Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading

I logged in and it works fine on my end - firefox with ublock origin. Have you looked into this basic troubleshooting article of theirs? see: https://support.bitfinex.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023364834-FAQ-on-Chart-and-User-Interface-loading-problems

I'm guessing you've also tried the "clear and refresh chart settings" button?

Yes, I refreshed the chart, I also cleared browser cache. Still no chart. I tested it on my phone in a firefox browser (instead of the Bitfinex app I normally use), and I can see a chart there. It must something with my desktop's connection. Not a huge problem though, I'll use my phone to see charts for now. Thanks for the help.

This topic seems pretty dead, but in case someone is reading...

Since a while now, more than a month, I can't see charts anymore on the bitfinex website. In the app it works fine, but when I log into the website, the area where the chart should be is just blank, doesn't matter if I'm in trading, derivatives or lending, it's just a blank area where the chart used to be.

I'm using the latest firefox. I also tried logging in on a completely new firefox profile without any addons etc, still no charts.

Is there anyone else with this problem? Or better yet, is there a solution?

Since this thread was necroed anyway, might as well reply Tongue
The screenshot says "verification status: pending review". So it's clearly a verification problem. Maybe they have strengthened their KYC/AML procedures and you need to send them documents? Also this was during the height of the 2017 bull run, they really were swamped, getting hundreds of thousands of new users that had to be reviewed. So I'm not surprised they didn't respond. All exchanges had that problem around that time.

But was the problem ever resolved?

Their dev team is excellent, but the business side and everything related to banking and withdrawals is atrocious. If they ever turn into a reliable exchange, i might return. Until then i'll watch from the sidelines.

The banking is totally out of their hands and always will be unless they buy their own bank, which'll be instantly shunned.
I mean compared to other exchanges. I use Kraken as well and i've never had any fiat withdrawal problems there.

The other thing that bugs me is that they don't even admit to having problems. They tweet about having processed billions worth of withdrawals in October, yet they can't process mine and those of other people i've read complaints from?

Tried to withdraw fiat (express withdrawal), still nothing received after a month. After some mailing back and forth, i managed to cancel the withdrawal. So instead i'm now trying to withdraw the money in usdt. Withdrawal initiated more than 2 hours ago and still 'processing'. I know it can theoretically take up to 12 hours, but i'm fed up with this exchange now. I've been customer for years but i'm now withdrawing everything i can out of there. Their dev team is excellent, but the business side and everything related to banking and withdrawals is atrocious. If they ever turn into a reliable exchange, i might return. Until then i'll watch from the sidelines.

Separate issue: The amount sent in the withdrawal is mysteriously 18 usd less than it should be. It's not the withdrawal fee, because that's 20 usd and i also disabled 'take fee from amount', so the amount on the receiving end should be what i enter in the withdrawal form, but it's 18 usd less. Does anyone recognize this issue or knows what's going on?

edit: withdrawal complete now.

Is there a subforum here or a subreddit where bfx support answer questions? Like for Kraken there's a support agent answering questions in their official topic here on Bitcointalk. Is there any place like that for bfx? I've opened a ticket two months ago and have exchanged a few emails but my deposit is still missing. I'd like to speed things up because it's getting ridiculous.

I'm using the android app and the website and the funding books don't appear to be the same. See the screenshots for ETC below. While on the website there's a big wall on the offer side at flash return rate (FRR), in the app that wall isn't there most of the time. Does anyone know why? What's the point of a funding book if it's not reliable?
did you try to increase precision? (+ button)
They have the same precision. Look at the steps in which the rate progresses. Exactly the same but vastly different ETC amounts. The only explanation i can think of is that there's a bug in the android app that causes it to ignore all the offers that have set "FRR" as their rate, so it would only see offers with a fixed rate (FRR is dynamic).

The same goes for Polo. Months later and no word from them about it. Looks like they've pocketed the free money.

