Wow, I really like your chart. I also write down my daily reports, although sometimes I share them here, but not always. You have organised them very nicely. Do you think you will always write them down? I have bought a separate notebook where I write down my daily reports. Keep it up, you have taken an excellent initiative.

I used to keep Excel sheets to record my workouts. Tracking progress this way is definitely very useful. And once it becomes a habit, you build up a serious database over the years. Honestly, when I first saw this thread, it reminded me of those days. Now I just write down my daily push-ups here and I don't need to do anything else. Dirtykeyboard takes care of the rest. Smiley

Re: 2025 NBA Season
by

This is their roster for the upcoming season, 2025-2026.
https://www.espn.com/nba/team/roster/_/name/por/portland-trail-blazers

So it looks like it will not be as competitive as other teams in the West. It's good that they take Dame back and for sure that Dame is happy as he might retire to the City that draft him and where he really become a good player. But to be able to bring this roster to at least in the playoff? It might be a tall order as others have said already, Dame might be in the stage that his body is deteriorating. Although there is some good names in the list, but again, the West is going to be a very competitive conference with everyone improving their line-up.

That looks like a lottery team. With this roster they won't even match last season's 36 wins. If they manage to win 30 games they'll be lucky. Also let's not forget that Lillard won't be playing the whole season.
We can't know what will happen next season. They could make several other trades. Lillard will be much older and after all these injuries, he won't be able to carry the team even if he wants to. So unless a miracle happens, the Trail Blazers' rebuild will take quite a long time.

Ops, I never knew it's how it works.
If so, OP has a valid point.
Maybe another person from the local can apply for merit source in the interim.

They might have to wait quite a while for that. New merit sources were added based on existing applications. If there were members who wanted to be a merit source, they should've applied. We don't know when theymos will make an update again but I don't think it will be anytime soon. In the past, there were also members who were merit sources but weren't active on the forum or didn't use their source allocations at all. I don't think irfan_pak10 being active or not will change much. Especially if there are already two more sources in that local section, they won't have any problems. Still, if they're in need, all members can PM me good posts in their local board. I'd be happy to check and evaluate them in my free time.

The chants for Jota in the 20th minute were nice. Ekitike had a very impressive start for Liverpool. First goal in Community Shield and another one in his first league game. When Gakpo scored, he was left far too unmarked inside the box. Bournemouth countered very well though, scoring their first goal with just two passes. Then Semenyo went 70 meters with the ball to score his second goal. Just when Bournemouth seemed to be back in the game, Liverpool scored twice in the final minutes, so we can say they got away with this one. They might not be this lucky in every match.
Also, the racist chants towards Semenyo is unacceptable. The racist Liverpool fans should receive a serious punishment.

Girona lost their first home leg 3-1, with Rayo clearly ahead. Girona had a poor start to La Liga. After a fantastic season two years ago, they've become an average team.

Because everyone at Girona did everything they could to lose, starting with Gazzaniga. De Frutos also did everything to help Rayo win. It was clear from the first minute that Rayo were better prepared for the match. They sealed the game in the first half with three goals.
It was a nice La Liga opener. Just like last season, Rayo look like a strong contender to finish in the top 8 this year. On the other hand Girona showed no good signs and could once again face relegation danger.

I didn't follow the markets much today but I see now everything has turned red. Profit-taking was expected after ATH. However in some coins it's frustrating to see a week's worth of gains wiped out in a single day. In Bitcoin the loss is more limited and it's already starting to recover. Everyone can now see how strong Bitcoin has become.

Re: How do developing countries end up escaping poverty?
by
EFS
on 14/08/2025, 23:46:35 UTC
The most important point is to have an independent and proper administration. As long as there are corrupt governments, no matter how many resources a country has, they can't improve. Countries with economies dependent on external sources can't be independent in governance either.
Development is one of the most important factors for a country. If income distribution is not fair, even a country with vast resources can't become a developed nation. We know many large countries with oil and natural gas etc. whose people remain poor. We also know many small countries with no land for even agriculture that have become world leaders. In the end, it all comes down to solid governance.

Bitcoin is very bullish and investors are loving it. Seems the early hours would record another ATH. What a time to be a bitcoin investor, $122.8k and counting. I suppose it would touch the $124k margin tonight. Let's spice the period up with more pushups.

It's not a surprise for us but an enjoyable rise. This time, the ATH attempt was successful. Let's keep watching with curiosity to see where this wave takes us and celebrate the new ATH's. We believed in this. Those who didn't can either watch Bitcoin from the sidelines or join us. Freedom of choice.

Added 300 today, 100 extra for ATH celebration.

I see some active members in the bench. Don't stay away for too long. If you take too much time off, it's hard to get back. Smiley

If you'd like to add an ab workout alongside your push-ups, there's an 8-minute video you can do anywhere. You could give it a try.

It was an easy opponent and an easy win for Real Madrid today. I have high hopes for Real Madrid this season. Xabi Alonso is a good manager, has flexible decisions, and has a lot of faith in the young players. Ancelotti gave Arda Güler almost no opportunity last season; he gave him opportunities and trusted him.

Ancelotti was unaware of Arda Güler's potential, but he wasn't aware of it. We saw how effective Arda Güler can be against WSG Tirol today, even though they're a tough team, it's a clear indication of what Arda Güler can do when he's at his feet.

