Any time I see this particular statement I just laugh because na typical newbie behavior in trading be that, in the spot market.
In the spot market, where you buy the token, nai go determine how profitable you go be, but you fail to follow the number one rules of the spot market, which is buying low and selling high, on your own case, you dy buy at the top and sell in panic when the value of the coin don depreciate, but that's by the way.

you know one thing about buying and holding altcoin is that when it price goes down, you can not really be too certain that it will later come up again. you can end up waiting and then the price goes down and does not come up again. in other instance, after waiting, the price can still come up again. what you choose to do in either of those situation is what matters most but then, either selling at a loss that is not much or waiting and eventually realizing that the value of the coin is even going down the more is another situation that can possibly happen.

patience is only good when you are dealing with bitcoin that you are at least certain that you are investing in for the long term. any short term investment should be done with an high level of certainty in terms of how long you are going to wait before selling it. selling too early is bad and selling too late is equally bad depending on what happens afterwards. what matters most with altcoin is knowing what time is the best time that you can sell and sticking to it.
