My NET ANNUALIZED RETURN is now even lower, -11.5%
That's really frustrating. It's like throwing money to the wind.

Yep...mine is creeping down in that direction also...all thanks to the US Users who are now defaulting en masse! Thanks BTCJam!! Undecided

When I found out that BTCjam was starting to block all U.S. clients, I remember telling someone that U.S. borrowers would use that as a "get out jail free" card, and not worry about paying back their loans. In other words, if they could never borrow again, they would have zero incentive to pay back, keep their credit in good standing.

Jam should have had a contingency plan in place knowing full well that was a major possibility. Instead, their contingency plan was "Lets not tell anyone we are going to start blocking U.S. clients, and keep it a secret until we are called out on it". They probably decided to cancel all U.S. clients, afraid of potential lawsuits, and heat from the U.S. govt, but ironically, they probably just made matters much worse for themselves when investors start looking for who's responsible for the "US Users who are now defaulting en masse!" Glad I stopped investing in people on Jam a while ago. I will stick with pop, LB, and bond.

E-mail from net-ARB received a few hours ago:
Quote
In just the past few days it has been brought to our attention that BTCjam is distributing counterfeit arbitration awards bearing our name. We regret having to send you this email, but the consequences of trying to enforce a counterfeit arbitration award can be severe, both civilly and criminally. As a former client, it is our duty to inform you.

Any net-ARB arbitration award received from BTCjam is counterfeit (specifically, BTCjam never had a copy of your award). Valid awards come only from net-ARB.

While we are happy to check the validity of your awards if you send us the documents, you can quickly and easily check the validity of all your awards at www.enforcemyarbitrationaward.com, a site run by attorney Kevin Palley. If you provide your BTCjam member number and email address, you can get a complete list of your valid, arbitrated BTCjam loans. The site uses a crowdfunding formula to make enforcement affordable. There is no cost or obligation to sign up.

Best regards,

Email from Btcjam received soon after:

Hello Valued BTCjam Member,

You may have recently received an email from net-arb stating that BTCjam is issuing counterfeit arbitration awards. Please be assured that this is not true. Unfortunately, two months ago we abruptly discovered that Net-Arb had partnered with enforcemyarbitrationaward.com and began spamming our user base. As a result, BTCjam immediately terminated service with Net-Arb. We apologize for any concern that Net-Arb's announcement caused and cannot stress enough that their claims are false.

Our goal is to provide our members with industry-leading technology and services which is why we’re glad to announce that we will be using a new arbitration award provider The Dhami Law Firm. This transition process will be streamlined for both our investor and borrower members.

All loans whose default date is on or after February 1st, 2016 will be subjected to this change.

Keep in mind that the new arbitration timeline that has been effective since January 27th, 2016 looks like this:
1. Investor receives an email notifying them that the loan will be sent to arbitration in 14-days.
2. Borrower meets 90 days delinquency after first missed payment.
3. The arbitration award is then easily accessible via the investments page on the individual investment of the listing.

Thank you for being a part of the BTCjam community.
We appreciate your continued business.

What does all this crap mean?

We accept private loans/investments. Shoot me a PM with how much you would like to lend, along with desired term/rate. With over 350 BTC total paid back to date, we are highly trusted in the crypto p2p lending community. Easily verified.

This invitation is extended to anyone else reading this post, besides OP.
Dude start your own thread for your scammy bullshit.

OP, be very careful.   Even green trust members can turn out to be scammers.  I would rethink your collateral requirement, or lack thereof.

Scammy bullshit? I am replying to OP's desire to lend coins to trustworthy borrowers. How EXACTLY is my reply scammy? Where in my post is there any hint of a scam? I don't recall saying "Hello, I am a Nigerian prince with an inheritance I need you to help me with".

Anyone can look us up on localbitcoins, btcjam, loanbase, bitbond, and btpop. CoinPro. Same username on all sites. We are far from being scammers, and have plenty of history to prove it. Send us a message on any platform, or post a message on one of our loans, to prove that we own those accounts. Or, send us a PM here on bitcointalk with a special code, and ask us to post that code in one of our loan comments.

