I think long term varies for everyone, to some it might not even be up to a year and others might be looking at 5 to 10 years or maybe even more. Like you said hodling for a long period of time has it's risks but remember that it also has it's rewards as well. Volatility is a constant dynamic in that crypto market, waiting for several years can give you generational wealth and there's also a probability that it can go through a dip. Two years is what I consider long term investment for me. And that is a very long time, maybe because I am counting it in number of days and not the number of years it self. And you know that bitcoin is fastpaced. You can make a lot of life changing money in bitcoin within the space of the two years. Any investment that can at least last a two year of holding should be profitable, also for those interested to invest and go to this extent or even more using the same approach, then can targeted at buying the dip and holding, this is more advisable to do, because it will not be more interesting when after we buy at high them the market begins to fall, instead its more better that we buy at every dip and continue to hold until we are profitable.

Unfortunately we are not talking about those Alt coins that are only feasible to yield good profits for investors in the short period of hyping times and later get dumped for the rest of it. Bitcoin has shown sustainable values over the past 15 years of it existence so, it is a stress talking about assets that can hold a lest two years of sustainability here. Bitcoin is either not a get rich quick but in all, to explore in bitcoin investment you must have to be patient if not holding for the long time even while buying at the dip or every other accumulating strategies that may suit your comfort.
