Re: Have You Ever Felt Like Gambling Was Affecting Your Life Negatively?
by

on 15/07/2025, 11:21:29 UTC
I only really think about it when I lose a big amount, that’s when I start feeling like the addiction is creeping in. But on normal days, I just enjoy gambling, so I don’t really see it as a problem for me.

But I get that a lot of people do struggle. Some don’t even earn enough for their families, yet they still keep gambling. That’s why the government here in the Philippines gets criticized, many say they’re not doing enough to address gambling addiction.

Re: The real reason why bitcoin can't be stopped
by

Rather than attacking, the government realize it's better to coexist
The government in the past have attacked bitcoin times without number but they failed because of bitcoin decentralized nature. They have no option than to allow it coexist with other asset because bitcoin has proven them wrong and continue to maintain its nature and the purpose of her creation by Satoshi. The people have known that the government have been spreading the FUD about bitcoin because they don't want their citizens to understand the true potential of bitcoin. This is why the government accepts the coexistence because the citizens wants to invest in something new to save their wealth from fiat depreciation overtime.
The government may accept the co-existence with bitcoin but we all know the government is showing a two-faced when it comes to bitcoin. It’s not a secret that until now, the government has still not supported bitcoin mainly because of its decentralized nature.

The government is selfish, they want to take full control on everything, until bitcoin came, and become a threat to fiat, and the worst thing is they can’t gain an access and take full control on all bitcoin that exist in the market.

Re: How important is it for BTC to be non KYC?
by

Like someone DCA'ing every 2 weeks however holding off on putting in larger sums until they have mastered non KYC?
If you value your privacy, then you will know how important it is for your bitcoin not to be required with KYC. The sad thing is, looks like KYC has already been adopted by majority of the exchanges, otherwise these exchanges will also be punished by the regulatory bodies once they fail to exercise KYC verification on every crypto transaction.

Indeed, there are quite advantages if we don’t comply with KYC, but as what the regulatory bodies imply, safety and security of our coins are their ultimate goal, and with that there are no valid reasons not to comply.

Re: Before You Think of Giving Up on Crypto, Read This

on 14/07/2025, 21:39:59 UTC
I am not going to sugar-coat my words to any newbie, if you cannot deal with volatility; if you cannot handle losses, then quit if you want to. There are a thousand and one other kinds of investments that are more stable and less riskier than crypto.  Bitcoin is even a better option for newbies but there are still risks. Just like op has mentioned, if you cannot stay committed and disciplined, go for other options that suit your risks tolerance instead of holding on to something your mental health can't handle.
Exactly. If you think you have been caught up from the moment you invested your money up to the current time, then there’s no reason to stop yourself to finally quit. Just quit when everything is not working great anymore. No need to compromise yourself nor your funds, just try to engage in something less risky so that there will be less possible losses as well.

Crypto investment isn’t a do or die. So if you think you don’t suit for it, find another one that you find easier to navigate. After all, we don’t invest simply to lose, but to generate more money as much as possible.

Re: New Member Introduction

Hi everyone! I'm new to crypto and Bitcointalk. I'm here to learn more about Bitcoin, altcoins, and how to earn through bounty or signature campaigns. Looking forward to learning and contributing. Cheers!
Welcome to the forum! A lot of newbies have been rushing to enter the market these days simply because the market is very bullish. My piece of advice, prioritize learning the forum first before you aim for future profits. Greed is inevitable but let’s not get carried away with it, focus on learning the background of bitcoin first, and the whole stuffs that comprise the crypto market.

Eventually, earning will just easily follow if you have reached already the basic requirements to learn. There’s no rush in learning, as well as in making significant profits.

Re: See No gambling Hear no gambling Talk No gambling for strict regulation?
by

Why should the government take freedom away from people because of their own reasons, they should leave people alone to make their own decisions. Parents should be responsible and also teach their children how to be responsible and not the work of the governments. I also like gambling regulations but which can have positive effect towards under 18 people. Also I like regulations about how to minimize scam gambling sites to zero if possible.
That’s not really how it works in a country where poverty is high. Most people aren’t practicing “responsible gambling” and that ends up affecting their livelihood.
The more people get addicted, the more we see crime and poverty rise.

In the end, it’s still the government that carries the burden. though, they collect taxes from gambling, but that money just circles back to fund aid programs.
The real winners here are the operators.

