This is what differentiates bitcoin from traditional banks that when transaction is sent to a wrong account number, it can be traced and possibly recovered. Though for bitcoins sent to an exchange bitcoin address, the receiving address can be tracked and recovered just like in the case of BYBIT hack, though it was ETH address that was hacked but some of the coins that was moved out of the ETH address were still recovered. Though it is better not to send bitcoins to wrong address, double checking the receiving address before sending will help in order for such case not to happen. Some people feel so lazy to cross-check the address they are sending bitcoins to, just because they think that since they copied it, no character or number will be omitted but it is a wrong assumption to conclude that you have copied the address rightly without doing a recheck thoroughly.
