All of the initial bonuses have being premined already so.

Worthless premined coin.

darn, nevermind. but if anyone has a reasonable price of a useless coin, like ixcoin prices i might be considering it.

I don't think this is the case. At least, the smallest block count I saw was 532.

Someone needs to verify the blockchain.

The thread already did;

If that's not a clear indication of a premine I don't know what is

Umm, that looks like the current height.

If we can see what the difficulty was at the first block, we can determine how fast blocks were generated. Right now I see one or two blocks a minute with getinfo.

Even with 1 MH, you could probably get hundreds of blocks in an hour, I think.

Nope this is the first day Smiley

No, day 3.  The block reward is already 50.

Let's play calculate the premine!

1 block/min

First 24 hours, 1440 blocks at 500 mincoin each = 720,000
Next 24 hours, 1440 blocks at 100 mincoin each = 144,000

Only 10 million mincoins will be made

How generous of the authors to give themselves almost 10% of the total money supply in the first 48 hours!

I don't think this is the case. At least, the smallest block count I saw was 532.

Someone needs to verify the blockchain.

*To encourage early adoption block values for first 3 days are :- 500 MNC, 100 MNC, 50 MNC

Shouldn't you have generated 500 coins that block?

I think the rewards are based on the block#. With 1 minute blocks, 60 * 24 = 1440. When I started to mine, the block # was ~500.

Blocks were flying by with the very low difficulty.

Apparently now with the retarget, we're on day 3. Difficulty is too high for my laptop cpu Sad.

Heya!

I just whipped this up using Twilio.. call or text (anything to) 310-570-2646 (310-570-COIN) and it'll give you the last Bitcoin-USD price on MtGox!

(The price updates every minute.)

Fun fun fun.

That's it!
josh!

It's all fun and games until you get a $99999 bill from sending and receiving text messages.

Re: Bitcoin speculation laptop? Mac book pro vs ASUS Zen book (Halp!)
by

on 22/03/2013, 08:09:29 UTC
I have the former laptop (macbook pro retina with 16 gb ram), and it is really nice. Things are zippy with the included SSD.

The retina display can be set to give you 2880x1800 resolution; you could put the Bitcoin client and a browser side-by-side with no problems.

Well that is a plus for sure. Thanks for pointing that out.

Can this dual boot Mint with out issues do you think?

You'll have to jump some hoops installing anything but Windows. Its not as simple as opening Bootcamp and going through the wizard. I haven't tried so I don't know, sorry.

Alternatively, VMWare is a nice solution. I use it to run Windows/Ubuntu development setups. The SSD in this case really helps.

Well honestly I don't even know what I would be missing if I just formatted the SSD and installed Mint. That should be fine right?

Thanks

I think it can be done.  Huh

The MB is more heavy than I'd like it to be. I don't like carrying it around. You might consider an i7 Macbook Air model.

Dualboot: You can use OS X's included Bootcamp to switch between Windows and Mac on boot. Windows runs natively.

Re: ELI5 - Budget Rig
by
BasementMiner!
on 21/03/2013, 05:17:05 UTC
I am interested in building a budget rig, but am not at all sure where to start. I will probably just start with LTC since there is less competition there, but I still need to know the bascis and how to get the most hash for my buck. It is also important to know that I have to have a case, and I am worried about temps.

Anyways, I assume I will want to just install Ubuntu. So, what CPU should I go for? How much RAM should I have? Can I use different cards on the same system? Im doing research and looking things up as well, but thought I should at least start a topic and hopefully get some advice from those who have been there, and done that.

CPU - Any will do; they're useless for mining.
RAM - 1GB, otherwise it gets kinda slow managing the miner

You'll need to go big on the GPUs. ATI 5830s are preferred. They go around $100 a pop.

Re: LEGAL COURSE of ACTION Discussion --- bASIC / BitcoinASIC
by
BasementMiner!
on 12/03/2013, 07:02:27 UTC
Its odd because the vast majority of people have been refunded.

I'm labeled a scammer - yet I have refunded over a million dollars customers

yes OVER A MILLION DOLLARS.

would a scammer refund this large amount of money? I don't think so. I work every day to get people refunded
i have several people i am talking to over email daily to try and work something out.

this fork has made it very difficult

When .8 came out I installed it and It immediately corrupted my wallet (thanks devs) Tongue

originally i thought my hard drive was bad, so I bought a new one and painstakingly backed everything up and moved everything over
now FINALLY after many days of release the devs decide they should tell us they fucked up (thanks)
today I downloaded .7 and have been patiently waiting for my blockchain to download, im not sure if I will continue refunds or just buy a big crack rock and smoke it in a cave some where

but I am totally offended by this scammer tag. Anyone who knows me or knows the history of Btcfpga knows it is NOT warranted

I am NOT A SCAMMER. and anyone who knows me, knows this.

if I was a scammer I could be living it up easy some place warm instead of braving the same upstate new york winters I have been for 30+ years

btw: while we are on the topic who gave me the tag? What small dick mini mod gave me this without any proof what so ever?HuhHuhHuhHuh?

i would love to know....

anyways

you can email me at btcfpga@gmail.com and we can either work something out or you can be a part of the bankrupcy case - which should be interesting considering the recent fork.

my attorney has compiled an immense amount of proof that this was nothing even resembling a scam and I welcome anyone who should attempt to prove this wrong to show up to court. I will certainly post the details of the bankruptcy court date as soon as we have one set.

one issue i have to face . i promised payments every friday and I kept those up until I ran out of bitcoins. If anyone has any idea how I can buy a large amount of bitcoins please message me. The largest amount I can buy from bitinstant is $500 worth ive looked and looked and its near impossible to make a large bitcoin purchase anywhere. IF anyone has any Ideas I would love to hear them.

i have contributed more to this community than most ever will. By isolating me you are losing someone who really cared about Bitcoin and worked every day to contribute to it. I am truly sorry the bASIC project failed. I would do anything to take it back. BFL has failed as well but at least I have the balls to admit it and not pretend like everything is OK and continue to hold your money for what amost a year now?   Sonny is a ball-less bitch and Josh, James and all of his other lackeys should be ashamed of themselves for promoting a TRUE scam. Maybe I was not able to do what I claimed I could do, but at LEAST I have the balls to admit it and am working my ass off to make it right.

To the ignorant assholes who have no fucking clue about this true Bitcoin man who contributed years of his life to this cause I got a message for you....  FUCK YOU.

to everyone else .... PEACE AND LOVE

to my customers dont worry - if you havent received your refund yet either work with me on it or Ill see you in bankruptcy court.

Take care and good luck Bitcoin - this fork is one of the best things that could of happened to me.

Sincerely
Tom

I have not received a refund.

And why not buy from Mt.Gox? Are they scammers too?!

Multiple web pages ending in .php usually signify a poor codebase with a developer with poor web development knowledge. A clusterfuck of html mixed in with php is a recipe for a unmaintainable hodgepodge and may imply other not-so-great web development practices taking place.

I would be wary of the security practices taken here, including general "common sense" practices (not live editing db/files/presence of backups)

It seems like a weekend project with no intent to expand beyond a couple of users.
