Re: How many [btc]-addresses can be created for each seed phrase?
by
Dailyscript
on 01/05/2025, 01:26:26 UTC
I believe this question is more related to bitcoin technical aspects and I am asking this question in this section rather than in the section dedicated to hardware wallets.
Mnemonic algorithms like BIP-39 are essentially a Key Derivation Function[1] themselves (BIP39 uses PBKDF2 under the hood as well) and KDFs don't really have a limit on how many keys they can generate. You should be able to generate an unlimited number of them as long as you can change the inputs of the KDF and in case of BIP-39, you can do that since it takes 2 inputs: the mnemonic and the passphrase (the extended words).

On top of that you have the derivation path which has some limitations like the depth but by changing the index and the path itself you can generate virtually unlimited number of keys. That is: m/0, m/1, m/2, ... m/0/0, m/0/1, ..., m/0/2, ..., m/1/0, m/1/1, m/1/2, ..., m/0/0/0, m/0/0/1, ...

[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Key_derivation_function
I didn’t realize just how much the system can vary not just with the seed phrase itself, but also how many different directions you can go. This explains better to the OP why wallets can support so many accounts or addresses from a single seed.

Quick one though, in practice, do you think changing the passphrase is more secure than just relying on deep path branching? For example if someone brute-forces a seed, is a strong passphrase still a decent second line of security?

I feel if somene steals your seed phrase they cant access your wallets without the correct passphrase. It is like a second layer of protection.

Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2024/2025
by

Everton are one of the best team to create huge surprises results ever since David Moyes took over the club as the manager. I never expected Everton to be able to beat Nottingham Forest at the City Ground stadium yesterday but they did it in an impressive way with a last minute goal scored by Abdoulaye Doucoure, it seems that Nottingham Forest are paying a huge price for losing the ball to the Everton player which led to a goal that costed them all 3 points.
As is stance now in the premier league Everton is the most strongest team that can never win easily when playing with the big teams in the premier league. However, if am not mistaking they have draw with all the teams in the premier league this season, yesterday I was very surprised about their performance against Nottingham forest, due to the fact that their were not enough time in the game again. but I was very shork to see that Everton end up in securing the three points.
Everton getting a draw with all the premier league don't mean they are the strongest. Every team have a pattern of play that makes them win, for now Everton team is not playing to win their patter is to get at least a draw in every game to keep them from going to relegation. This pattern requires them to defend aggressively for complete 90 minutes while seizing any counter opportunity or they win a corner kick.

Re: The risk in bitcoin is worth taking.
by
Dailyscript
on 13/04/2025, 10:05:42 UTC
The reason why I said the risk in bitcoin is worth taking is because, back then bitcoin started as an experimental digital currency, but now it has gradually and continuously improve in growth and transformed over time into global class asset that have attracted millions of investors because of it decentralized and transparent nature.
If we can recore back over the decade bitcoin has outperformed traditional assets like gold, stocks and bonds, making bitcoin the best and number one asset both in crypto space and in the traditional assets.
But If bitcoin is the best and still maintaining the number one asset both in crypto space and in the traditional assets why is people still referring to bitcoin as a high risk investment, (or is it because of it volatile nature) or what……?  I know bitcoin is not risk free you can either profit or loose but when you understand how bitcoin works and it nature you will be at the safer side.
I and my friends just had an arguement, they said anything called cryptocurrency including bitcoin is very risky and the Risk is not worth taking.

Of course, Bitcoin is not risk-free. But the risk we are talking about is now far away. So we can say that Bitcoin is currently risk-free. But ordinary people who do not know what the risk of Bitcoin is, they think that the price is low, therefore the risk of Bitcoin.

I want to tell them that the low price is not a risk of Bitcoin, but rather it is a feature of Bitcoin. If you look at the features of Bitcoin, you will see that the price is low and the price is high.
If you invest wrongly you will lose your investment. So many factors are needed to have a successful investment. Your decision matter, your financial level, strategy, risk tolerance, including other method for aggressive buying.

You are terrible in communicating things about bitcoin I just noticed. I am still confused up till now. What is the low price is not a risk but a feature of bitcoin? Please elaborate on this to clarify for understanding.

I go advice you to settle down with bitcoin you no really need to invest for any shitcoins for now because those coins Sabi drain person portfolio. You know say that one dem dey manipulate am well. But hard to see say dem manipulate bitcoin. Bitcoin na the only digital currency without manipulation. After you get enough bitcoin for account you go try invest small for altcoin but they careful.