Btcpop, loanbase, & bitbond are the top 3 (in my opinion). Its hard to say which one is best without knowing what you are looking for.

I have not heard of getline until I came across this thread. Anyone have a review?

Clean, easy to use. Needs a better directory, or categories of what is available. After 48 hours of tinkering, I like it. Adding an auction feature would definitely start cutting into eBay/PayPal's monopoly.

We have created a listing offering escrow/mediation service. Just search for CoinPro under listings. We will rebate the .0015 to the first 20 users that leave positive feedback.

The problem with a decentralized auction is, that the winner doesn't have to pay. You will have a lot of auction crashers. The people who really want to buy stuff will hardly get them. I mean, you even can write a script, that always offers 1 $ (edit: sorry 0.000whatever BTC) more than the last bid at every listing. Kind of OB DDos attacks for the lulz. Roll Eyes

That happens all day on eBay too. Scumbags bid up items with no plans on actually paying. Easy fix (which eBay should have done years ago), is require the bidder to have the funds already in account. Once auction ends, immediately transfer funds to seller. Sellers can have the option to require immediate transfer or not. Kind of like if you go to a high value auto/art/antiques/etc auction, you need to prove you have the funds, and are required to complete transaction.

Okay, now they are reviewing my docs, but the docs that I have sent are not clear? I'm using an iPhone6 for God's sake! What images do you want? whew!

Wish you best of luck, there have been a high number of scammers recently hitting BTCJam so maybe they are being careful. If I were you I would give BTCPop a try, they have much better customer service at least...plus their Ardeva vetting system seems to be a bit smoother than Jams. They are busy right now with a lot of traffic migrating over from BTCJam but all-in-all it is better!

I tried re-submitting it over the weekends so maybe later they will check out my documents, same w/ BTCPop, I just submitted my requirements over the weekends. Well its kinda frustrating as I have sent a scanned document (clear copy) and also a document using the camera of my iPhone6. I did double check my requirements and they told me that it should be clear? The copy of my documents are very clear, clear as the cleanest water in the world. So what the heck. I do hope that BTCPop (Ardeva) is not the same nor not that strick (when it comes w/ picture quality) just like BTCJam. But, I'm hoping BTCJam will approve my documents.

I am starting to notice a pattern of Jam not approving peoples documents for frivolous or cryptic reasons. Than, they do not give users any clear instructions on how to fix it, or exactly what they are looking for. They gave me the same run-around on my income verification, even though I submitted exactly what was requested on the list of approved documents. Tax documents, and bank statements. Major lending sites like ondeck and kabbage approved the exact same documents, so how they could not be good enough for jam is beyond me. There is obviously something else going on that they do not want to admit to, or they need to fire the person/team that is "verifying" certain documents.

You will have much better luck with btcpop, loanbase, or bitbond.

Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin?
by

#1. Not purchasing/mining when it first started.

#2. Overbought by 7 BTC when index was around $750. Going to sleep, waking up at $650 index. Not wanting to take a loss, and holding. It has not come back up since Tongue

#3. Sent about $10k worth of coins to a dormant address by accident. Panicked for about 8 hours thinking I sent them to an old client, or random person. Luckily they showed up in an account I owned. Now that I own a Trezor, almost impossible to make that mistake ever again.

You can invest with us Smiley, or you could join btcpop, loanbase, or bitbond.

Btcpop offers a 5% APR savings account ATM. Probably, one of the "safest" way to grow coins. They also have an instant loan pool that pays out every time an instant loan is paid back. You can add/remove your funds from the Instant Loan pool, or the 5% savings account any time you wish, so there is essentially no risk in losing funds (assuming the website never goes under).

Poloniex also offers a pretty safe way to grow your coins through its lending program.

Has BTCPop fixed the savings account feature yet? I had around ,1 that sat in there for over a week and nothing was earned...Would be nice if they had an account statement feature that shows earned interest on a daily basis...

