The domain name is registered with Namecheap, and despite using Cloudflare I believe they host the website as well.

It may be worth reporting the domain name to their department. I already did this a long time ago, and their team didn't take long to react

Thanks for the info. Namecheap was indeed able to shut it down. However, another copycat out there again bltgild.com. Be careful, they are still operating, but will likely go down fast as well.

Important info about a scam website

There is a scam website www.bitgilt.com (with a T instead of a D) that is copy cat of bitgild.com. Please be very careful and don't order there.

They are currently serviced by nowpayments. We have been in contact with nowpayments and asked them to shut them off immediately. However, it will only be a matter of time before they use a different payment system.

We will try to find out how we can ask google to de-list them from the search engine as soon as possible.

The notification system on this forum should definitely be looked at. We are subscribed for notifications, it works for a few weeks, and then all of sudden we are cut off, and don't receive any new notifications, even though we are still subscribed. This is already the 3rd time this has happend. Any suggestions on how to overcome this are highly appreciated.

May I give a suggestion to the administration?

A few months ago you had the 20 French francs coin with Marianne and the rooster. I was excited and said to myself ok, this week I'll buy some coins to Bitgild. A few days later, when I wanted to buy, I realized that you were out of stock.
Last week, the same thing happened to me (after several months of waiting).

I think you rarely receive the 20 French francs in stock and in limited quantities (?). Not a problem per se.
Why not create a kind of email alert or even a newsletter to warn the users when stock is available again. In any case, it would be something very useful.

I've been trying to get these coins for a long time. I know they are easy to find, but when it comes to accepting bitcoins as payment, Bitgild is the only one to do it.

Understand this. This feature would certainly be helpful. We will consider this.

Although I have to say, that currently we are experiencing quite some heavy volume in general, and gold is pretty scarce at the moment. So sourcing any coin and getting it delivered in reasonable time is a problem for the entire market right now. All our stock is immediately sold out, and we are very much dependent on the delivery times of the gold houses.  Hence the reason why the delivery times are currently extremely long Sad.

I made a first order 1200€. I sent many emails, no answer. I got it in about 2 and half weeks.

Second order about 8000€ and now they are asking for Yoti verification, that is not honest and serious.

What does cause the trigger?

    If your order is more than €10.000
    or if all your orders combined add up to €10.000 or more

Email support never answer to my emails. So Bitgild can you respect your own rules and ask verification ONLY above 10k€?
If I want to share all my private details I would just go to all cheapest gold sellers and that would be fine.

Unfortunately the above info about regulation is obviously also not something we prefer to do, because we value the privacy of our customers as well. Unfortunately we still  have banking relationships with the real world, and we can't go full crypto yet. That means that we have to comply to local regulations. We rather also not do regulation, but we have to, in order to stay in business. Sorry Smiley

Your last email asking us about the KYC dated form 35 minutes ago, so I guess we are still kind of responsive. We apologise for not responding in 5 minutes Wink.

Is Bitgild still recommendable?

We are still very much a live, but we have not monitored this post too much. Somehow bitcointalk only notifies about new messages for a certain period of time, and then all of a sudden the notifications stop. Apologies for the people that were hoping for our response from us here and did not get one. I'm kind of in panic mode right now.
I have read the good reviews so I decided to place a rather large sum order, to be paid in bitcoin.
So I choose to pay in Bitcoin and the invoice with timer pops up.
I copy the address and amount and do the bitcoin payment.

Then I watch as the timer goes all the way down to zero.

Now my account shows the order as "cancelled", but the bitcoin payment was made.

What will happen now?



Vavoo, all good. Your payment was slightly underpaid by a minuscule amount of bitcoin, which is why the bitcoin invoice was not completed automatically. We got your funds, and will continue processing your order.

I've ordered some gold on June, 30. Unfortunately I entered the wrong country, but the address was otherwise correct. On July 10th I had written a mail, because I only noticed it then. Unfortunately I did not receive an answer. Can you look into this case?

Whats the average delivery time to UK. Just placed an order on sunday with btc, payment says processing and i have not received any confirmation email.

All orders from Sunday have just been shipped. We always send out shipment confirmations at 19.00PM CEST, so you should get that confirmation in your email today.

However, since you did not get the confirmation email, I want to double check if everything is alright. Delivery times are significantly higher than usual.

Due the high demand for gold the supply is very limited at this moment. Currently our average shipping time is 5 to 7 business days after you have placed the order.

Ok thx. But why is there written on your website that the shipping takes 1 week (/ the shipping starts in 1 week) but here you wrote only 2 days in europe? That looks a little bit like e a deception for me...

That is the reason why it's there;) We do not want a deception if you order, and we have to tell you it will take longer than expected. We can't keep all our products in stock all the time. In the end we are working with a product that is quite volatile as well, and we have to hedge against gold prices Wink.

Products that are in stock, will usually ship same day, or the day after. If it's specifically mentioned it will take longer, it usually does.

Silly question but: I dont need an extra BTCpay account for this, right? Just send the Bitcoins from any wallet (Electrum, Ledger, Razor, ...)  to the adress which is shown to me at the checkout, right?

Correct. No account is needed.

It really depends which country you ship to, and where to in the country.


-Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, United kingdom usually takes 1-2 business days.
-France, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Finland usually 2-3 business days.
-Eastern europe usually takes 3-5 business days.
-US and Canada usually within 2-3 business days.

Thx. What are the fees for these 3? And why do you have only 1 Trustpilot review if you are "one of the biggest european gold shops" since 2013?

We do not use trustpilot for reviews but stamped.io ( for which we have 800+ reviews). That 1 review was somebody who took the time to create a trustpilot review and account for bitgild, but we are not actively sourcing for reviews on trustpilot. We find them too expensive.

Fees for BTCPAY and BitPay are 0.75%

For altcoins this is around 4%. Rather steep, but we need that percentage to be on the safe side in unstable times. Altcoin market depths can be horrible sometimes. So we advise our customers to exchange to BTC if they can.

Hmm. Maybe there is something going on with mailing inboxes. I'm not saying it is you, but from what I can see from our side we have not received any email (or spam) from your icloud.com account since your order. I assume you received our emails, since you say you sent us your bitcoin address.
