they've increased the fees on fiat withdrawals to 15%. that's why the btc price is so much higher. fees went from 7-9-15%

Now 20%, something's up.

They identity verification of tens of thousand members alone may take several months. What do you guys think?

Hundreds of thousands even, btc-e had over 1m user accounts and it only takes 10% of those not to be duplicates and/or inactive

Huge props to btc-e for even giving up their own profit to return more coins!

So we're going down the socialised losses for fiat holder's route, seems like the only fair way, same thing bitfinex did.

Refund suggestion:

Metroid:      5$
Fontas:       0$

We shall refund so that those how have a little (< 100 ETH) will get more than 1000 ETH and those how have more (> 1000 ETH) will get under 100 ETH.

This way most of us will be happy and few of use will be extremely mad.

It's not about making the most people happy, it's about being fair.

There's no way they'll do that.

I have never spoken before.

Likely the site will come back online with a different address offering everyone to withdraw with 40% fee in 90 days.......AND IF WE WAIT?....maybe less commission.

I have never spoken before.

My analysis is that he wants to get back online and continue the trading site....likely comply enough not to get seized....likely also he has a $110,000,000 bill that he would rather fund by people selling/redeeming now than dipping into the profits of the last 6 six years as a cost of doing business.....call that a Russian mentality or non customer service attitude.....whatever.

I would ask that this proposition is clarified ..... communicate somehow that yes....you will take from unbelievers in the first 90 days 40% and charge normal fees for those who stayed......not sure the benefit. Dude: Your reputation is at stake and the next 10 years of commissions are down the tube......pay the fine....comply with the way you operate so they can't get a sealed indictment again....suck up the loss against all your profits and make money forever....smart move. Rip off people who had nothing to do with the miscreant behaviour on btc-e.com and you destroy your ability to hold a loyal following. This open source community who believes in the model you put there for us (and yourself ok) will stand behind you if you grow a set. (of balls.....for the non-English speakers who don't understand idioms).

I think everyone here will stand behind you to free the world of the idle rich in the current monetary system who treat people like cattle. Bitcoin frees all peoples and you did what you did because it was right. I will back you.

Vote 1.....phineas562 World President.....platform......a fair and equitable money system for all independent of the goons who currently rule your lives.

Phineas562 catchcry!!!

The 40% withdrawal fee for the first 90 days was posted by a fake user calling themselves pinek (not penek, the actual chat mod that had nothing to do with running btc-e anyway).

It's total nonsense.

This is a exit scam. Mafia must find them and F*K them

Request from FBI: Give the Alex to mafia.
We need to find other admins. Trust is much more important in underground work. they hadn't

calm down, we have no such proof as of now: the exchange wallets have not yet been emptied. If it were the FBI we would have had official notification and wallet transferred to one wallet as they did for for Ross Ulbricht. For an exit scam it would potentially be processed through a bitmixer, and no such thing occurred so far.

Bullsh*t.

They haven't any Honesty. they tweeted they had datacenter problem but we know they lied us. I don't want my money but i want the admins in my hands for giving them some lessons.

You know nothing. you forget their tweet.
They will come back maximally in 10 days.
I trust them and their words.
Go to hell

Didn't you say you gave up after seeing the page was seized?

Moderator of the chat btce under the nickname Pinek, said that the exchange will restore its work on August 8. A commission will be set for a withdrawal of 40% in the first 90

https://twitter.com/CoinSpot/status/891608862083731456

The real mod's name is penek, and he hasn't been a mod for over a year.

Even then, I doubt he'd know anything.

What makes you think one of the above addresses once belonged to Gox ?

Go to https://bg-bg.facebook.com/pg/goxbitcoin/posts/

Look for:

We still want to reassure you, that your funds are safe. We implemented a long time ago a cold wallet technique that can't be broken, because of the cryptographic implications.
You can see part of our funds here:
https://blockchain.info/address/18f1yugoAJuXcHAbsuRVLQC9TezJ6iVRLp
As you can see, all informations about our insolvency are greatly eaggerated!

18f1yugoAJuXcHAbsuRVLQC9TezJ6iVRLp moved 66k coins to 19QzVvFZbHV4gcvmSYw3yup5RaBXgMeXay at 2017-07-25 after basically 3 years inanctivity of that wallet. So, who is going to tell me this is a Coinbase wallet?

You realise that's a parody gox account right? Did you read the post about the suicide hotline?

I don't know i should consider myself lucky or unlucky.I cashed out 1500$ worth of bitcoin from btc-e on 22nd and after 2 days site went offline.I still got 80$ stuck there  Undecided

If all you lost is $80 I think you should consider yourself in the top 1% of luckiness

Just for reference, this should be one of the BTC-e litecoin hotwallet
Any evidence?

Followed one of my LTC deposits (made several months ago).
If someone has ever sent LTC to BTC-e can verify as well.

I can verify this is also where my LTC went

Stupid petition.

How do you know that BTC-e was shutdown by the US government?

Just because the US issue a fine notice, doesn't mean they shut them down.

There's literally an eagle page on btc-e.com right now

I'm a bit confused, I know the domain has been seized but has btc-e actually gone into bankruptcy and will we have a way to claim any funds from them?

Too soon to really answer any of these questions

Well, how far the USA hands reach? https://btc-e.nz still in control. Even though, it is also cloudflare, which is a USA company. So anytime soon, it could be gone too.
btc-e.nz WHOIS return this :
Quote
Domain Status:
440 Request Denied
So it is not even possible to access it.

Also i don't know if some of you guys remember that btc-e used the domain btc-e.ru in the past. Right now this domain redirect to another platform almost similar to btc-e with the domain name : https://exmo.me/
May be this is where our lost funds/coins will end up ? I have the feeling that this site is linked to btc-e.

Bizarre how similar the API is, the trollbox wording "ban: User XXX has been banned for XXX minutes" and a $500 min chat limit..

Either they're directly related or it's a copycat, but btc-e only has two official domains: btc-e.com and btc-e.nz

I don't think btc-e intends on running a wanted criminal website, they rely on seeming like a professional business otherwise other fiat partners cannot do business with them.

The domain going down was a signal of the intents of the US Government, they don't just want to fine BTC-e but they want it shut down. They can't run an exchange like this.

It's not like the pirate bay where some governments are going to have disagreements over what technically counts as piracy or whatever, it was a huge money laundering operation even if many legit users got caught up in it, there is no chance they will return.

Did anyone read what the shadowserver offers? Yeah they say they are there to prevent cyber crime. But perhaps BTC-E was using it. It would have been helpful in the DDOS attacks a few weeks ago. Has anybody checked the WHOIS in the past? If so, do you remember seeing a different server in use?

There is literally a domain seized page on the site.

http://btc-e.com/index.html

If the page won't load:
https://us4.proxysite.com/process.php?d=joV9uVqbU10chMTSGl7disFeeXMUh2c%3D&b=1&f=norefer

Both links don't load.

Go to https://www.proxysite.com/ select "US Server" and enter http://btc-e.com/index.html then hit go.

Trolls are everywhere

Why do you keep saying this?  Do you have the correct info to ease the trolls?

It's called denial, people will try to convince themselves that nothing is wrong regardless of the facts put in front of them.

Sorry for your loss potent, but spreading false hope at this point isn't helping anyone.

Ever heard of DNS propagation?

Yup, however, if this person is suggestion it's been seized, the seizure probably would have taken place more than 48 hours ago, and the propagation would be close to if not completed already.

Or it could be that he is trying to panic people by spreading misinformation.

How about this, tell me the DNS server he used, and I can check directly against it Smiley

Why do you think the seizure would have taken place 48hrs ago?
