Hows it going, fellow Filmgrid enthusiasts?
We at Filmgrid decided to take a long hard look at our website and decided it was time for a makeover. We felt all the necessary information was there and that it visually represented the ideology set forth in the Filmgrid Manifesto, but it was also a little too saturated.
So, our team went out there and had it re-designed to where the resulting interphase is friendlier, smooth around the edges and yet comprehensive enough to fit all the information in a more compacted way.
The new site makes use of additional features we as public have grown more used to, such as links, buttons and carrousels to display all relevant information without using up as much space.

Greeting folks,
Its been a while I know, let me start by telling you that despite our silence, we at Filmgrid have remained busy. All living organisms must adapt to their environment in order to survive and Filmgrid is no exception. Legislation in our country of origin, Mexico, has limited the amount crowdfunded and Fintech companies can raise for financing their operations. The limitation would not allow us to reach the goals we need to achieve; therefore, our current efforts are geared toward registration in Europe, Estonia here we come.
Toward this end we have met with KRM advisors to help ups with legal registration as well as obtaining the necessary license as crypto exchange/wallet.
In aims to secure our pre-seed financing, we enrolled our project in Angel Investment Network.
This week we also had advancements in social media. Our youtube channel received a makeover as far as cover picture, you can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7S3acFssgkISo4q_9lE-5A. The Podcast logo is ready, check our channel for the first episode which is coming out soon.
We also explained to our public the concept of the Fan reaction that will be a feature of the social side of our platform.

The Fans
It acts as followers for the Creative Users. Besides giving an applausse to a movie, any user can became a "fan" of creators whos work has impress them; by doing this they will be following the activity of such Creative User inside the platform. Creative Users that collect great amount of Fans will gain status and the projects in which they participate, wil count with an initial popularity that could help to make the movie happen.

Dado el hecho de que extendemos las fechas de preventa, como expliqué en la entrada del registro anterior, también se tuvieron que hacer varios cambios. Después de revisar la Campaña de Recompensas, fue obvio que la necesidad de extender las fechas se aplica de la misma manera, por lo tanto, hemos cambiado la fecha de finalización hasta el 31 de este mes, dando cuatro semanas adicionales.

THE PITCHBOARD

Al registrar el proyecto, se debe elegir un tipo dado de financiamiento para el período de financiamiento; el período de financiación varía según el tipo de financiación elegido. Los proyectos pueden buscar fondos en tantos períodos de financiamiento como deseen (o necesiten), siempre que el mismo proyecto no haya sido financiado en su totalidad previamente en la plataforma.

20190701 | BOUNTY CAMPAIGN UPDATE
Giving the fact we extended the presale dates, as I explained in the previous log entry, several changes had to be made as well. After reviewing the Bounty Campaign, it was obvious the need to extend dates applies in the same manner, therefore we have change the end date til 31st this month, giving four extra weeks.
At the moment all the team is hand-on updating the participants progress spreadsheet, we will meke sure is done by saturday, so when the extention begins, al the rewards for the original period are clear and participants have the chance to share with us any issue or doubt they may have.
The bounties remain the same, so are the rewards. For next mont, a different campaign will be designed after we analyse the results of the present one.
THE PITCHBOARD
If a group of filmmakers is working on a project, whether its in the script stage, or further along, the Filmgrid platform can be used to obtain funding for the project. Pitchboard financing comes without additional commercial commitments than to register and upload the resulting movie for sale in Filmgrid without expiration. Additionally, if the Creative Team sees fit, the film can be played at festivals or private screenings without any restrictions on Filmgrids behalf.
There are three types of project financing: Production Fund, Presale and Production Pool.
When registering the project, a given type of financing must be chosen for the funding period; the funding period varies depending on the chosen type of financing. Projects may seek financing in as many funding periods as they want, as long as the same project has not been previously financed on the platform. Financing types may be different in subsequent periods.