Re: Should religion speak on gambling for the whole country?
by
Botnake
on 14/07/2025, 02:55:18 UTC
The only agency which such right is the government, if the government decides to ban gambling, then that's it, in a country where there are multiple religions, each religion can impose laws only on those who are members of that religion, and on this adhering is based on personal choices and so on. But when the government of a country creates a law, every body from every religion is expected to adhere and obey that law.

Even though Christianity has the largest following in the Philippines, the government can't make decisions based solely on one religion’s teachings. But in reality, most religions discourage gambling anyway. The thing is, gambling has already been deeply rooted in our culture, even during the Spanish colonization, they introduced cockfighting, which is still hugely popular today. And while online sabong was eventually banned, if they see online gambling as just as addictive, then they should be consistent and crack down on that too.

I think the government doesn’t really see it as a major issue yet, maybe because they're still providing financial aid to the poor. That’s why many of the people who are most affected by gambling addiction just continue, thinking they’ll always get some support from the government anyway.

I think Sinner might be a bit overvalued after dominating a legend like Novak Djokovic, that kind of win naturally skews public perception. but I’m going with the defending champ this time, It might be a close one, but I like Alcaraz because he knows how to fight back even when he's behind.

He wasn’t just some random underdog, he was ranked No. 1 for a reason, so it’s expected he’d be a tough matchup for Alcaraz, who's currently No. 2. It was a solid match between the two. Alcaraz took the first set, but in the second, he lost his composure. You could clearly see Sinner was the better player from there, dominating the next two sets 6-4.

The odds had it right, Sinner was a slight favorite going in.
And now, he finally gets his moment as the first Italian champion to lift the trophy.

Re: The One Question That Every Trader Should Ask Themselves
by
Botnake
on 13/07/2025, 23:28:03 UTC
"If this trades doesn't go as planned, will I still be able to sleep at night?"
This is why I trade using limited margin around 1-5% of my portfolio, in case of things went really wrong i'm not losing anything, that 1-5% loss I can recoup back in no time and therefore I can sleep at night.
I always prefer building profit slowly than in one fell swoop only to get liquidated later.

Risk management is the key that people often overlook just because they become greedy and become FOMO.
The problem is, practicing proper risk management is often overlook because for them, their confidence to trade will help them build their trading profits, not realizing that any time their trades will not go as planned, and will fail to give them consistent profits.

For me, experience is the key. If they won’t lose in the process, then they will never realize the realities about trading and they will never gain a lesson that they can benefit throughout their trading career.

Re: What's makes you a good Bitcoiner?
by
Botnake
on 13/07/2025, 21:13:15 UTC
To me, being a "bitcoiner" means having full faith in Bitcoin over fiat currencies and altcoins. However, the definition may vary depending on how each person sees Bitcoin. I don't have a lot of Bitcoin, only hundreds of thousands of satoshis, but even so, I believe in Bitcoin.
Of course, for you to be able a full-pledged bitcoiner, you have to develop complete trust into bitcoin and keep it as a priority towards altcoins and meme coins. You are making a good promotion about it, not in a sense of spreading good information about bitcoin online, but using it in a positive purpose that will make the people realized that bitcoin is for our own good welfare, and it shouldn’t be an instrument towards negative purposes.

Also, being a good bitcoiner means you have better access on it whether as an investment or as a currency, and that fiat is only a back up knowing its value will only depreciate in the long run.

Re: I did a last resort resolve of gambling addiction.

Honestly, many gamblers say they'll stop gambling, but after a few days, they're back in action again. Well, I hope that will be serious and you'll never get tempted again.

Though this idea could help you, mate, it wouldn't completely make you safe, and there would be no room for gambling again. It actually takes time to close the door on gambling, and if you survive, you're totally free. With this, it could help more if you make yourself busy with other stuff to completely get gambling out of your mind.
OP is in control of whether he gambles or not. He blocks gambling websites on his system but it can be undone in just a few minutes.
It's still his way of stopping himself, and it works for him. That’s why he shared it here.

Gambling addiction is a serious problem, so no one’s really safe from it (rich or poor )  because none of us have unlimited money. once we start risking more than we can afford to lose, it hurts our finances. And if we keep doing it consistently, it can bankrupt us faster than we expect.

Re: Usyk - Dubois Rematch July 19 Undisputed Heavyweight, Wembley, London
by
Botnake
on 13/07/2025, 15:16:53 UTC
I think the same result will happen, but Dubois really needs to go for a KO, and I'm sure there will be some low blow controversies again.

