I wouldn't say that gambling is not a good thing. If a person realizes the risks and has good discipline, then, in this case, gambling can be just a hobby without negative consequences.
But at the same time, if a person has a strong addiction, it does not lead to anything good in any kind of activity, not only in gambling.

Would you say the same for drugs like heroin? If used in very small amounts it is isn't a bad thing? Because it is very similar. Gambling is a very dangerous activity, and we definitely can't call it a good thing. Cheesy

Indeed. People who can control themselves are unlikely to become addicted since they can gamble in moderation. If you have discipline and aware of what you are getting into (on how gambling works) then you won't set a high expectation to win.

You said high expectation to win, but it is also wrong. With knowledge about gambling and discipline you may play but only with no expectation to win. Having any expectation already increases the danger a lot. It will make each result more emotional and draw you to play more.
