I won't advise investing in bitcoin without knowing it. Why should you jump on something about which you don't have proper knowledge? To know Bitcoin, you don't need too much time lately. Because of Internet connectivity, it's very easy to learn something we need. So gaining some knowledge before investing in Bitcoin is advisable. You can invest in your savings and avoid the high risk of losing your funds. If you treat Bitcoin as an investment opportunity only, then how will you learn the technical part of Bitcoin? Without knowing everything you need, you can't make the right decision in real time.

I believe when people say that you don't need knowledge or in the right way, when they say you don't need too much knowledge before ever getting started in your bitcoin investment, what they mean is that you don't need to get too complex in trying to know too much before you start investing in Bitcoin. Like he said, what you practically need is a wallet, an exchange and then the fund, when You've create the wallet and you already have an exchange you can buy your Bitcoin through and you have the money you've set out for your DCA or for whatever methord you've choosed to work with, the rest is just secondary that can come while you're already buying and when you talk about knowing how to buy your Bitcoin, it's nit as though it's all too complex for someone to learn, you can just learn it in a day and get all the foundational safety knowledge about your seed phrase and your wallet security.

You will certainly keep learning about a lot of other things while you're up and doing in your accumilation routine but dwelling too much on learning without getting started will almost look like a total waste of time and effort. I think you are wrong. You can't say no knowledge is required to Start investing in bitcoin. Saying no knowledge required means you don't totally need to lean anything about bitcoin to start investing and that is not totally true. Even if you are using wallet and exchange which you made references to, you will still need to learn how to send and receive bitcoin from it. Meaning you need basic skill about bitcoin to start using it and not saying we don't need no knowledge to invest.

you know most people believe that through this space they can easily get rich quick, which normally triggered their greed which eventually affect the way they think , that is most people still continue to risk their money in various shitcoins. when i was new to this space i also have such crazy mindset thinking that i can easily get rich quick through this space. and that mindset did not do me any good instead i endup losing countless time because at them i was literally focusing on random shitcoins, and it left a scar.

but now i have learned alot of things in this space and one of those lesson is that this is not aplace on can get rich quick, one need to his time to understand how things work, like for instance investing in bitcoin is one of the life changing thing have done in this space, and anytime i look how far have gone it always  put a big smile on my face, though i still have long way to go in my accumulation. but i believe as time goes on with consistency i will surely hit my accumulation goal (my fuck off status).

I don't know why some people still see altcoin as a must investment, although individuals with their decisions but if am to advise, as far as Bitcoin is still in existence, going for altcoin investment is not a good idea, altcoins are not reliable, there are many projects littered everywhere and the developer's looking for whom to defraud.
I somuch agree with you that investing in altcoin seems to be like gambling because your money can vanish without trace, sometimes I feel that greed and the mindset of making quick money is the main reason why people chose to invest in altcoin and this idea has caused discouragement among investors based on their experience and also make  some people to start their investment plans afresh because of loss of funds, I wish people will just concentrate on Bitcoin to continue building their portfolio.
In the knowledge aspect, what every investor need is the basic knowledge of Bitcoin investment to enable the investor  know the things to do in terms the best wallet for holding, other concepts of the investment can be learned in the system.

Even with the idea of learning first as you wrote it’s advisable you don’t take forever learning and end up not buying, the price of bitcoin is unpredictable so personally I view bitcoin price as a chance or probably an opportunity to buy and hold, learning about bitcoin and investing can be done at same time. Secondly if referring to altcoins I will advice you avoid altcoins and from my view all altcoins fall into the category of shitcoins and you might end up not making any profit with the pump and dumb scheme, bitcoin is totally different and safe for investing for both newbies or experienced investors.

This thread is only for bitcoin and not shitcoins because I don't classify shitcoins as investment since most of them are being hyped in other to decieve people that it is to invest in them and they will be rug pulled. They are all duplicate of bitcoin and are controlled by bitcoin price movement to show you how inferior they are. You don't need to bother yourself to research on them but just ignore them so that you don't get distracted.

