try True Detective

Why is True Detective better than other detectives? What makes it different? In their marketing, they announced that they were more in-dept and more in detail regarding real detective work. Atleast, that is how I was told about True Detective.

Maybe because it's a decent show? CSI isn't based in reality either. And cops do occasional contaminate crime scenes. Besides, these cops seem to be a bit reckless any way.

Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin
by

my biggest problem is that there's too much talking about the blockchain.
Too many factions: looks like politics.

I supposed that this technology was able to avoid these kind of discussions: I was wrong.

Satoshi should come back to put some order around.

I think satoshi coming back would only complicate things more. What if people didn't like what he had to say? I'm afraid politics and also financial interest always gets involved with any good tech or idea but bitcoin can hopefully rise above all the bullshit and bickering.

Re: Bitcoin: It's the next natural step

It's easy to say this now but only time will tell whether it will happen. You could substitute bitcoin for other digital wallets like Applepay or whatever that still use fiat money. Sadly I just can't see the general public having much of a use for bitcoin compared to the other things like email etc.

Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules
by

on 20/07/2015, 21:44:23 UTC
I saw the rather natural rule: "- No other signatures are allowed at the same time".

Is this signatures as we normally understands the term, or does it include an account's avatar and associated text?

As I did not get an answer from any official, I bump my question: Can I join this campaign and still have my avatar?

If not, why not consider creating an avatar campaign so you have both the sig and the avatar?

There is nothing in the op about you not being able to have an avatar and many people have avatars on this campaign with no problems.

My biggest problem with Bitcoin is, I don't know where the easiest and the safest place to keep it.
I want to use the Bitcoin core, but my PC couldn't handle it. So I use an online wallet, but I don't know if it's safe enough. Sad

Keep it offline. Why do you need it on your computer? Plenty of liteweight wallets as well.

Re: should i move my ''saving'' to Bitcoin?
by
Evil Steve
on 22/06/2015, 09:47:00 UTC
due to the volatility i would only do like 10% or so. with a much more stable price maybe 25% but that's it. 25% at most is more than enough for each kind of investment. rest stays on savings account.

But that volatility is where you can make big profit. The price of bitcoin went up to $1000+ dollars ion late 2013 and there's no reason why it couldn't go there or possibly even higher again. I'd put more than 10% of my savings into it but that's just me.

He did not file a dispute within 7 days and I did respond within 24 hours.

Is this good enough?

No, probably not. Paypal rarely investigate and normally side with the buyer. Think it's even automatic in some cases. I'd either avoid using Paypal or just take the hit when this happens as it will happen.

What do you mean which is more 'reliable'? I use coinmarketcap personally. The other one doesn't seem to tell you the fiat worth of each coin unless I'm missing something? Can only see the btc value of the alts.

Why can't you just create them yourself? How many do you want or are willing to accept for $2.95? If it's not many I'll consider it.

So, how many of you all got a pizza on bitcoin-pizza-day? What was the current rate for a pizza? Would be interesting to see the fold change in those few years!

As much as I'd like to get involved with bitcoin pizza day and hope it catches on as a genuine bitcoin holiday celebration, I don't want to end up spending bitcoins that may considerably rise in value like what happened with the original guy  Cheesy.

Yes, we will escrow all the three prizes if the forum wants us to. Please choose a trusted user and I will talk with him and escrow the funds.

Make sure to ask for a signed address from the escrow due top the recent hackings. It's possible some accounts may have been compromised.

Re: The coin who is supposed to take on Bitcoin.....

So, I just read this article about Hayek, which is supposed to be a coin backed by gold and it will take on Bitcoin.

Quote
The coin will "be valued at 1 gram of gold at the day's market price, [and] will serve as a more secure store of value than Bitcoin," according to the press release. It will be called the Hayek, "after the Nobel-winning Austrian economist Friedrich Hayek."

Yaw. This isn't the first cryptocurrency that was attempted to be backed by gold or some other precious metal so seen it all before. It wont take on bitcoin at all.

Re: Gambling experience - max negative times in row
by
Evil Steve
on 11/05/2015, 18:34:05 UTC
I just testing martingale gambling method.

This is my experience:
After 2 days of gambling I collected 1500 Dogecoins
After 3 days of gambling I lost about 2000 Dogecoins

So I lost because, I have 20x negative times in row.
I expected about 18x or 19x.

Anyway, can anybody tell me what is max negative times in row?
Anybody have same expirience?

What bank roll did you start with? 1500 or something less? Martingale is dangerous because it can easily suck you in. Once you start you'll feel like you can't lose because you always cover you last bets... that is until you hit that losing streak and you lose your bankroll in seconds.

I watched the season of Daredevil on Netflix. Id say its a solid 7/10. Im not into comic book stuff so that was a minus for me, but the acting and storyline is pretty good

I watched the first episode and didn't think it was up to much at all. The Flash was worse and very cheesy too. Not a big fan of most comic book films or tv but I like them when they're done right like The Dark Knight.

That channel has done a few of these videos and some are pretty old. Results aren't surprising. There's one where the tables are turned and it's a man asking women and he gets zero offers but a few slaps haha.

Re: [2015-04-10] Why Billionaire Investor Reid Hoffman Is Betting Big on Bitcoin
by
Evil Steve
on 11/04/2015, 10:40:46 UTC
I think it's always news when investors of his ilk get involved in bitcoin as I think it well help bitcoin gain legitimacy with the general public.

Why Billionaire Investor Reid Hoffman Is Betting Big on Bitcoin

Reid Hoffman has an expert eye for promising tech startups. The LinkedIn chairman and co-founder's early stakes in Facebook, Airbnb and Dropbox prove he's able to see the next big thing before most of us even know what it is -- and it’s paid off for him time and again.

Well I hope his luck continues, but investors always end up getting involved with at least one bad egg or failed concept/idea. I hope for our sake it isn't bitcoin  Grin.

Well they could offer payments in a fixed dollar value. Maybe that would be better for everyone? At least people wont be worried about losing money then. Is there any negative effects to doing it this way?

it is very long, the better he bought the account, at a price between 0.05 - 0.1 and in 1 or 2 weeks of money he could return  Smiley
buying account is also an option, if you have some spare coins already. Apparently it is not prohibited in this forum to do so, which I don't like personally, but so it is.
There are quite some offers of selling accounts of established members with high enough rank to return your investment on the advertisement campaign pretty fast.
But once again, I don't think it is the best way, as you need time to learn about Bitcoin ecosystem and gaining your own experience requires time.

I think most newbs like me don't have a lot if any bitcoins so buying an account with them is usually out of the question, though I suppose you could see it as an investment but still most join this forum to make btc not spend it  Cheesy.