Quick question: If i want to deposit USDT, is it using OMNI or ETH as a transport layer? I'm asking because i want to send some USDT from Bitfinex to Kraken. For OMNI the fee is 20 USD, for ETH only 3 USD. On Bitfinex's site i can choose which one to use but i don't want my money to disappear if Kraken only supports OMNI.

...

I also have a question for you. Why would Tether start to issue USDT on Ethereum in
addition to issuances on OMNI?

Probably because of high fees on the BTC blockchain. Last time i sent USDT from Polo to Bitfinex it cost me 25 USDT. I imagine it's probably a lot cheaper on ETH's blockchain.

I honestly thought the upgrade had already happened since in the last few weeks the platform was running much smoother than before. I can hardly wait to see how smoothly it wil run after the upgrade.

The frequent updates are also appreciated, i don't understand why people complain about them. They're also getting more entertaining.  I've been using Kraken since 2013 and they are indeed the most trustworthy exchange there is. Only people who started using Kraken recently seem to be worried. They don't really know the exchange or their good reputation. I'm not worried at all.

Update
I fell asleep at my desk. In a dream, the ghost of a butterfly from the future whispered to me "the dollar hit 0 bitcoin". I wake up, people around me dabbing the blood from their eyes. Progress has been made but not enough. I crack my whip -- "we aren't getting to zero like this!". The flogging will continue until morale improves. Expect another update after I make my rounds. I'm sorry I've let you down.

I wonder who is writing these updates? Is it Jesse or one of the devs working on the upgrade?

Edit: nearing completion now. This update just came in.

Update
We are close but rather than launch immediately ahead of the team passing out, we will push off a bit to get some rest and be able to better monitor systems and react to problems following launch. Unfortunately, this means several more hours of delay. We do not have a definite time but it will not be before 9:00AM UTC (1:00AM PT).

There's Kraken, but it has terrible, glitchy trade engine.

If it's only btcusd you want to trade i recommend kraken.com. They have the best reputation when it comes to trust. You might read some complaints about the site not working and generating a lot of errors, but that was because of the high number of new users. They upgraded their systems and the problems are solved, so Kraken is my exchange of choice and i recommend them if you don't need that many currency pairs.

Re: Poloniex Withdrawal Fee
by
Bonez0r
on 01/01/2018, 10:17:50 UTC
Just noticed that.
What's happening ?  Huh Huh Huh Huh
What 's happening is that transaction fees are at an all time high on the btc network. If Polo doesn't use a high fee, the transactions might take unacceptably long or even get stuck and people would blame Polo and bury them in support tickets. I'm making periodic usdt withdrawals and the fee used to be 8 usdt. Then one got stuck for days, i contacted Polo support about it and now they increased usdt withdrawal fee to 25 usdt. It's ridiculously high but needed. Now every withdrawal i make is included in the next block. I still remember the time when a btc transaction cost only 5 cents and the low cost was considered on of the biggest advantages of crypto.

I agree, if you don't see any withdrawals then your coins are most probably safe. It could be a page loading issue. Based on my own experience I think the way the page loads is it first loads a basic layout with zero balance and then it retrieves and updates your actual balance. Sometimes it's slow or gets stuck at the first part and the balance appears to be zero. Have you tried reloading the page (F5 or ctrl-F5)?

At least they give ample warning long before the new measures go into effect.

Actually i've been trying to get verified, but the process seems to require a webcam and i don't have one. I tried using the camera on my phone but the verification system doesn't recognize it and insists on a webcam. I've heard this complaint from many people and i hope Polo will hear us and do something about it. How hard can it be to allow taking ID pictures with a phone cam?

Tether and Bitfinex are a criminal gang. I will keep saying this until they will be closed (soon).
You are free to make false claims as long as you like, the rest of us will continue to disbelieve you until you bring proof. Less defamation, more (or any) facts.

I created a support ticket and got a confirmation email with instructions how to add additional info if needed. It tells me to reply to the mail, but the sender is noreply@bitfinex.com so my reply is returned with an "address not found" message. Does anyone know how to contact them by mail because i can only see webforms on their site. (of course i could guess and send it to support@bitfinex.com, but i'd like to be sure).
