It doesn't need more awareness.

No awareness campaign ever changed behaviors, IMO. Only when people themselves feel the pain or see others they love and respect change, do they change.

I completely disagree with this. What you are missing here is that when these things happen, people will be too broke to even think about or afford Bitcoin. The more likely scenario is that they become homeless and potentially even die before they even see enough satoshis to fix the mistake of not having any to begin with.

Some people have no idea how bitcoin works, how to store it, so how can they accept it in their business or convert their wages to it without inducing themselves with anxiety or opening themselves up to vulnerability?

Why are we going for extremes anyway Smiley Just normal people don't make good financial decisions without going broke or homeless, and even after knowng about Bitcoin they don't exactly change their behaviors. In fact, without changing behaviors they end up going all in and risk busting during the bear. Just like the many stories in 2017 and 2021 people borrowing money to invest in BTC and then bankrupt doing interest payments.

Debt is slavery. I would be certain that if a survey were to be done on the population about why they own no Bitcoin, the majority of the result would be related to the debt obligations that they are more than likely struggling to keep up with. This alongside supporting family or children. My point here is that change of behavior might be desired though not possible for some.

And this is the thing about new tech. I can tell you 99% of business owners who accept virtual payments or have eshops have 0 idea about how it works. And they still do it.

Wouldn't that be increasing the odds of making a technical mistake or a preventable loss dramatically higher?

Awareness is never my favorite method, in any thing. People know, but people don't care. You have to make them care. And that is by behavior campaigns. Or awareness on the status quo (why your money is not safe with banks, or investing in your nations funds etc).

We can agree on that education is important, definitely.

It doesn't need more awareness.

You know its like recycling or cleanliness. People know, so its not like they don't know the world is polluted or the ocean animals will die if you throw garbage on the street. They just don't care.

You want people to care, you literally have to start making them feel the pain.

Make their currency worthless. Make it that Visa or card or bank payments are slow and expensive.

If you are business owner, start accepting Bitcoin. If you are consumer start asking businesses if you can pay in Bitcoin.

No awareness campaign ever changed behaviors, IMO. Only when people themselves feel the pain or see others they love and respect change, do they change.

I disagree with both of you in different ways. Slaman is wrong because he thinks that people know, and he has a very wrong understanding what it means to know something. Do you know quantum physics if you have heard the definition and know some basics? No. Most people do not know about Bitcoin, hearing the word is not knowing it. Even fewer people understand Bitcoin. If they knew and understood, they would be here. Don't confuse lack of knowledge with lack of care. It would require a very biased and stubborn person to refuse Bitcoin even when you understand it. There is no other freedom from the monetary slavery system. And for you, anyone can afford Bitcoin who isn't living near the poverty limits in the west. Again this relates to knowledge, if you know basic divisibility then you know you can buy Bitcoin. How many hundreds of millions are paying for Spotify or Netflix, they all can afford Bitcoin.

Good points. I think that people don't care about what they don't know or struggle to understand. I do agree that people can cut out conveniences and entertainment like netflix to put into Bitcoin, but if they don't know what it is, truly understand its important, where it can go and what it could mean for their life in the long term, they won't make the sacrifice.

Just buy it through an ETF if you can't educate yourself enough or don't trust yourself to do it safely.

Trusting the very institutions that Bitcoin was designed to cut out should be a temporary solution at most.
