We can't blame him! They offered him five times his annual salary! Anyone would have accepted. We must always remember that this sport is a job for them, and players go where they are offered the most. I understand that the allure of the Saudi Arabian championship is not in the least comparable to that of Serie A or any other European championship, But they have money! Lots of money! And they get everything.
This is a very logical decision. We don't know yet whether his career with Atalanta will still be as good, considering Atalanta's overall performance with the squad. Well, Mategui's salary is clear here, and he could earn a lot of money. And if he wants to return to Europe, his contract only runs until June 30, 2028, at Al-Qadsiah, and he's still only 29 years old if I'm not mistaken. Since his profile is still good, he could still become a partner of the European club.