I believe so. I had a few coins in there just to test it out, about a week ago, and I received payout. Also withdrew it from saving into main account. No issues.

They do have a statement that gives you a breakdown of the earned interest, and detailed payouts on the instant loan pool. Every time someone pays back an instant loan, it shows up in the statement immediately.

Find out if the forum member has an account with loanbase. btcpop, or bitbond. Send them a message on one of their active or paid loan pages to confirm they actually own it. Check their rating and loan history. Do not get fooled by "boosted" accounts with a lot of tiny reputation loans.

I don't think the owners of BTCJam has the time to check every single thread on bitcointalk. Maybe they don't know about this thread yet.

Valid point, and I thought about that before posting. You are correct, the owners probably would not have enough time, but they should be paying someone to check up on threads on a weekly, or daily basis though. A "social media" team/person if you will. I'm sure some people would even do it for free for them, or for lower/no loan fees.

Im not advocating checking every forum, but at least the top 5. eBay/PayPal do not stay on top of people selling boosted/fake/hacked accounts, and now, its a total sh*t show/nightmare for all users.

Re: How much would you trust trezor?
by

on 14/01/2016, 05:28:26 UTC
I wish I had the Trezor about three months ago when I thought I lost about $10K worth of coins, sending them to a wrong address, ha! Luckily, it was a dormant wallet # I owned/forgot about, that I sent the coins to by accident. Had it not been, I would have been VERY upset with myself Tongue Been using for about a month now (thank you shadow  Smiley), and I am starting to see more benefits than I expected.

After hearing from a client how he got his coins stolen from a script/virus that automatically changed his clipboard, and he sent his coins to a scumbag, I am glad to have my trezor. There is a two-step process when sending coins which forces you to make sure all of your "i's are dotted/t's are crossed" before sending. I don't have the brain of a robot, and could possibly be distracted by a few outside influences sometimes, so its a nice option to have on the Trezor. If you are sending large amounts of coin in single transactions, the Trezor is a great option.

I see some comments with people concerned about the price. It would pay for itself the first time you could have potentially lost $100 worth of coins. Just say'n  Wink

BTCjam has blocked all users that do not have "verified income" from creating new loans (even if you are A rated), so these accounts would be worthless. Just a heads up to anyone thinking of purchasing. Not unless someone wanted to use them for just investing, but not sure why anyone would spend $$$, when they could just create free proxy accounts do do so.

Note: I am assuming they are not "income verified", because I am not sure how orryde could possibly verify income on 3 different accounts with the same name/IP/mac address/etc. That would be a major security flaw with btcjam if possible. They also only allow up to two loans per user, so that would let people circumvent the max amount of loans. Another serious issue if possible.

The fact that there is someone selling A and B rated accounts IS a major security flaw.

Nobody that represents BTCjam has replied to this thread, which is a bit concerning. If I owned BTCjam, and saw this, #1, I would shut those accounts down, and than #2, let the BTC community on bitcointalk know about it. Just say'n.

BTCJAM:
1. Registration on the site BtcJam.com + verification by email
2. Upload your copy of the identification (passport) or your driver license to your profile + from both sites your photo with document.
3. Verification of your address – electricity bill, telephone bill etc.
4. Verification of your Paypal, Ebay, Coinbase etc history.
5. Verification of your connection on social pages like Facebook, Linked In, Twitter etc.
6. Verification of your telephone – classic SMS
7. You can upload your Salary too
8. Verification of your credit card and bank account

So all of this needs to be done in order to get a loan?

If you can not verify income, you can not start a loan at all. So your best bet is to have them pre-qualify your income documents before you waste your time with all of the other verifications. Check out my posts about "income verification". I have tried unsuccessfully for about a year now (37 pages of documents total to this date). Income that is very easily verified BTW, with bank stamp, and manager business card. If they actually do verify your income, I would be amazed, and please come back here and tell us what documents you uploaded that were successful.