Re: Casino owner or game owner?
by
Dailyscript
on 12/04/2025, 23:54:35 UTC
No matter the hypothetical, and your point of view I still doubt that game owner will be more profitable than casino owners. You need to know that Casino owners have the right to accept or decline any offer given to them by game owners.
For me, casino owners and game owners are doing well in business, provided they are successful at it, and both have their challenges at the same time. You only looked at the possible challenge of a game owner but didn't look at the possible challenge of a casino, which makes it unfair. The way the casino owners can decline to use the software created by a game owner is the same way most casinos sort for game owners because they can't do without their games anymore, and even new casinos sort more for them to become well-established. So, this boils down to the success/failure of either of them if all conditions are weighed correctly.
That is both parties work hand in hand to give a better service. Anyone we choose is making money like the other but one must be making more than the other. Well we can not compare casino to game owners but considering the fact that there are many casinos now in the industry where most of them make use of the same casino games. This means the game owners make money from different casinos owners.

There is  a problem though. Game owners can lose if there games are not needed anymore in a casino. But the casino cannot lose if they still have many users.

You mean the kind of luck that happens when I used my school fees to stake a football bet on a 2.0 odd and eventually I came out winning and I had my school doubled, at that time I had no extra funds to buy my course materials, but when my luck played out I felt so good that I took that risk at that time. So to say that my luck played out at the right time.
No. the reverse actually. The luck that you had lost your tuition fee in an attack and heartbroken you used the $20 you had left to play on a casino not because you wanted to double your money and get back your fees but because it was what you felt at the time to do. And when you did it you had an unexpected multiplier and won big. You were able to pay your fees and use the extra to sort out your books and other living expenses.
My friend sold his 55 inches TV $250 to pay for a trip to meet with a business client only for him to reach  the place they rejected his proposal. He came back home with only $101. He used it to gambler won $800. He bought he bought another TV but this time 65 inches for $400. And then managed with the money left until he gets a pros-pectic client. I was at his home when he made all this move. The funny thing is i tried to discourage him from selling his TV.

Re: Cash out ETH winnings

If he uses a KYC exchange, even for small amounts, could authorities link his wallet to him?

Every transaction can be searched online. For ETH transactions you can use ethplorer.io to track it. If they care to track it will take them to finding the exchange used to receive the money. Of course upon deep research they can link it.

Could banks or tax offices freeze his account or ask for explanations if more money starts showing up?

This will depend on how the Germany account policies works. There are different tier when opening an account, higher tiers will receive higher amount that the lower tiers. Account freezing will occur if he uses a lower tier to receive an amount that is higher than his limit.

Would this be counted as "assets" and disqualify him from his student support?

This i dont know.

At the time of writing this bitcoin is at $85,459.37. A lot of speculators has been proved wrong. The moment i heard about the bloomberg analyst i knew he was saying it to get the attention of people of which his planned worked perfectly well. Many enthusiast where all over his social media pages to criticize him for making a false speculation. I am happy bitcoin is winning no matter what anyone says about it. And this is another day for us to make our own decision rather than listening to what fake analyst have to say.

What will cost conflict with the USA and Iran. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is gradually coming to an end because it is endless which is not what they should be fighting against. The real war should be against the impossible for human like aging, sickness, fragility of the entire human body. Everyday humans die so if we keep killing ourselves though war, out of the number that will be killed as a result will be the future doctors, lawyers, scientist and anyone who will bring solution to the problems human face.

Re: Bitcoin Adoption 2025: How Close Are We to Mass Everyday Use?
by

on 12/04/2025, 22:56:34 UTC
I’m not asking from an investment perspective but rather about practical, everyday use.

Can Bitcoin realistically become a common method for daily transactions?  please guys, I’d love to hear your insights, especially if there are factors I might have overlooked.
I get your point very well. In terms of everyday use bitcoin may not be a common method for carrying out transactions in physical business. I noticed that anything digital will always want to be operated digital, bitcoin has increased in the number of platforms that uses it as a means for payment in bulk and quick purchase. Some individuals pay their children levy in diaspora by sending to their children's wallet. For common means of payment like person to person interaction it will take a long time for people to adopt it that way. The volume of people that are using it for investment is higher than those who use it to carry day to day transactions.

Re: Few rich people want this the self validation trough other people
by

on 12/04/2025, 22:46:52 UTC
There is nothing wrong in having self validation. They worked hard for their money, they got the money so it is not a problem. If you think it is a problem then get the money first and we will see how you respond to things. The rich has bigger things to think about in life. From how to get strong allies like friend and business partners. Dont expect them to care for lesser things. Dont also expect them to be in a gathering of the poor because they cant. The poor has limited opportunities for them. But if they see someone who has big idea for business they can have a good discussion with him/her not minding if he is poor or not. That is one way you will see the rich come so low to have a good discussion with a poor person.

