In my opinion cryptocurrency have patterns to learn. When it will raise and when it will goes down. You can see the history of the chart and make a analysis on it. For example, the price of one or some coin raised up in the end of year. When at Q1 the price start goes down. This thing can happen again in the next year. But maybe in different price.
Yes I agree that the prices have some pattern on ups and downs. But really that pattern was not being programmed. The only thing they can rely is on the supply and demand of the cryptocurrency, which determines their ups and downs. It is really not advisable right now to do panic sell. But right now , we have no choice but to do it. Because most of the coins and tokens right now are still getting low. And we want to get out of that zone.

I think whitepaper will not give you a lot of insight about the project basically whitepaper is a concept and it can't be trusted at all remember there is a lot of developers were changing its plan during the development. I know to know about the project if it's a scam.

You should try to do a deep research about the project just like the code, the team and legal support
I see your good point on how it would be protected from the dump. But when the investors or the bounty hunters and even the holders decided to sell their coins or dump it on its lowest price, we have no control about it. The market decides the projects future.
Until the project complies on their promises and their timeline I have to sold those tokens. Selling early tokens is still not a good way to earn much profit. It is about believing on the project and holding coins in long term.
Many projects do bounty campaign in order for them to boost their sales result, and easily get the hardcap before the timeline period ends. Because many users will know the project because of multi-platform advertisement.
