As I see the situation with quantum calculations, the main concerns are:

1)  **P2PK** (Pay-to-PubKey) early Satoshi addresses with much BTC

2) REUSED addresses with some BTC amount (which have already exposed their public key

2) Mempool transactions (with visible public keys)

As for the First, a consensus or a Fork Or something like that is needed to block transactions from those addresses

As for the Second, mass education for BTC holders is needed to move BTC from reused addresses to New ones.

As for the Third, I don't know.. Does anybody know a solution?

You know, I think the greatest ever, excellent genuine Bitcoin BTC should not be spammed with any non-financial data in its Blockchain.
Personally, I have just successfully migrated from Core to Knots full node.

I compared various (hidden in Core but visible in Knots) node's settings and kept almost all (including Anti-Spam) setting to Knot's Defaults.

I think Knots shows a more open, responsible, honest approach by giving the right and freedom to the community to decide what types of transactions can be on the BTC blockchain.

This appears to be the last legit version of Bitcoin Core before the spam filters are forcefully removed without community consensus.

If you don't want shitcoin lite running on your node I suggest not updating to any version beyond 29.0, or switch to Knots.
headingnorth , would you please tell us more?? What "spam filters" , what are you talking about? Personally, I've heard nothing about it.

There's a big debate about it in Technical Discussion as achow101 mentioned.
Some short videos from Matthew Kratter to get you up to speed on the matter more quickly:

Bitcoin Core Going Rogue?
Bitcoin Core Attacking Bitcoin?
Does Bitcoin Spam Exist?
Satoshi's Secret Cure for Spam
Bitcoin Core Removes the Mask

www.youtube.com/@Bitcoin_University/videos

I hope achow101 is right and it won't happen but according to Matt Kratter (Bitcoin Core Removes the Mask)
the announcement was made a couple days ago by the devs and the PR will be merged. We will see.

But if true then there is no doubt Core has been compromised and must be rejected by all node operators IMO.

Thank you, in my opinion, this is a very important topic.
I will try to get to know this topic better, thank you

They're referring to ongoing drama about OP_RETURN limits. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5539943.0

No PR removing those limits has been merged at this time, to say that they are being forcefully removed is simply hyperbole.
Thank you, I'll read the topic.
Just curious, does Bitcoin Knots still fully support UPnP? And will it be able to accept my fully synced BTC database from Bitcoin Core or will it begin syncing the database from the very 2009 again if I install it?

Wumpus, I'll try to post the debug information some later maybe.   Because, you know, these days i have big trouble with my Bitcoin node not only with the new 29.0 version. A couple of days ago i replugged my hard disk from one sata port (on the motherboard) to another.
And suddenly, my fully synchronized bitcoin core node said it could not load the blockchain database or broken indexrx or something like that (i don't remember now).
Whatever i did (check the drive for errors , etc) the node rejected my local database and started to download the full database since the very 2009 year.
And untill now , it has still been synchronizing.
It is now in 2024 year only.
So, i'm a little bit tired of all thus bustle with my node. By the way, it had been working fine for 2 years approximately without any issues.
Maybe later I'll install the 29.0 version and provide the necessary debug info here.

Achow101, thank you very much for your very valuable explanations on the topic!
My main goal in running Bitcoin Core full node is to help and support as much as I can the wonderful great Bitcoin network and community. It is great that even without accepting incoming connections one can still support the network!
Yet, personally, I have a pretty fast wide Internet channel and 24/7 server which I would very much like to do the maximum benefit for the Bitcoin network.
So, I prefer to stay with 28.1 version for now.
Maybe in the next versions the Bitcoin Core developers will find a solution to return the UPnP functionality (without issues).
Then I'll immediately upgrade to that new version.

Achow101, thank you very much for the answer. I can neither change my router, nor open incoming port manually with port forwarding (my router was given by my internet provider). So, I have downgraded back to the 28.1 version which opens the port fine.

Would you be willing to share what ISP you have, and the brand and model of the router? We are interested in gathering information on router compatibility for this change.

Sure. My ISP is https://beltelecom.by/en/about.
My router's brand is labeled as JSC "PROMSVYAZ" . I guess that is a clone of some Chinese brand.
The model is labeled as MT-PON-AT-4 (i.e. a PON, Passive optical network type).
As i guess it supports UPnP and manual port forwarding only. I cannot use the manual forwarding because the router asks dor password i don't know and i don't like resetting its settings to defaults.
So, since v.29.0 has dropped UPnP support (as i now understand it) my BTC Core application was unable to accept incming connections any more. But that is the most important feature for me, as i consider supporting the great BTC network as an exclusively important goal.