20190630 | PREVENTA PUBLICA DE TOKENS
Dado que nuestro proyecto tiene un presupuesto de marketing de cero, nos hemos basado en una Campaña de Recompensas y en la presencia en nuestras Redes Sociales para que el proyecto sea conocido, desafortunadamente no hemos logrado difundir tanto como nos hubiera gustado. Por lo tanto, sentimos que se debe hacer un cambio ahora que vamos a participar en la preventa pública de fichas, pero no podemos hacer cambios drásticos ya que eso afectaría a aquellos que ya han confiado en nosotros, ya sea contribuyendo o participando en la recompensa. Campaña a cambio de fichas.
Había tres opciones:
- Mantener las fechas de preventa planificadas.
- Extender las fechas de preventa.
- Posponer la preventa.
Cada uno de ellos tuvo sus propias consecuencias, optamos por el número dos, que se extiende desde el 1 al 31 de julio hasta el 1 al 31 de agosto.
Al extender la fecha, podemos tener más tiempo para reforzar el enfoque del proyecto a la gente, agregando un conjunto de actividades completamente diferente que analizaré en las entradas de registro adicionales.
Lo primero que debía hacer era hacer un nuevo Contrato Inteligente, con la información de las nuevas fechas; esto no invalidará la transacción que ya ha ocurrido en el contrato anterior, ya que el contrato de token sigue siendo el mismo, y los tokens comprados ya se han entregado. Al contrario de los modos anteriores, el usuario no obtiene las claves de reproducción que les permiten ver las películas a perpetuidad, sino a cambio de un "boleto", obtienen el derecho de reproducir y ver la película durante 48 horas desde el momento del pago.
Durante este período, el usuario podrá reproducir la película con la frecuencia que desee en cualquier dispositivo compatible. El precio del "boleto" se establecerá de manera similar a la venta Screening, usando un precio fijo del boleto por minuto de película.

Acabo de darme cuenta de que no tenemos un One Pager. Tenemos un Manifiesto, un Plan de Negocios, una presentación Pitch Deck, un Libro Blanco y un Sitio Web informativo; pero no un One Pager. Me siento un poco estúpido al respecto.
Así que ahora es el momento de escribir uno. Esta fue una tarea muy difícil, ya que, aunque el objetivo principal de este proyecto es simplificar la industria cinematográfica, es difícil de explicar cómo podría funcionar y cómo afectaría para bien a los creativos y espectadores, pero aún más difícil de explicar, el papel que juega la tecnología Blockchain dentro de la plataforma. Hemos llegado a la siguiente etapa de nuestro plan de mercadotecnia de presupuesto cero, debemos comenzar a contactar a los cineastas, tanto de independientes como, en un intento arriesgado, celebridades; por lo tanto, el mercado objetivo para este documento es el cineasta, quien, con toda probabilidad, sabe poco o nada sobre blockchain y criptomonedas, incluso, es posible que considere a primera vista que todo lo relacionado con criptos es una estafa. Es importante entonces, tener un documento fácil de leer que explique no solo los beneficios del proyecto, sino que ayude a eliminar toda incertidumbre al respecto, ya que también es un proyecto "cripto.
SCREENING SALE
Este tipo de oferta ocurre entre tres y seis meses después de la venta Premiere, el tiempo exacta es definido por el equipo creativo al registrarse, la plataforma colocará automáticamente la película en el "Billboard" una vez que haya transcurrido el tiempo especificado, quedando disponible para la venta nuevamente. Una vez que la compra / venta de la película haya tenido lugar, la plataforma realizará automáticamente las transacciones correspondientes, depositando las ganancias restantes en la cartera del Equipo Creativo.

