But it's more complicated to recover than just a normal bip39 type of wallet. I believe it was a bip84🤔? And I don't know if it was legacy or segwit, segwit legacy etc.
BIP84 refers to the script type of your addresses and it means that your addresses are segwit and start with bc1. Your seed phrase should be BIP39 and you should be able to recover your wallet in electrum.
I'm going to give it a shot. Samurai was real çomplicated though. I used to use the whirlpool and it would send copycat type transaction with it to basically make it more anonymous or less likely to be tracked(no idea why I thought that was a good idea)

The very first Bitcoin address I ever used to deposit into it all the sudden is showing on electrum that there were transactions made to and from that address literally last month so I'm just perplexed
I still don't have a clear understanding of your problem with signing a message. You deposited to freebitco before and now you want to sign a message from that to prove your ownership over the account. Am I getting you correctly? If so, where does that address belong to? Where did you deposit to freebitco from?
Did you import the address to electrum? If so, how did you do that? If you just imported the address, you created a watch-only wallet and you can't sign message from that.
So I originally used coinbase trading platform to deposit the transactions to free Bitcoin. That's why I can't sign the messages because I didn't know at the time what signing a message even was or that it was a thing. So because I used the exchange platform I screwed myself. Then I switched over to samurai wallet only to be let down yet again because the samurai wallet app is now seized by the feds. I have my recovery words for it and my password, even a pin number and a pay my username. But it's more complicated to recover than just a normal bip39 type of wallet. I believe it was a bip84🤔? I guess I always misunderstood Electrum 2FA then, I thought it was solely for signing transactions, and even on their documentation it seems to say you can disable it by just entering the seed phrase to create a new wallet and then disable 2FA. It did strike me as the point of failure so it makes sense now.

The user can stand with an Electrum Standard Wallet, because it uses a single private key behind each address.If I'm not mistaken, 2fa for Electrum is only needed if you want to sign transaction, not sign address.
Electrum 2FA wallet is a multi-signature wallet and you can't sign message from that at all. You can even get your seed without 2fa.

Ok I responded to that last message to quickly then read this message underneath. There are just some many weird things about this situation though that don't make sense. For one. Even though I wasn't able to access my account, I was still receiving emails every week showing how much my compounding interest was gaining with what I had in there. In May all the sudden it just stopped and seemed like somehow the account lost all it's value. Secondly. Thank y'all very much. I do use electrum. The issue I'm having is it not allowing me to reset my 2fa even though it says it will take 8 days then nothing happens I've done it more times than I can count and it said I have to login from the area I last logged in which is in another state. I thought I had the secret key but it's saying it's wrong. Just a big old mess. Been driving me absolutely crazy. Is it possible for me to deposit into it again and sign the message that way? I apologize for the many questions. I feel like a 3rd grader when it comes to understanding and accumulating knowledge for this. I appreciate the patience
Hey guy, like @hosseinimr93 says, you don't need to own any amount in your wallet, to sign any address inside the wallet.
If I'm not mistaken, 2fa for Electrum is only needed if you want to sign transaction, not sign address. You can even get your seed without 2fa.
So get it from your Electrum, make a new wallet, choose restore, and get your wallet from the seed. I'm very sure the new wallet won't have 2fa.
Ok, I am going to read this over a few times. I had no idea that was possible. How do I get my seed? I feel so dumb for consistently attempting different things to access it since 2020! I even talked to The Quinn at that period in time and it was at the exact time frame he stopped assisting everyone.

So for this particular example I had used samurai wallet which is actually now seized and not usable because the creators were arrested by the feds for money laundering. However, when I was attempting to make my first one I just used a new address of mine that I hadn't used for anything yet.
If you can't use samurai wallet for any reason, you can import your wallet into other softwares and sign a message there. I recommend you to use electrum.
Download electrum only from its official website.

Ok thank you for that, now suppose I had created a signed message myself and then when I go to put it in and verify, it shows invalid. Why would that be?
That means that you did something incorrectly. If you sign the message correctly, it should be verifed. What software did you use for signing message?

As long as you don't share your private key, you are safe. You can share your signed message.To verify your signed message, the message, the signature and the address are required.

I deposited a small amount to see if it would help me find a way to sign a message for verification. But idk if the one I did is correct and don't want to post something that could cause insecure info to breach the account

This is very common with custodial services like casinos and exchanges. When you make a deposit, they will sweep the funds into either cold storage or a hot wallet. Freebitco.in had a certain threshold where if a deposit was too small it would not get swept until much later, which is why the $15 deposit was untouched for a while. As long as your balance is credited with the amount you deposited, you have not been scammed. If you have the private key to the specific address where any of these deposits originated from then you should be able to sign a message.

I was finally somehow able to get the password changed and it somehow showed me as unbanned.🤷🏽♂️ I put my address into electrum and it shows someone depositing an amount then withdrawing my recent deposit plus the money deposited so I am wondering how I got scammed out of that
The site is a little haywire atm, however every address on freebitco is an alias address that links to their main hot wallet. what's more important is that you can withdraw the funds from your freebitco account.
For those watching this forum. Long time users are trying to gauge the useability of the site. I haven't heard any issues with withdrawals and interest so far. It seems that the addon services like WoF and some of the raffles may be acting up. People seem to still be getting communications from the website directly. Just know that many people are watching both the cold wallets of freebitco as well as how the site is being managed.
So far it is still a legitimate service with some issues. I've been using the site since 2017 and have seen it survive a database crash. The only issue I have with the current running of the site is that their current communication is super slow now. I wish they would give us a weekly digest even if a little vague. (even a monthly digest).

The secret key for 2FA should be 16 characters long (letters and numbers).You also mentioned Samourai wallet. Do you have your 12-word seed for that wallet? If you do, you can import it to another Bitcoin wallet like Electrum and then sign a message for the bitcoin address used for deposit on freebitco.in.
So then thateaves the question of how am I all the sudden banned from an account I haven't even accessed in years? Now that I may have a solution I can't check it because the account has been blocked. Unless someone else was using it Improperly? How can I dispute this? That is why the password can't be reset. The account was recently banned and it was within the last month.

Ok, so I have posted a few few times times but have yet to successfully get the help I need. Some due to my post being in the wrong area. Also some extremely rude person decided to report a trust thing on my account so don't mind that.
So, I have been attempting to regain access to my account for a few years now with no luck. I tried resetting my 2fa account many times, however it says I am unable to unless I can go to old location I use to login from but that is 1000 miles away from where I have moved too. I use to get my emails showing my account interest accumulation but no longer do. I think somehow the account has been emptied.
Now even when I try to change the password, it tells me the link I try to click is expired or no longer valid even if I access it right away.
Back when I was using the account I was unaware about the whole signing and authenticating messages, transactions, etc as well as using coinbase and samurai wallet for my deposits so cannot sign the transactions. However I do have access to the coinbase account with the transactions still. What do I do?

Ok. I am not giving up though. And now after years of trying to get into my account I clicked on my free spin at the bottom of the promotion emails and all the sudden I am now banned. Which has to be my account has been compromised. How can I get banned for absolutely nothing considering I have not been able to log in for 3 years? This is absurd. I have always always made it a point to specifically follow all guidelines as well.. I also am trying to remember what format would my secret key be in cause I can't remember and I have so many keys and what not saved and written down places but have nothing written to or title to use as reference to pick what is for what like an idiot. - You can use a VPN to login from an IP of that area.
I tried that unfortunately it hasn't worked. I think it's expecting me to login from the wifi at the old house
