I received one defective cube as well. 3 of 4 DC/DC down. The cube hashes at about 7Mh/s in bfgminer. The other three cubes are working flawlessly around 75Mh/s each.

It seems as if this problem is widespread. Do you think KnC has manufactured numerous cubes and shipped 3 winners and 1 loser to each of their customers?

After starting out very positive it ends 8 pages later like this:

The status of my two Titans has also changed in the absence of updates. Two of the cubes where a single die had failed now have two dies failed and as a result are running at half speed. One of the cubes that had been running well is now showing the same deterioration that leads to complete failure in a matter of days.

I understood that KNC would want to go through a troubleshooting process before issuing a RMA. I offer phone support in my work, am familiar with the process and fully expected it. In anticipation I provided KNC with details regarding my troubleshooting to speed up the process. In my employment I troubleshoot industrial electrical and electronic systems. I am not green when it comes to solving problems and I had covered everything that could be done without using high end diagnostic equipment designed for the job.

The sum total of KNCs recommendations were to push in the pci-e cables properly. In fact they told me this twice in separate e-mails. My response to them was to explain that my custom quality pci-e cables each came with a clasp on the male connector. That this clasp makes an audible click when inserted into the female as it clasps the rear of the connector: once heard it was virtually impossible for the connector to not be plugged in correctly. I followed their instructions removed each connector, stared at it and replaced it until the previously heard click repeated. My problems were not cured.

When making these recommendations they stated that if this did not fix my problem cubes that they would be happy to proceed with the RMA process. Finally they issued the threat. Every miner here will understand this statement and I will quote it. as you can likely imagine we are extremely busy at this stage and we are doing further checks on the boards to determine the root cause of the issue. I cannot provide an exact date of when the cubes will be returned to you after repair/replacement. In other words KNCminer is saying take what you have received or have no hashing power until some later date. They claim to be miners and every miner understands that with increased difficulty to not be hashing at all represents a complete loss. As miners they can only have meant to intimidate me. It's also interesting that in this statement they stated that they don't know what the root cause is. Obviously it's not pci-e connectors.

Finally I felt since KNC stated that they could not repair/replace my faulty cubes in a timely manner that a refund should be issued. I also felt that the process of one e-mail a day was designed to delay the asking beyond the 14 day period their local law stipulates when asking for a refund. Basically that it was important to ask for a refund in that 14 day window to protect my interests. When I asked that was the end of any response from KNCminer.

This will be my last posting here for sometime. I have already contacted a lawyer in Stockholm who is interested in helping. I believe it is in every KNCminer customers self interest to ask for a refund. It does not matter what their reaction is. It is important that you ask so you have followed the rule of their local regulations. If there is going to be a resolution in the future where they are forced to comply to the rule of law make sure you have.

Its obvious KNC really don't give a shit about their customers and are just trying to get these POS bricks out of the door as fast as possible so they can fob you off for 3 months until the warranty runs out. Does anyone here believe they will honour the batch one 1 Year warranty? I don't.