Recientemente logramos obtener el estatus de Jr. Member en este foro, por lo que se ha abierto la posibilidad de integrar imágenes a nuestras publicaciones y comentarios. Es muy probable que esta sea la actividad de un par de días, entre el diseño y desarrollo de las imágenes. En lo personal me gustan los diseños que se pueden lograr con BBcode, los encuentro realmente interesantes y más adhoc a un formato de blog como este, más las imágenes pueden cubrir de mejor manera las necesidades visuales requeridas para captar la atención del lector, o también por ejemplo, para explicar datos, donde una gráfica hace el trabajo.
PREMIERE SALE
Cualquier película que esté registrada en el "Billboard" tendrá la oportunidad de hacer una presentación Premiere, una oferta por tiempo limitado durante la cual la película se pondrá a la venta, buscando saciar la sed de novedad del espectador, invitándolos a ver la película antes que otros. Se recomienda a los Equipos Creativos que incluyan material extra o exclusivo, para de este modo agregar más valor a la Venta Premiere; potencialmente convirtiéndose con el tiempo en un tipo de coleccionable.
Estas ventas se realizarán exclusivamente con el token de Filmgrid, Filmpass (FILM). Una vez que se haya realizado la compra / venta de la película, la plataforma realizará automáticamente las transacciones correspondientes, depositando las ganancias restantes en la cartera del Equipo Creativo en forma de token FILM; La tarifa de Filmgrid se convierte a ETH y se deposita en el Fondo de Producción de Filmgrid.

Given the fact our project is a zero marketing budget, we have relied in a Bounty Campaign and presence in our Social Networks to let the project to be known, unfortunately we haven't manage to spread the word as much as we would have liked. Therefore, we feel a change has to be made now that we are going to engage in the Public Token Presale, but cannot make drastic changes since that would affect those who have already put their trust in us, either by contributing or participating in the bounty campaign in exchange for tokens.
There was three options:
1. Keep the planned presale dates.
2. Extend the presale dates.
3. Postpone the presale.
Each of them came with their own consequences, we opted for number two, extending from July 1st - 31st, to July 1st - Aug 31st.
By extending the date, we can have more time to reinforce the project approach to the people, adding a whole other set of activities that I will discuss in further log entries.
The first thing to do was to make a new Smart Contract, with the new dates information; this won't invalidate the transaction that have already happened in the previous contract, since the token contract remains to be the same, and purchased tokens have already been delivered. Also the new amount to be distributed was minted and added to the wallet that hold the funds.
HOME TICKET
It works as a movie rental for titles available in the Screening Sale in The Billboard. Contrary to the previous modes, the user does not obtain playback keys that allow them to see the films in perpetuity, but rather, in exchange for a ticket, they obtain the right to play and watch of the film for 48 hours from the moment of payment.
During this period, the user will be able to play the movie as often as they like in any compatible device. The ticket price will be set in a similar way to the Screening Sale, using a fixed ticket price per minute of movie.
If crowdfunding does not reach the hard top, how to deal with the remaining tokens? Is it destroyed or distributed to investors? ?
Unsold tokens from each sale, automatically pass to the next sale. In the event that after the Token Sale Round 2 (or Phase II) is over, there are still remaining tokens, these will be burned, in order to not affect the value of already distributed tokens.

I have just realized we do not have a One Pager. We have a Manifesto, a Business Plan, a Pitch Deck presentation, A White Paper and an informative Web Site; but no One Pager. I feel a bit stupid about it.
So it was now the time to write one. This was very difficult task, since, even though the whole point of this project is simplify the movie industry, it is a hard task to explain how this could work and how will affect for good the creative and spectators parties, yet more difficult to explain the role of Blockchain technology in it. I locked myself in a room with nothing but a bunch of coffee, my laptop and all my paper notes and printed material; that room is a mess right no, and I am not planning to clean it anytime soon.
Why is important the One Pager other than the obvious? We have reached the next stage of our zero-budget marketing plan, we are to start contacting filmmakers, both, independent and, in a long-shot-attempt, celebrities; hence, the targeted market for this document is the filmmaker, who in all probability, knows little to nothing about blockchain and cryptocurrencies, being possible that actually, will consider at first glance everything related to cryptos to be a scam. It is important then, to have an easy to read document that explain not only the benefits of the project, but that helps to remove all uncertainty in regards the fact is also a crypto project.
SCREENING SALE
This type of offering happens between three to six months after the Premiere, the exact time is defined by the Creative Team upon registration, the platform will automatically place the film on the "Billboard" once the specified time has elapsed, becoming available for sale again. Ether (ETH) and bitcoin (BTC) are accepted during this sale (other cryptocurrencies to be determined).
What makes this mode special is the pricing of the film, it works in a very different way than what is commonly used in visual entertainment. Filmgrid accepts any film-time format: short, medium or feature-length; which makes it difficult to standardize prices because it would not be ideal for a 15 minute film to cost the same as a 90 minute one.
That's why it was decided to determine the price based on the duration of the film, keeping a flat rate per minute. Once the purchase/sale of the film has taken place, the platform will automatically make the corresponding transactions, depositing the remaining profit to the Creative Teams wallet.
There are only three transfers to the contract address. Are you not optimistic about this project?
Very optimistic, always. Filmgrid is not just an ICO or blockchain project, and even though a successful token sale would help it to start in better terms, it won't define it. This is a collision of ideals, dreams and business... we will see it through no mater what and no mater what it takes.
Those three transactions are the first contributions we received, which means we already have an obligation to someone that believes in the project and is our responsibility not letting any contributor down.