WSG Tirol were a very weak opponent. They narrowly avoiding relegation in the Austrian league last season. I don't understand why Real Madrid chose them for their only pre-season match. However, this match isn't a benchmark in any way. Since they played in the CWC over the summer, Real Madrid started the new season late and didn't have much time to play friendlies. On Tuesday, they'll play their first league match and they shouldn't have much trouble against Osasuna.
Rodrygo is rumored to be on his way out but today he came on as a substitute and scored a goal. Real Madrid's midfield looks weak to me. They can't play an entire season with just Ceballos, Tchouameni and Arda. They definitely need to make a transfer in the midfield.

Everton signed Jack Grealish on loan with an option to buy. The purchase option is £50 million. I think it's a great transfer for them. Grealish hadn't been getting much playing time at Manchester City for the past two seasons. For him, moving to a team where he'll play regularly is a good move. Maybe he won't have much of a chance to win trophies, but he'll have the opportunity to play consistently and take on a leadership role in the team. He could play a role similar to his Aston Villa days.

Re: USA announces 50% tariffs on Brazil

Raising tariffs only blocks trade for those countries themselves. The world is now so globalized that any country increasing tariffs isolates itself and ends up doing harm to its own economy. Unfortunately, the US is making the same mistakes Türkiye did, making decisions without much thought. They only realize these decisions were wrong years later, after suffering significant losses. When they first elected Trump, they didn't see it as a mistake and now they have to endure 4 more years under this poor administration. At least they don't have a system where someone can stay in power for life. They'll have a chance to correct these mistakes eventually.

Barcelona decided to pick its La Liga match against Villarreal to be played outside of Spain and submitted its demand to La Liga which apparently accepted the request and sent it to UEFA which seems to accept the suggestion too and it is up to FIFA to accept or refuse it.
Since the match will be played in USA, Miami, then I suppose FIFA will not try to annoy the president especially that the big event, World Cup, will take place next year in USA.
Back to Barcelona request, apparently there is some earning that will go directly to them to fill their always empty boxes.

I came to join the discussion after reading this news as well. I guess playing the match in the US both brings financial gains to the teams, promotes the US ahead of the World Cup and aims to enter the US market which has huge potential. So, we can call it a win-win situation for all parties involved. In the past, things like this would've been opposed, but now globalism and marketing have grown so much that no one who sees the money will make much noise about it.
I think the only issue is the flight distance. If the players can travel without being too affected by jet lag, we might see plenty more of these matches in the future.

I just checked the fixture. The opening week is actually pretty good. Arsenal will play away game with Manchester United. It'll be a good test right at the start of the season. Arsenal have been dominating Manchester United for quite some time. Last season Manchester United were already very poor. They lost almost half of their matches. This time they'll want to start with a clean slate.

I think Manchester City will beat Wolverhampton easily. Spurs will also win probably. As for Liverpool and Chelsea, I'm not so sure though.

I rested yesterday and it felt good, today I'm back. Added 200 more with 20 push-ups in 10 sets as usual.
Bitcoin made another ATH attempt but it wasn't very strong. After hitting over 122k, it pulled back to the 118's. I still see the overall sentiment as positive. It will make new ATH attempts.

It would've been understandable if he had said 100 years, but saying 1000 years changes the gravity of the matter. It's impossible to predict how something that emerged only 16 years ago will impact the next 1000 years. Considering the speed of technological advancement, making such a statement does nothing but trivialize the issue. In my opinion 1000 years from now there will be neither the US dollar nor gold. It's even doubtful whether the Earth will still be habitable. We all believe in Bitcoin's future, that's why we're here. But saying Bitcoin will still be the most valuable asset 1000 years from now is not a claim to be taken very seriously.

It's undeniable that Barcelona's play is increasingly solid. Even in preseason matches, they appear more enthusiastic, and their solidity allows the club to perform optimally, even in preseason matches. And Yamal, yes, despite the various criticisms and controversies surrounding his attitude, we must admit that his contribution to Barcelona is very high, and he's playing very well.

In this preseason match, Yamal has scored four goals and one assist in four matches.

Since the Joan Gamper Trophy is a pre-season match, players don't usually play with full intensity but Barca still showed that they are a far superior team compared to Como. They easily scored 5 goals and missed at least 3 clear chances. Goals from Fermin Lopez, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal showed they are all well-prepared for the season. The fact that Yamal is still only 18 makes it even more exciting. He's already playing like a 40-year Barcelona veteran. After Messi, he's become a great reason for everyone to watch Barca's brilliant football again. I'm sure he'll increase both his goal and assist numbers this season.

Not everyone who earns a lot of money makes good investments. There are NBA players who made a fortune yet went bankrupt, even ending up on the streets. The first ones that come to my mind are Delonte West and Antoine Walker. They had solid careers, but that doesn't mean they could hold onto the fortune they earned from the NBA. The last time I saw Delonte West, he was in a pretty bad state. So, just as there are good examples, there are also bad ones. Right now, NBA players are signing incredible contracts and many of them don't even live up to those deals. Among them, there will also be players who will go bankrupt in the future due to bad investments.

Since it's a pre-season cup, it's not worth putting too much weight on Liverpool, but Crystal Palace gave them a good lesson. I wasn't expecting them to fight for the title with the same hunger and excitement this season anyway. Although Slot is trying to play the same game, they've already shown the first signs -especially Salah- that they won't be as good as last season. Wirtz and Frimpong made their debut and they were quite good. However, the rest of the team couldn't keep up with them. Like many champion teams, they also seem to have some complacency.
