Newbies can post images if they buy Copper Membership. The inability to post images for newbies is a limitation and not a restriction; there is a slight difference between the two.

So aside the fact that it might discourage growth of new users,it will make it difficult for people to plead their case when they cant post URLs.

I never suggested that they shouldn't be allowed to do it at all, but I suggested that they should be allowed only after they spend at least a few hours in the forum, and this is only to prevent people from misusing the ability to create a brand new account and post links or anything they want with it without any restrictions or requirements.