Me reuní con Mayank Taneja, Vicepresidente de Resoluciones para Somish Blockchain Labs, una empresa de desarrollo de tecnología y productos, con experiencia práctica en la creación de MVPs de Blockchain privados, autorizados y públicos.
Fue el primer encuentro en la búsqueda de cooperación para el desarrollo del MVP de Filmgrid. Como era de esperar, presentamos nuestras empresas el uno al otro, así como los objetivos inmediatos que tenemos. Hasta ahora he encontrado en Somish la solución de desarrollo que estamos buscando, tienen una sólida formación y entienden las necesidades de sus clientes. Encontré particularmente interesante que Mayank estaba muy interesado en saber qué tan profundo hemos hecho (en Filmgrid) nuestra tarea, particularmente en qué medida fue nuestra investigación de mercadeo; más tarde, aprendí que buscan trabajar solo con proyectos factibles ... bueno, de hecho, hicimos una buena investigación.

THE BILLBOARD
Es el mercado de películas, será el área donde los Usuarios Creativos pueden poner sus películas, series o documentales en venta y alquiler, y los Usuarios Espectador pueden adquirirlos y disfrutarlos.
Un sistema de filtro inteligente permitirá a los usuarios navegar y ordenar el contenido fácilmente, con un diseño intuitivo y fácil de usar; cada película tendrá su propio espacio designado dentro de la plataforma. Se puede utilizar una imagen o gif para identificar el proyecto con la información general: título, sinopsis, precio, duración, género y equipo creativo correspondiente.
Las películas serán comercializadas bajo tres esquemas diferentes:
▶ Premiere. Venta exclusiva inicial con material adicional.
▶ Screening. Venta subsecuente a la Premiere.
▶ Home Cinema. Renta por un periodo de 48 horas.
En los modos Premiere y Screening, el usuario que compra la película adquiere las claves de reproducción, por lo que puede hacerlo en cualquiera de sus dispositivos compatibles, tantas veces como lo desee.
Las claves de reproducción pudieran ser transferidas de un usuario a otro si se tiene conexión dentro de la plataforma. Esto puede ser en caso de regalo, herencia, intercambio por otra película o venta. Una vez que estas claves se han transferido, el propietario original ya no puede usarlas.

El propósito de este "thread", es crear la crónica de nuestros esfuerzos en la aventura de ejecutar un ICO para nuestro proyecto, Filmgrid. La meta principal es ganar la confianza de esta comunidad. En tiempos en que los estafadores son cosa del día a día, en ambos lados de los ICO y del mundo de las criptomonedas, creo que solo la transparencia y la comunicación pueden generar dicha confianza. Esto también podría ser útil en el futuro para aquellos que decidan utilizar una Oferta de Moneda Inicial para financiar sus proyectos, aprendiendo de los errores y aciertos que lleguemos a tener.
Las entregas diarias se estructurarán de la siguiente manera:

