Did somebody expect that pre-market will exist before it happens? Did somebody expect that IDO/ICO will exist before it happens. There might be something different that will happen in the future, but one thing's for sure. Just like in the other ones, there will be some projects that will become successful, but most of them will end up either being a dead project, a failed project (for various reasons), or a scam project.

As much as we are focusing on the negative side of those, let's not forget that there are some projects that became successful with those sales methods. Prime example of these are Ethereum and Binance coin where they started as an ICO, and look where they at right now. I can't remember any popular projects that started as an IEO, STO, or IDO though, but I believe there are successful ones that started on that method. The worst might be the pre-market, because it seems like there is no popular project out there that started as a pre-market one and became successful.