Stay focus only on bitcoin amd how to grow and increase your bitcoin stash by investing with a certain amount every week or month without missing it, and if can do that for a very long time like 4-10 years, your mind will be at rest with what you have accumulated because bitcoin has come to stay and that is why you see institutions and ETFs investing in bitcoin even El Salvador has their reserve currency in bitcoin.

Altcoins will disappear into thin air as time passes by and one funny thing with them is that you can wake up one money and your portfolio has gone to zero. Invest wisely and start crying later when you run at loss for thinking because only bitcoin has the potential to be called an investment.

I agree with you, shitcoins are not good and is not advised for someone to invest in them, shitcoins are created by people who wants to make profit by other people's investment, and I will advise we don't discuss shitcoins in this thread anyone supporting shitcoins and advising anyone to invest in them is trying to promote scam and people's downfall, I see shitcoins as a Ponzi scheme which have destroyed a lot of people by it's scam.
The reason why I'm saying all these is because I have seen a lot of people shitcoins has destroyed and put into depression and I have come to the notice through my research that people that are creating shitcoins are using it to make money for themselves and a lot of them has gotten rich through it.

There was one shitcoin created by one music star which a lot of people especially his fan invested into and the coin started growing, what the creator did was to sell all his accumulated share and made million of dollars, why those that invested on it lost there money reasoning being that when the creator with the highest number of share withdrawed all his shared at once the coin dropped in value and later lost value.
A lot of people fall victim to all this shitcoins because they believe they will make quick money and that Bitcoin is slow in it's growth, however like they say patience is a virtue, there's no need risking your money in shitcoins, Bitcoin is still growing and will keep growing because it has not reached half of it's growth level so investing in Bitcoin is the best investment in crypto because it gives you peace of mind no fear of you losing your money, all you need is patience in other to succeed and grow in Bitcoin.

It seems to me that you don't understand the meaning of what you are saying. How can you be asking from expirenced crypto holders? Did you really know what experience crypto holders mean? For the benefit of doubt cryto holders from my experience mean expirenced mean shitcoin holders. And that is not what we are talking about here. When making preference you should consider a potential coin like bitcoin instead of contradicting the whole situation.

Altcoin is not necessary at this point in time. Bitcoin should be what we should be thinking of right now because it's the future of blockchain technology. Only bitcoin is worth investing in because as long as you are investing constantly with DCA weekly or monthly and hodli for a very long time, you will not run at loss or will your portfolio depreciate overtime. Altcoins are shitcoins and don't worth investing in because you will end up at big loss since majority of their dev only created them to scam people of their hard earned money through pump and dump.

Why would you go and invest in a project that you need to start making a lot of research that you will end up not getting any valid information on how to go about it. Shitcoin is a centralized coin and at anytime it can be manipulated and they don't have history. Bitcoin is king because of its decentralized nature, only invest in bitcoin with ease and rest of mind by only buying bitcoin with part of your discretionary income that will not affect t your monthly expenses for a very long time so that you can build a d grow your investment portfolio overtime. Bro I really don't understand what you mean by doing research before investing into alt coin, so that you would not invest in shit coin, so I want to ask you a question, is alt coin even an option? When their is Bitcoin? You really needs to understand that investing your hard earned money on alt coin is like gambling just as shit coin, so stop making it looks as if alt coin is an option or even better, in my own perspective Bitcoin is the only reliable digital asset to invest in, in this crypto space, so it's better you don't even give in to the thought of investing in alt coin.

Concerning doing research, yes it's quite good, but you don't need much knowledge of Bitcoin for you to start your Bitcoin accumulating journey, you can start accumulating it through the DCA accumulating strategy once you know how to go about it, then later seek more knowledge about Bitcoin later on while still accumulating, because knowledge is very much important in life, not just in this crypto space.

It is very important for newbies to ask questions from experienced crypto holders and learn to carry out research before buying any cryptocurrency including Bitcoin. It is very necessary so that they will not make avoidable mistakes of not knowing the importance of securing their private keys and understanding that there are many scam projects in the crypto market. Although Bitcoin is safe to buy and hodl but altcoins requires both newbies and experienced people to research any altcoins that they want to buy, to avoid investing in shitcoins. Many new projects are being launched into the market so every investors needs to research first before buying so that they will not be bag holders of dead coins.