¿Cómo empezar este diario? porque empezamos esta aventura hace algún tiempo. Tal vez solo pueda decir que al día de hoy, ha sido un viaje interesante, con mucho por venir. El proyecto comenzó hace un par de años, no como una idea de blockchain, sino con un plan de negocios para cambiar la industria del cine. ¿Por qué? Porque está tan corrompido, que alguien tiene que hacerlo. Estábamos listos para lanzar Filmgrid como una empresa "cripto" el año pasado, durante el mercado bajista; debido a la tendencia negativa, decidimos esperar.
Fue hasta este año, después de sufrir una pérdida de miembros del equipo y un adelgazamiento de nuestro presupuesto, que no pudimos esperar más; Filmgrid tiene que suceder pronto. Así fue en marzo de este año que comenzamos con una nueva estrategia, adaptando el proyecto al nuevo panorama; contratamos a un consultor de ICO de primer nivel y redistribuimos las obligaciones entre el equipo existente. Se redactó un contrato inteligente para una venta privada y le comunicamos la noticia a cuanto inversor pudimos. Además, comenzamos nuestro plan de marketing digital, utilizando las redes sociales de Filmgrid para comunicar el proyecto en entregas casi diarias, seleccionando temas específicos que se explicán en cada publicación. Una primera versión de este diario se realizó en Steem y Medium, sin embargo, no estaba llegando a la comunidad correcta, fue justo después de lanzar el Anuncio y la Campaña de Recompenzas en BitcoinTalk que entendimos que el diario pertenece primero aquí.
20190622 | ENTREVISTA CON POTENCIALES INVERSORES
Después de este breve resumen, me gustaría contarles sobre el fin de semana, fue muy interesante. Comenzó el sábado 21 a las 4:00 a.m. ya que tuve que viajar a Milano, Italia, para conocer a posibles inversores; estoy explorando todas las oportunidades que se presentan. A este punto, hemos tenido conversaciones vía telefónica y por correo electrónico, pero se requería una reunión en persona. Así que tomé el vuelo 7:35 Londres-Milano. Nunca he estado en Italia y definitivamente no hablo italiano, por lo que no entiendo por que al momento en que presenté mi pasaporte tuve que decir en voz alta 'Bonjorno' (sonaba como Peter Griffin con bigote, para el que entienda la referencia), el de aduanas me empezó a hablar en italiano y no tengo ni idea de lo que dijo, fue vergonzoso. Mi reunión fue hasta las 3:00 p.m. de la tarde, así que me tomé un tiempo para turistear en la catedral "Il Duomo", un lugar muy impresionante.
La reunión comenzó a las 3:15 p.m. cuando me reuní en un bar muy elegante con los representantes del inversionista, muy bien vestidos debo decir. Dado que las características principales del proyecto se habían discutido anteriormente, hablé más sobre el plan de marketing y la segunda fase de la distribución de fichas y un poco de tokenomics ... no estaban demasiado interesados en escuchar lo último, lo que me pareció extraño. Parece que tenían algo que decir, así que les dí la oportunidad de hacerlo, me aseguran que su cliente ya había tomado la decisión de invertir una gran cantidad (no la revelaré, pero fue considerablemente grande) para comprar tokens FILM y solo era importante discutir el proceso de pago, ya que no había interés en utilizar un contrato inteligente, sino en una venta por contrato tradicional. Y la gran bomba fue lanzada. La transacción debía ser en efectivo.
Después de siete años de trabajar en Fintech (tecnología financiera), sé que no hay una bandera roja más grande que hacer transacciones grandes en efectivo.
Sugerí usar cuentas bancarias, idea que fue rechazada inmediatamente. Ahí ya estoy un poco enojado, podrían haberme ahorrado el viaje (dinero y tiempo perdido) diciendo esto en alguna de las dos ocasiones que se discutió al teléfono que solo tomamos Ether como medio de pago y mediante un smart contract, pero también tenía curiosidad por averiguar si esto era un intento de estafa, una operación de lavando de dinero o una transacción legítima de la vieja escuela; así que mantuve el control y, aunque no tomaríamos la oferta del efectivo, le hice tantas preguntas que se me ocurrió.
La reunión terminó y decidí apresurarme hacia el aeropuerto, cosa que resultó muy difícil, el transporte público en Milán, aunque es genial, es complicado cuando no se sabe cómo funciona. Uno no puede pagar en el autobús, en cambio, se debe encontrar una tienda participante para comprar el boleto de abordaje. Me tomó alrededor de 40 minutos entender a los cansados conductores de autobuses lo que debía hacer; al fin logré abordar un ruta 73 con destino a Linate. Llegué al aeropuerto sin inconvenientes y abordé mi vuelo. El domingo fue para revisar y evaluar con el equipo lo que acaba de suceder.

