I take it that it was a chance for them to win something, not knowing how the rest of the season would turn out for them but, I frankly didn’t see Liverpool loosing this one, not even holding the game to a penalty shootout. When it comes down to a penalty, the game could pretty much go either way, it’s a 50:50 chance and some goalkeeper perfection.
Crystal Palace did so well how they handled the game and even in the shootout.
Don’t know what this would mean for Liverpool going into this season but, it doesn’t put them in a good shape.
I didn't watch this match but I knew Liverpool wouldn't win easily so I just bet on Liverpool in the first half and yeah it works. You know somehow Liverpool can't be relied on in competitions like this their performance declined drastically but the situation is different if it is an EPL or UCL match. For next season I still believe that Liverpool will be one of the contenders to win the title the result of today's match will have no impact, imo.
Many people have high expectations for Liverpool because they have new players with the label of expensive player but they forget that these new players need to adapt and sometimes it's not easy to get into the rhythm of game at the start of the season.