This happens to most of the new investors, they spend unnecessary time on investing and looking for dips and investment decisions at first. I think one should not waste time to start investing or depositing in Bitcoin and should start with immediate decision and start with DCA which gives him opportunity to review the market comprehensively from time to time. If one wants to continue depositing bitcoins, his will power and mindset to manage for a long time is enough. To sustain DCA for a long period of time the asset is required such as floating cash that he can set aside from his alternative income.

Personally I also feel that I should have started DCA earlier and should have had more holdings if I could have started from the time I spent on education. It's normal to have shortfalls in investment but I would say especially in Bitcoin investment don't waste your time and start depositing from today regardless of price. Waiting for dips means you are taking a step back from your Bitcoin holdings.

Honestly I started my bitcoin accumulation journey without having much knowledge on how bitcoin work and stuff, aslong I know the right wallet to store bitcoin is a non custodial wallet I started my accumulating journey but as time goes on I started learning new things on how bitcoin work  and how to hold and secure a smooth investment and buy the Dip and HODL thread help me alot in that aspects, what am trying to say is that one don't have to waste time going for knowledge first when it comes to bitcoin aslong he or she know the right wallet to use and how to purchase bitcoin via exchanges he or she is good to go and as time goes they may decide to focus on gaining more knowledge while they accumulate and hodl Bitcoin.

So that one won't endup regretting why he or she didn't start accumulating on time .

What I meant by newbies should do some research is that some newbies lack basic knowledge about bitcoin. If they don’t accumulate knowledge about bitcoin before investing, some might end up losing their investment because they don’t know the appropriate wallet to use in storing their bitcoin, they don’t know how to secure their private key, some don’t even know reputable places to get bitcoin from and other basic things which they should know. Some newbies just see some advertisements about bitcoin on social media, and they will pick interest in it, and we all know we are not supposed to trust or follow most of the videos we see on social media because some of them are scammers. That’s why I do recommend that newbies do research before investing.
 
If they invest first before doing research, before they get to understand something’s, it might already be late. Some newbies might see some Ponzi scheme that will require people to deposit bitcoin on a particular site as an investment. A newbie without knowledge might end up falling for tricks like this.

For me, it seems that an overwhelming majority of newbie investors would not be able to reach their BTC accumulation goal in ONLY 4 years, unless they are already investing in other things at the time that they come to bitcoin, so then they are able to reallocate into bitcoin, so frequantly those folks who might have accumulation goals that are only in the lower end of the range of even only 12 cycle or 2 cycles, they are likely going to have had an ability to front loaded their investment in order to reach such accumulation goals. 

But, yeah, no matter what your abilities, it seems quite prudent to have plans from the beginning to be investing into bitcoin for at least a whole cycle, even though surely there are folks who strive to trade rather than to invest, even if they might be calling what they are doing as investing, which is hard to imagine anyone considering themselves as an actual investor with less than a whole cycle as their timeline to stay in bitcoin.

I believe that this particular thread is not for ONLY investors, so there are going to be some members with trading mindsets that contribute to this thread and they are not going to automatically be off topic by wanting to trade bitcoin rather than to invest into it, and so that is their choice, yet some of the traders try to present their trading ideas as if they were no brainer better ways to go about exposure to bitcoin, and it seems to me that many of them are likely going to end up doing worse than investors who retain a mindset of bitcoin accumulation rather than trying to fuck around with getting in and out of bitcoin and hoping that they are able to buy low and sell high and even believing that they are going to be able to buy back lower than their sell price... and so maybe many of them will end up having regrets for their selling too many too soon and ending up with fewer bitcoin than they wished that the would have had with the same amount of capital that a longer term investor ended up using to accumulate bitcoin, and sometimes it is way better to end up having a higher cost per bitcoin if you end up having more bitcoin because you were spending your time, money and energies to accumulate bitcoin rather than fucking around with trying to strategize your entry point. which ends up putting you into the wrong mindset in regards to appreciating the value of bitcoin as a long term investment.   


