Finishing outside of the top four shouldn't be a failure for Newcastle this season with the circumstance of injuries, the ban on Tonali also took impact on the balance in midfield.
