Biden speaks at the NATO summit: the main thing

📍Speaking at the NATO summit dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the alliance, Joe Biden said that since he took office, more and more NATO countries have begun to fulfill their commitment to spend 2% of GDP on defense. He explained that under Donald Trump, only 9 countries spent 2% of GDP on defense, and now their number has grown to 23.

📍The President announced that the United States and allies will provide Ukraine with dozens of new tactical air defense systems and added: "In total, Ukraine will receive hundreds of additional interceptors."

📍Speaking about the war in Ukraine, Biden emphasized the importance of protecting "brotherly democracies" and said: "The war will end with Ukraine remaining a free and independent country. Russia will not win."

📍Biden mentioned that 350,000 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded as a result of the invasion of Ukraine.

Russia is waging war because Ukraine is in the "gray zone" and not under NATO's umbrella, — Estonian Prime Minister

Estonian Prime Minister and future EU diplomat Kaja Kallas said that Russia wants the Alliance to "buy" its narrative about the possibility of attacking the Baltic states.

"But the war in Ukraine and our response to it also determine whether NATO is credible. And it is also a deterrent to Russia. Why do we not have a war in NATO countries? Because Russia is not fighting it. Why is Ukraine fighting this war? Because they are in the "gray zone", it is not under the NATO umbrella," she said.

The Estonian official is convinced that Ukraine should become a NATO member if the Alliance wants to get rid of conflicts and "gray zones" in Europe, as they are a potential source of conflict.

Georgia has the youngest female mayor in state history — FOX

21-year-old Brooke Huckabee became the mayor of the small town of Arabi, 150 miles from Atlanta. The girl encourages Generation Z youth to participate more actively in the political process.

Brooke said that she was very concerned that young Americans are not involved in the country's politics. She wanted to be the person to start the change.

She followed in the footsteps of her father, who served as mayor of Arabi for 12 years.

The new mayor's goal is for the city to start "investing in itself" instead of relying on federal aid.

The final plan for schools to opt-out of gadgets will be released in September, and schools will have to implement it by January 1, 2025.

Yangkin said the move will equally benefit both students and educators.

In Brazil, a police officer shot a football player in the leg during a fight on the field🥴

The incident occurred the day before. The Gremio Anapolis team was playing against Centro Oeste, the former lost, and after the final whistle, a fight broke out on the field between the players.

The police tried to stop the fight, and one of the special forces officers fired a traumatic weapon at the players. The bullet hit Gremio goalkeeper Ramon Souza in the shin, and he was seriously injured.

The club condemned the shooting, calling the police officer's actions "sad, senseless and disgusting," and promised to bring the officer to justice.