Whoever the referee of this fight is, he will need to address the low blow issue. What is the level of low blow because Dubois does not want to see the same scenario, because he will be targeting Usyk's body to slow him down.
I agree that Dubois should go for an early knockout. Usyk shows that he is at his best in the latter rounds, especially the championship rounds.
I like to see this fight from a fresh perspective. I don’t see this as a continuation of the first fight.

Dubois definitely has a shot because of his high KO rate, but he needs to fight smart, not reckless or Usyk will capitalize again. After the controversy in their last fight, you can bet the refs will be keeping a closer eye this time. Low blows probably won’t be tolerated anymore… unless, of course, they plan to rig it to make sure Usyk stays champion and retires with all the glory.

Re: A quick assessment: How has relationships helped your gambling activities? ‎

‎a. Gambling with help of friends and associates who share codes and betting strategies, versus,

I’d choose collaboration because more heads are better than one, when you share the same interest and goal, it becomes easier to build a winning strategy. You are more focused and driven especially when you're being challenged and with mutual support, you push each other to grow and improve over time.

unfortunately for me I don’t have any friends who share the same interest, but if I did I’d definitely want to collaborate.... I’m confident I could contribute something valuable, and I know I’d also learn from them., that kind of teamwork makes for a solid and powerful partnership to beat the bookies.

Re: Use simple logic to win in sports betting..
by
Botnake
on 13/07/2025, 12:16:41 UTC
You ask for logic.. this is the hard reality.
It’s not really a secret anymore since it’s being shared openly, it’s more like bait to lure people in, either to scam them or get them to buy a subscription. As for me, the simple logic I’ve learned in sports betting is: don’t overanalyze. Sometimes the best move is to just read the lines and avoid overthinking things. No need for complicated handicapping as often, the smarter play is just to go against the public, because public perception is usually off.

Billboards has to be be seen by only those traveling on the road but with internet, more people can be reached.

Aside from that billboard, there are tons of ads flooding social media especially on Facebook, where the Philippines has over 100 million users.

That platform has become the most effective for advertising, which is why many gambling operators no longer bother with TV ads as too expensive and with limited reach. Billboards are just an additional promo strategy, mostly for visibility in big cities, but online casinos? They’re targeting the entire country.

Re: What do you do with a good trading strategy?
by
Botnake
on 12/07/2025, 23:36:02 UTC
Either you keep it that way or try to improve and upgrade it, that’s already up to you. The important thing is, you are still benefiting from your strategy, and as long as it’s doing a great job, you will still be in consistent profits. However, you can always try to create a new one and develop it that will suit to your trading style. Having a single strategy that consistently works for you is good, but we can’t also deny the fact that having another potential strategy that will serve as a back up will help you avoid future mistakes and losses.

Re: Is Bitcoin just for the rich?
by
Botnake
on 12/07/2025, 21:33:06 UTC
Certainly no. It creates an opportunity both for the poor and the rich, so you can’t tell that the rich have all the chances to get richer while the poor stay being poor all throughout its existence. With bitcoin, there’s always an opportunity to get rich in the future, but take note, there is no get rich quick but it’s always a long, working process.

However, we can’t deny the fact that these rich people gain more advantage when it comes to buying and accumulating good amount of bitcoin. But it’s not the amount of bitcoin that will greatly matter, but it’s on how long you’ll be able to hold them while waiting for the perfect price to sell.

Money alone without the sense of being creative and resourceful will only go into waste. One should learn how to maximize any opportunity that will make your money grow, by developing your own talent or skills that will attract bigger earning opportunities.

Although money is a crucial factor for our daily survival, and it’s the ultimate goal why everyone is working hard and enduring hardship and sacrifices, but what’s the worth of money if you don’t even know how to grow or create another opportunity to make more money.

Re: I tjink $150k look certain this year, bitcoin unstoppable!
by
Botnake
on 11/07/2025, 23:56:05 UTC
For us bitcoin optimists, having $150k for bitcoin is highly achievable. Doesn’t matter even if it comes early next year, as long as it did happened. However, if there are unpredicted events that would delay bitcoin price increase, for me that won’t be a lapse for bitcoin. Bitcoin has its own market pattern to follow, and it will definitely reach a certain price or value, with or without price crash or correction in the market.

Bitcoin makes impossible for others become possible for us, that’s one potential of bitcoin that anyone cannot trade.