Please, can anybody help me to open port for incoming connections with this version 29.0??
What on earth  have they done with this new version that neither GUI setting for pcp or nat-pmp , nor natpmp=1 option in bitcoin.conf do NOT WORK any more??
Thank you!

I've never been able to get incoming connections to work.  I gave up some time ago hahahaha.
Lunafreak, up untill the 28.1 version all was always working fine!
I myself reverted to 28.1, and the incoming port was opened instantly!
Check your firewall settings. Maybe that is the cause of your problem

You say they changed implementation.
This is NOT any answer to my question!
I myself know they did.
They just did NOT EXPLAIN in a plain English HOW TO open the port NOW.
It seems they do all possible to BLOCK people from running full nodes with open incoming connections for all!

Re: Export Transaction file from mobile Android Electrum watch-only wallet
by

Well, you can skip the mobile phone and it will be even faster.

1) Create unsigned transaction on your online PC and display the QR
2) Scan the QR code with your offline computer
3) Sign the transaction and display the QR
4) Scan the QR code with your online computer
5) Broadcast the transaction

But you could also (if you don't have webcams or don't want to use them) do this:

1) Create unsigned tx on your online PC and display the QR
2) Make a photo of the QR code with your mobile phone
3) Move the photo onto your offline PC
4) Use a QR code reader software on your offline PC to decode the data
5) Import the unsigned TX into electrum
6) Sign the transaction and display the QR
7) Do 2) - 5) with the signed tx from your offline pc -> online pc
8] Broadcast the TX

The second approach is more time consuming and requires a software to extract data from QR codes installed on your online AND offline PC.
I, personally, would choose the first option for dedicated offline storage.

Bob123, thank you very much for your interesting ideas!

You are right , I don't want to use my notebook's camera to scan QR codes from my PC. My PC screen is actually my smart TV hanging on the wall, it I would be extremely uncomfortable for me to scan anything from that screen with the Notebook.
So , I should use either your method 2 or my own method (copy-paste described above) . Both methods are complex and inconvenient  Angry

Yeah... the android version is a very cut down version. So, unfortunately, there are a lot of really useful features missing.

I guess the dev's never envisaged someone trying to use the Android version as the "watch-only" wallet for an offline Desktop version Undecided  It doesn't strike me as an overly complicated thing to achieve (exporting transactions), so maybe raise a ticket on their github and they might add it as an enhancement one day Wink

HCP,  you know, I think that is a very natural , self-evident, matter-of-course way if using the Android wallet version!

Look, on my online Desktop PC I want to send bitcoins to somewhere. They usually provide me with a QR Code which I would have just scanned with my Android watch-only wallet, export (save) the transaction file, and then signed it on my offline cold Storage notebook, then I'd again export it back to my Android (or PC's ) watch-only wallet for broadcasting.
That would be quick and fine!
I have never used the GitHub, yet maybe later I'll try to do waht you suggest

Based on my investigations... the "Save" option on the "Send" tab in Android Electrum (the little diskette icon), simply saves the "invoice" into your wallet file... It is not used like the "save" option in the desktop client for being able to export transactions for signing offline.
Code:
...
    "invoices": {
        "1dummyBitcoinAddress": {
            "hex": "22291xxxxxxxxxxxxx[redacted]xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx6f6f2a00",
            "requestor": null,
            "txid": null
        }
    },
...

Of course it is. Unlike the great Desktop version the very restricted Android Electrum wallet application does NOT have an Export button !  Angry  (Which personally I do use always for exporting unsigned transaction for signing offline

TryNinja, you are right of course.
I just hope one of the excellent , wise and smart Electrum's developers (Thomas Voegtlin, Maran Hidskes, Michael Wozniak or EagleTM) visit this topic and implement this very very useful , a "must-have" feature!
TryNinja, thank you very much for your help and attention!

You know, in the Android Electrum Send tab there is a button (diskette) which is a Save transaction button indeed, I think.
When I press it Electrum says 'invoice saved'. But where is it saved , no idea.
I  thought it was a sort of the Desktop's Export button (which can be used to save and pass transactions from Desktop watch-only wallets.
Well , actually I see there's NO clear and simple way to use Android Electrum watch-only wallet. Now I have to copy-paste BTC address , amount from destination to my Desktop's watch-only wallet. Instead of using an instant and so pleasant scanning QR code method
