I may be overreacting, but Xi released some more soft “threats” about unification today. Might just be some more posturing as Trump enters office, but BTC hasn’t been tested in major wartime yet. Lots of things at play here, an isolated invasion of Taiwan will be brutal enough to the global economy, but I can see global conflict spiraling out of control if this happens.

This isn’t the politics board so I don’t want to get too deeper about this. But I do think this is unlikely to happen or at least this year (2025). Unlike whatever these leaders are saying, they actually don’t want to start a war especially with a nation that is capable of fighting back anyway. As per major wartime, Israel has been in war with Palestine for I don’t even know how long now. It didn’t cause world war III but neither China v Taiwan will. So, I don’t think we need to worry about it escalating too much.
Perhaps a Taiwan conflict might stunt the growth of the crypto industry? Perhaps less of an appetite to fund a strategic reserve, perhaps people turning to Gold, perhaps people divesting from risk on assets?
If Taiwan were to be attacked, god forbid, I don’t think crypto will be that affected. Neither China and Taiwan are very big on crypto so whatever happens in both countries won’t be the end of bitcoin as they’re not widely associated with it anyway
