Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates?

Hello everyone!!

I just bought 2 rx vega, the fantastic powercolor rx vega 64 red devil and asus strix rx vega 56.

I've been reading so many guides (boring and extensive xD, and also a little complicated for people with few time to tweak them), so I would like to get as higher hashrate on monero as possible but without flashing bios or using powerplay tables.

So, my first question is:

- How much could I expect from them with stock bios but overclocked as high as possible?

And also:

- Which is the easiest mode to obtain highest hashrate? Maybe doing like mate "Hellae" (post #513)?

"Got my 3 x Vega 56, with original BIOS, doing 1800 H/s (XMR) @ 160W each. Total system on the wall: 570W (cause iGPU is active)

The system is stable, mining non-stop.

64 bios only helps to increase power consumption... unless you use the Soft Power Table at Windows regedit. This method, way more complicated, will push the V56 to stable 1880H/s with slightly less power (560W for 3 V56).

Wattman Settings (Blockchain Beta driver):
-30% GPU Frequency;
950 HBM Frequency;
Fans at 3500 - MAX (Ignore core thermals. What you need is to have the memory below 70º to keep the high hash rate. An undervolted gpu will be fresh enough to not auto raise the blower speed, hence not cooling the memory. At 25ºC ambient temperature I needed 3500RPM set at min speed);
Power Limit -20%.

Globaldrive settings (Blockchain Beta driver):
Crossfire disabled;
HBCC on, at max memory available (I'm with 16Gb RAM)."

Thanks in advance!!

Guys, what do you think of this claymore config for gigabyte aorus rx 570 4gb with hynix mems?

-allcoins 1 -allpools 1 -fanmin 50 -fanmax 80 -cclock 1150 -mclock 2100 -cvddc 850 -mvddc 800 -dcri 40 -powlim -30

And what do you consider are good values for eth+xvg on these little beasts?

Thanks in advance

Hello mates, I have one question related to "-powlim" value used in claymore miner.

I have several rx 580 nitro+ 4gb throwing around 31,5 mhs eth + 1500 mhs xvg.

My bat file is like that:

-allcoins 1 -allpools 1 -tstop 85 -tt 55 -fanmin 40 -fanmax 60 -cclock 1200 -mclock 2100 -cvddc 850 -mvddc 950 -r 1 -dcri 50 -gser 4 -powlim -10

So could anyone share results with -powlim using rx 580 or rx 570??

Finally, I also want to ask if anyone has rx 570 aorus 4gb with hynix mems (256 kb bios) and could share its config/bios file

thanks!!!

heads up guy!

MSI Gaming X Rx570/580 are EOL or End of Life already. The backorders aren’t going to be fulfilled anymore.

Also EVGA have refunded all backorders to all supplier, distributors, wholesalers and small retailers.

Source: My guy who does bulk order direct from Taiwan.

could you explain it a bit more?

I also have another question about drivers and general config.

I haven't updated my graphic card's drivers since I installed the well-known "blockchain drivers of august"... I've only downloaded the last claymore miner and that's all.

Do you recommend me to update drivers to the lastest available?

You should uninstall the blockchain drivers as soon as you see this message.
Very buggy and many issues with clocks and voltages.
Install latest drivers.
You will be fine.

seriously??? I'll do it so!! thanks!

My miner keeps crashing with new 11.7 version. Im running an 11 gpu system consisting of 8 gtx1070 Nvidia and 3 AMD RX580 gpus with modded bios.

Running AMD version Adrenalin 17.12.2.

My system currently only works with Claymore miner v10.3 with occassional crashes once to twice a week. When I try to run v11.7, it reads the 3 AMD cards then freezes before reading the Nvidia cards. I have another Nvidia only machine that runs fine with v11.7 with same Nvidia drivers.

Im mining ETH only. What can be the issue??

Mine also crashes but don't know why....

I thought that it was produced by my last changes on bat file

What do you think about the value powerlimit of my cards? all cards are sapphire rx 580 nitro+ 4gb....... What would you recommend me to use?

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

hey there!!!

can anyone compare results on monero between 2600/2600x/2700/2700x??

I couldn't be able to find any trusted review about that, only 2700x hashrate but without comparison with the rest of the family

Thanks in advance!!

yeah, but which other coins would u suggest? zec? sia? dcr? xmr? eth is now the most profitable by far, right?

Hey mates,

I'm about to buy another rig with several gtx 1060, but I don´t know if it´s better option to spend a bit more on 6 gb models or buy 3 gb models..... because of future dag epoch so we couldn´t mine eth....

I doubt between these cards:

- msi gaming gtx 1060 x 3gb: 268€
- zotac amp gtx 1060 6 gb: 300€
- gigabyte aorus gtx 1060 6 gb: 332€

What option would you choose right now? I'm thinking about mining eth and zec.

Regards and thanks in advance

3GB cards have about 1 year of life on ETH, after that switch to something else.
However, the main thing you should be interested in is what brand of memory
each of them uses.

Samsung does 24-25, Micron does 23-24, Hynix does 18-20Mh/s

but after a year, 3 gb cards will be also valid for mining zec, right??

so, I suppose that if I receive a hynix card, I should return it ASAP xD

How profitable is RX580 nowadays? Let's say you are mining Monero, Ethereum, Verge.

It depends on how much hashrate you can squeeze out of your RX580, which depends on the card manufacturer (e.g. XFX or Sapphire) and, significantly, the vRAM manufacturer (e.g. Hynix or Samsung).
You can get a good idea of the profitability of individual coins by using this web site http://whattomine.com/calculators use the 'GPU' tab to check multiple coins at the same time http://whattomine.com/coins

I had the same question of Intellecual Romanticist, and now i'm wondring which of XFX or Sapphire / Hynix or samsung is better ?

An other question, is there a real difference between RX480 and RX580, and between RX 570 and RX580 ? and finally 4Go and 8go ?

Thanks

I would recommend you sapphire of course but it's impossible to know if their memories will be hynix/elpida/samsung

Anyway sapphire nitro+ are the best cards actually in my opinion

There's no difference mining between rx 580 4gb or 8gb

Rx 480 are not for sale you just don't question about that Smiley

Between rx 580 and rx 570 the difference is a bit hashrate, I prefer rx 580

Thanks for your answer,

So, i think i will buy RX580 4Gb, it costs less Smiley

But in france we can buy RX480 ! has it any advantage ?

as far as I know, they will hash the same but at bit low power usage

thanks for your answer but I'm totally newbie on that... you will need to explain me a bit better :S

the first problem I see is that the links you posted above are both the same and why u call them egg files?? they are not egg files :S

the first one is: setuptools-38.2.4-py2.py3-none-any.whl, not ".egg"

and the second one is a zip file, which does not contains any "ez_setup.py"

Do you have easy_install.exe in the C:\Python27\Scripts folder?

yes!!
