Meh, we all know it's gonna go up a lot this year, it is after all the magical fourth year of the cycle.
Idk, it feels like it has all been said before, we're just all repeating ourselves now.
So let's talk about me instead, Costco is opening in Malmö on the first of June and I just became a member.
I don't quite get the concept yet, I just became a member so I could use their gas station, it opened a couple of days ago.
Significantly lower prices, I will get my money back just on gas alone in less then six months.13,89 SEK/l (ca 5.3 USD/US gallon) on Costco vs 15,45 SEK/l (ca 6 USD/US gallon) on the very cheap gas station in the village where I live.
Membership fee is 500 SEK (50 USD ish).
When I first heard about a store that you had to pay a fee to shop in, it sounded like a scam or a way for people with money to be able to shop in a store away from the plebs.
And maybe it is, I have yet to find out, but the gasoline is cheap.
Good to see you posting again, Arriemoller!
I love Costco for the fruit and vegetables - the problem with Costco is the sizes of the packages of food you can buy there. I would be hard for a single person to consume the food once opened before it goes bad but not everything comes in huge packages. The pharmacy section is decent - I buy a lot of supplements there and the prices are good. I have compared the ingredients on the Kirkland Signature brands for many things and they are very similar if not identical to the name brands at greatly reduced prices. Also, the clothing is usually a good deal but the best stuff sells out quickly. The return policy is awesome so if you don't like something, you take it back for a full refund. Even the food - as long as there is more than 50% of it left... they will refund your money. Go during the week - it's less busy. Even if you only buy a few items a year along with the gasoline, you can easily make back your membership fee. They regularly allow you to sample their offerings - it's one of the perks of Costco membership and it's a good way to know if you would like to purchase something. Oh yeah, and the cafeteria there is awesome:

Probably not the healthiest to eat every day but it tastes good and the price is right. The food in the photo looks slightly different than the offerings here but the hot dog looks the same. Here, the hot dog and a drink is only $1.50 or ~10,4Kr but from what I have read about prices in Sweden, 20Kr is cheap food.
Thanks, good to see you too.
That is a good price for a hot dog with beverage, but the rest seems expensive, a pizza slice at ICA is only 15 SEK, that's half the price, I don't know yet how they compare in size though. But there's always Biltema and they are opening a new store across the street from Costco, so I will be getting my coffee there, 5 SEK for a cup of normal coffee with milk if you so desire and a cinemon bun.
I'm looking forward to see what it's like, but Ill probably not do much of my shopping there.
