What pushes the wealthy? Its simple.
The fear of losing it all. That singular fear of going back to square one or being broke again.
Another is that already ascertained status or fame.
Another strong one! Is the power of competition. They mostly like to compete.
I think the most important is the power and control wealth commands. Who would like to lose such after taste?

Re: Watin inspired you to join the bitcoin forum?

My biggest concern about becoming a member of this forum is to get the knowledge more about Bitcoin and relate with members that have same pursue as I do. Yeah, we might have other forum that talk about Bitcoin and it related, but in this forum, I have discovered lots of differences that has been keeping me till now, although I don't love to post as others, my major out look is to learn from members that are in here so I can also gather that knowledge they have gotten, that is why before I will make a comment I want to know what the discussion is all about and where it is directed to. We are Nigerians and we know solely well about cryptocurrency scam all over the country. One reason I will say people get scammed is because of no proper knowledge about Bitcoin. So to escape that, it will be better if I expose myself to knowledge about Bitcoin and it investment, and I have found no place like this forum.
Indeed I'm very lucky to find myself in this forum. Seeing also that there is a Nigeria Local board we can meet and discuss about the Bitcoin and it's related and also other very important information that actually one can get useful knowledge about.

Re: Useful information for Nigerian newbies

I have a questions? what are the things newbies should do to earn more merit, and what is the advantages of merit, also and also what should encourage the newbies to get more post.we are new in the forum so we still need, some guide so that we can meet up with our daily post.
E no get anything like "daily post", as a newbie wey no even dey campaign, no be must say you go dey steadily make posts, as a newbie reading better pass posting, because the more you read, the more you go dey learn wetin to post from what you read. E get wetin i notice say e dey affect newbies, and the thing is, dem dey rush, dem wan grab everything in a day, no go dey look some users wey still dey new but dem get penty merits, mind you that knowledge dey different and e get people wey dey understand things faster than others.

Having said that, the best way to take get merits na if you get to learn about Bitcoin and the forum too, e go help you to dey make high quality posts, and na posts like that they give merits. The advantage of merit be say you go use am rank up, and as you rank up dey enjoy yourself for forum, you go fit join signature campaign they earn incentives from your contribution to the forum.
This is true fact. I have leant a lot not by posting, but by reading how reasonable people post. For what I learnt so far, I have seen that not all post made by members are quality post most of them are of low quality, and I can never jump into a discussion without understanding what the discussion or conversation is all about, I need to flow with commenting members so I can learn from them, at times the discussion might looks strange, for this reason, I will decide not to be involved in the discussion so I won't say anything off key. In doing so I learn so many new things I haven't heard or understood for a while. Instead of me posting or commenting I will just take my time to read and gain knowledge instead. My major aim of being a member of this forum is to get enough knowledge on Bitcoin and it related, so I will not be a victim of scammers out there.

Nice way to celebrate our country , I know most Nigerians are really talented despite the ups and downs in the country we are still hoping for one Nigerian and a better leadership. Thank you to the organizers of the contest .
That is just it, Nigeria is filled with lots of talented people, and this has been a way to showcase different form of art. It is very great to celebrate the independence day with an art contest, I'm really excited about this contest, and looking forward to see the beautiful entries before the 24th this month.

The block size wars settled the big debate.
From 2015–2017, the community fought over whether Bitcoin should scale by bigger blocks (hard fork) or second-layer solutions like Lightning (soft fork). The hard fork side split off into BCH, BSV, etc. That battle exhausted everyone and made it clear Bitcoin Core’s conservative path would win.

Re: Common Misconceptions About Bitcoin
by

People think it’s just for criminals, but every single transaction is public on the blockchain.

Some call it a scam, but it’s literally just open code—no secret owner pulling strings.

They say it has no value, but that’s what people said about the internet in the early days.

A lot think it’ll make you rich overnight, but that’s how most people end up losing money.

Folks say it’s killing the planet, but a lot of mining actually uses renewable or wasted energy.

And my favorite—people believe someone controls it, when in reality it’s just a network running on rules everyone agreed to.

It's taught me a lot.  For one,  It’s taught me patience, made me question what money really is, and connected me with people I’d never have met otherwise.

It's changed how I see value, built real discipline in me,  expanded my world, created good and profitable community for me,  sparked innovation.  Bitcoin has done a whole lot for real.

AI is making crypto scams smarter and harder to spot deepfakes, fake chats, and auto-generated content can trick people really fast. Scams are up because AI could help scammers move quicker, look real, and scale big. So y'all stay sharp.

U.S. economic data—especially inflation and rate decisions—strongly impact Bitcoin. Bad data = BTC drops; good data = BTC jumps.

It's not against the rules, but neither is leaving those who voted that way red trust ratings or discarding their votes (I believe Icopress reserved such option) + banning them from future voting.
How do we know which names are implicated?  Is someone going to give a list?
I do have a list (and so do other users) but I don't think it's fair to publish anything while icopress is still counting the votes. Eventually we can talk about this after the contest has been officially closed, announcing names and votes now it could somehow influence/tamper the final results, and as I always said I care about the contest's fairness, making names now would be quite a hypocritical move, so I don't want to do that.

One nice phrase for you..

Go fuck yourself..  asshole

If you want to expose your children to financial education and you have a business that you are running, it's good you take them there during the weekends or when they are on holidays. Give them the money for the house up keep and, direct them on how to spend it. Also get saving box for them, and encourage them to be putting any money given to them as gift into their saving boxes.
true. This is actually a good way to establish their financial growth. They have to see how you do it too. Learn from it and also learn the discipline that comes with it. But what if the parents or home that lacks this discipline?

Can we establish that financial intelligence is not a genetic trait, but an acquired trait, and by that, just as charity begins at home, financial education also begins at home.

Children who grow up in an environment where their parents practice strong financial discipline and it is very evident because of how it has created a balanced growing environment for them where they never lacked nothing but at the same time never wasted anything, will grow up to become children who will also show signs of strong financial intelligence. Do you agree?
how do we go about children who do not have a home or parents to start with? How do we generate the financial discipline? How do they gain their financial education?

Re: Save to Draft interval
by

on 22/02/2025, 10:18:47 UTC
I noticed something recently  regarding the draft but I will like ask if the draft has a specific save to draft interval or all we have to do is click on the preview button everytime we need to save to draft.
If yes then can we have a lees time interval to accomplish this  , if a min interval would be better.
I recently lost a wall of texts due to sudden reload of the Web page, not sure what triggered it but I know it's unusual and I know there will be other members who had similar experiences, sometimes it could be an indelibrate reload of  a Web page.

yeah. Same here. Lost a whole write up and the inspiration gone. But then I have another issue, why is it that I can't send out of the draft? Like when I get to the draft after a preview or reload, it's been drafted. I was thinking it's gonna be something like a resend or send button there, but no. I feel like crying.

Re: Binance-Cash

I become a victim of this scheme which a user is using a money come from scam or hack bank account which they send the money on my account in exchange to my Bitcoin. The result is I was subjected to investigation and the bank freeze my account since the bank claiming that my funds came from illegal activity which is already flagged to the authority.
This is sad, but how do this scammers do this like were you not vigilant enough to notice if they send the money from an account that match with the name the merchant use on the exchange? Because I know cases like this is the reason why third party payment is frown upon. If crypto is legal in your place your history from binance might be enough evidence to clear your name but the funds and your bitcoin can’t be returned.
how vigilant can one be? This is p2p I think. How exactly do you keep asking everyone the source of funds before transacting with them. It's basically business and this is one of the risks involved. You just have to prove your innocence to the bank to clear your account. Sorry to hear about that though.
