This draw is certainly very much hoped for by Espanyol considering that in this match they were actually not dominant in terms of ball possession or other aspects, they were only able to take 8 kicks, only 4 of which were on target. This is different from Girona who managed to release 18 kicks, only 4 of which were on target, but their goals were scored from the penalty spot. This draw also makes Espanyol slowly move away from the relegation zone, currently they are only two points behind Alaves who are in 18th place in the standings.

Letting go of Artem Dovbyk has costed a lot to Girona and it's not a surprise at all. There had been unpredictable rise of underdogs teams in the history that came and won or challenged the title for one season and fell the next season. A strange combination of a few players and strategy could give unprecedented results but when one piece from it is moved, it would fail to perform as a team.
As for Girona and Espanyol, between them, Espanyol is struggling more to stay out of relegation zone and it would an achievement for them if they be able to do so.
