This is more like an instruction on how to bring yourself to a situation of huge losses in gambling. I don't see at all how these things will help you draw any useful conclusions to avoid such losses in the future. Well, you will forget about the loss for a while, you will create artificial conditions for yourself to distract yourself. But there will be no long-term benefit from this.

But they are much more practical than OP's advice and I believe that even if people are discussing the philosophies OP mentions but no one will implement them. It's men's nature, when they are stuck they will often turn to alcohol, girls...or any other pleasure and that will help them relieve everything quickly .
Only women find these things pointless and useless, but as men , I believe any of us have tried one of these things when feeling stuck in life and the effectiveness it brings.
But you are right , this is not a long term solution but at least it will help us in the short term .