The things we consider devilish that happens around us may be out of our own imaginations to call it the hand of the devil at work. The devil if he does exist will be on the other side wondering what he did wrong to be blamed. Sometimes i wonder what is wrong with humans because who justifies something is good or bad, right or wrong, what if the things we we think are meant to be are not really meant to be. Everyone works in different way, we have different believe so which one is to be accepted or not accepted as away of lie we dont know.

on 12/04/2025, 22:25:37 UTC
The reason I believe why PayPal isn’t mostly considered as an option, or gained a not so great reputation is most likely due to a lot factors. There the account freezing, yeah PayPal can easily freeze your account over little issues that you guys could’ve just easily resolved, and even when you try to contact them for resolution, their customer support response is just awful which is a another red flag. There’s also the issue of fee dispute, account limitations, policy changes and a lot of other reasons/issues.
You wont blame Paypal from prioritizing security to build trust for legit users. The reason why Paypal will restrict your account is when you undergo fraudulent transaction or you lie about your locality. I have been using Paypal for years now and i have not been restricted from anything because i keep to their policies. Paypal has been very useful to me because i can use it in everywhere i travel to. Before Payapal will restrict your account they will definitely inform you and then give you a warning ahead of time.

Re: Why something like Bitcoin is needed to preserve wealth now more than ever
by
Dailyscript
on 12/04/2025, 22:04:18 UTC
Well, keeping lump sum of money in the bank is a bad mistake that anyone would do now. We have talked about this even before now that Trump is making everything go more crazy. Keeping money in the bank is just meaningless except the person is only keeping the amount they are using for daily needs but keeping huge amount for the process of savings is just a waste of waiting time because the devaluation of money will affect your saved funds and inflation will also affect it. Investing in Bitcoin is not a bad option but also not putting all your eggs in one basket is a smart idea.
Keeping money in the bank is a stupid thing to do, because the bank will gain more than you who have the money. Only that knowledge of what the bank will do to my money will never let me think of keeping my money in the bank. A good way to use your money is to invest in an asset with less volatility while some money can be invested in an asset like bitcoin which will be kept for long term. If the savings in mind was for retirement i will suggest putting it entirely on bitcoin for 6 to 10 years. That is much better than leaving it in the bank where the value will keep decreasing due to inflation.

If bitcoin will reach $500 again i will kill myself. The money i have in bitcoin right now is not something i will like to hear that bitcoin dropped to $500. From $100k to $500 is a very huge drop, if bitcoin will drop so much like that why should i trust them to invest when they are showing sign of going to $0. Anything that will make Bitcoin fall below $10k i wont have anything to do with it.

It actually takes a smart person to sell you a faulty services so you can say their aren't smart, you actually should not blame the business man alone if you get any faulty goods but the manufacturer of those substandard goods and also the government that lets then keep running. Every country should have a body or institution that are in charge of making sure that substandard goods aren't in the market.

I don't know where you manufacture your statistics but it is not easy to do business now successfully especially now that the global economy is not as it use to be and many people are actually doing the same business or very similar.
Very true buddy. For someone who is dumb to sell a bad product to a buyer successfully without the buyer noticing is as a result of two things. Its either they careless on what they are buying or they are not paying close attention to things. Although some sellers can be very tricky when they know the good if bought cannot be returned. But that is not a good way of doing business, in the end i can say they are foolish because no one return to buy anything from them again. They will lose customers faster than other trustworthy buyers.

Re: Is US lossing reserve currency status?
by
Dailyscript
on 12/04/2025, 21:01:38 UTC

some people say that when a nation starts to spend more in the debt interest than their defense budget this is also a signal that they'll fall soon and this is happening to the us as well

so, nobody can know for sure but it definitely is a possibility

And again when the current president of US, Mr. Trump had embraced Bitcoin and announced it as a strategic reserve, countries that patronize the dollar might not see any need for using dollar anymore. At least we already know that the China and Russia agreement was not in dollar. So as the users (Countries) of dollars begin to think deeper regards making bitcoin a strategic reserve, they might give an interpretation that might not make them keep dollar as their reserve because many countries reserve there money in dollar, also cost and value it in dollar. Therefore making agreement to use bitcoin for bilateral transactions and dollar would begin to lose value.

Think on the brighter side of things. If you look well the dollars wont lose value if people dont reserve it anymore because they will surely reserve it. Trump policies will make the dollar gain value when they reserve bitcoin, but there will be regulations on the dollar directly as the price of bitcoin keeps fluctuating. At the time the US will sell their reserved bitcoins dollar will skyrocket too so for those who hold their dollar before then will be on major profit.