You can always find examples of people who bought low and sold high and they might have even been able to buy back bitcoin at a lower price after selling it.

But that still seems to be a BIG ass distraction, and hopefully you are not so short-sighted to fail to recognize the value of bitcoin and the value of mostly accumulating it rather than fucking around with trying to trade it.. but hey, whatever, you can do what you like and you can admire anyone you like.. which seems dumb to be admiring traders/gamblers.. even though surely those guys like to brag about their various gains, and yeah they might even be lucky 7 out of 10 times.. for a while. .but it is difficult to consistently win in such a way that would even out earn a BTC accumulation strategy that does not involve so much gambling and/or being out of the BTC market when you should be in the market.


Hopefully you recognize the value of mostly accumulating BTC, and selling does not seem like an accumulation strategy, even though some folks believe that selling is an accumulation strategy, which may work for them, until it doesn't.. .and yeah, guys can do whatever they like, including selling too many BTC too soon, and waiting for BTC price drops that may or may not end up happening.  There are still guys waiting for BTC to drop into the $40ks because of all of the recent scares, and yeah, there are probably a decent number of them contemplating whether to buy back in or just continue to wait for price dips that may or may not happen,  and meantime the BTC accumulator is just regularly buying, whether weekly or otherwise, and the BTC accumulator is ongoingly making progress in terms of ongoingly increasing his BTC stash, which seems to be a preferable way of approaching an asset as valuable as bitcoin.


It seems pretty short-term to think about bitcoin in terms of mere dollar profits, yet of course, 15, 20 30 or more years down the road when a guy might start to shave off his bitcoin for spending, then presumptively it is going to be in profits, so it may or may not matter that in the first 4-10 years, the bitcoin might have been in profits.. and at a certain point, maybe even after a whole cylce there is an expectation that the BTC holdings will be in profits, but even after a whole cycle, it still may well be the case that the bitcoin holdings are not even close to large enough in terms of both the amount that had been put in nor the amount that the coins had appreciated, so if there is an assessment of the overall value of the holdings, hopefully considering the value in terms of 200-WMa (bottom price) rather than spot price (which may or may not end up having some top prices in there), then there may be some kinds of sustainable withdrawal plans that make more sense than  other possible plans, and there might not be a lot of focus on how much in profits the holdings are, but instead figuring out ways to either start to withdraw in time based ways (monthly) and/or perhaps price based ways in which certain amounts of BTC are sold at various points when the BTC price goes up to certain price points... but if the BTC holdings are enough, there surely may be quite a bit of flexibility in the ways that sustainable withdrawal is carried out in such a way that only portions of the BTC holdings are sold at any given time... and so mostly the holdings stay intact, and presumptively they are not only profitable, but they could be many times more valuable than the amount invested and presumptively keeping up in value in terms of real value rather than nominal value (so accounting for the likely ongoing debasement of fiat currencies).


Personally, I think newbies should get started rather than wasting time researching.  They can learn as they go, but just get the fuck started rather than fucking around with various waiting strategies, including but not limited to researching... when the ONLY thing they really need to know to get started is whether they have discretionary income or not.  If they have discretionary income then they can start buying bitcoin. If they do not have discretionary income or they are not sure if they have discretionary income, then they have to make sure they have discretionary income before starting to invest in bitcoin...so that they are investing rather than gambling.

I don't think newbies need so much knowledge to start investing in bitcoin, just the basic knowledge of how to buy and how to safely secure their bitcoin against loss is all they need to get started. If you are advising them not to buy now, that means most of them might have to think that they need some sort of complex technical knowledge before buying bitcoin. By the way it depends on what the intention of the newbie is, that is if the buy is just to cash in on the quick gains bitcoin is making now or if the intention is to buy and hold for longer period. If for quick gains, then it is not advisable because they might lose money when the gain does not come as quickly as they expect. But for long term investment, now is a good time to enter the market for newbies, they can start investing already while learning more about bitcoin and the technology behind it.