We recently obtained the Jr. Member status in this forum, so the possibility of integrating images to our publications and comments has been opened. I do not want to use the same images already used in both, the website and our social networks, so we take care to generate specific images for the Filmgrid threads in BitcoinTalk.

It is very likely that this is the activity of a couple of days, between the design and development of the images. Personally I like the designs that can be achieved with BBcode, I find them really interesting and more adhoc to a blog format like this, but the images can better cover the visual needs required to capture the attention of the reader, or for example, to explain data, where a graph does the work.
Hopefully by saturday we have the threads updated with the ne imagery.
PREMIERE SALE
Any film that is registered in the "Billboard" will have the opportunity to make a Premiere presentation, a limited time offering during which the film is put on sale, looking to quench the spectators thirst for novelty, inviting them to see the film before others. Creative Teams are encouraged to include bonus or exclusive material in this mode to add more value to the Premiere Sale; potentially becoming with time in a type of collectible.
These sales will take place exclusively with Filmgrids token, Filmpass (FILM). Once the purchase/sale of the movie has taken place, the platform will automatically make the corresponding transactions, depositing the remaining profit to the Creative Teams wallet In the form of FILM; Filmgrids fee is converted to ETH and deposited to the Filmgrids Production fund.

20190624 | THE SEARCH FOR MVP DEVELOPERS - SOMISH
I met with Mayank Taneja, VP Solution Delivery for Somish Blockchain Labs, a technology and product development company with hands-on experience in building private, permissioned and public Blockchain MVPs.
It was the first approach seeking cooperation for the development of Filmgrids MVP. As it was to be expected, we presented our companies to each other as well as the immediate goals that we have. I find so far in Somish the development solution we are looking for, they have a strong background and understand the needs of their customers. I found particularly interesting that Mayank was very keen in learning how deep we (Filmgrid) have done our homework, particularly in how extend was our marketing research; later I learned they look to work only with feasible projects... good thing we did indeed a good research.
Originally, we had planned to build a development team from scratch in Mexico, however, after interviewing a few candidates, we realize that blockchain development is still now very common among developers; there were really good contendents, good programmers, but unfortunately none with solid blockchain knowledge nor experience.
After our meeting, I feel confident Somish are the best company capable to deliver the MVP we are looking for. Time will determinate if in the future we retake the original plan for the development of the platform and own blockchain, or if we continue with third party services.
THE BILLBOARD
This is the movie marketplace, it will be the area where Creative Users can put their films, series or documentaries for sale and rent, and Viewer Users can buy/rent and enjoy them.
An smart filter system will allow users to browse and order content easily, with an intuitive and easy-to-use design; each film will have its own designated space within the platform. Participants may use an image or gif to identify the project with the general project information: title, synopsis, price, duration, gender and corresponding Creative Team.
The films will be commercialized under three different schemes:
▶ Premiere. Exclusive initial sale with additional material.
▶ Screening. Subsequent sale to the Premiere.
▶ Home Cinema. Rental for a period of 48 hours.
In the Premiere and Screening modes, the user who buys the movie acquires the reproduction keys, so he can stream it in any compatible device, as many times as wanted.
The reproduction keys could be transferred from one user to another if there is connection within the platform. This can be in case of gift, inheritance, exchange for another movie or sale. Once these keys have been transferred, the original owner can no longer use them.

The purpose of this thread, is to create a chronicle of our efforts in the adventure of running an ICO for our project, Filmgrid. The main idea is to earn trust in this community. In times were scammers are the everyday thing, in all sides of the ICO and cryptocurrency, I Believe only transparency and communication can build such trust. This could also be helpful in the future for those who decide to fund their projects using an Initial Coin Offer, learning from the blunders and inerrancies we get to have.
Being aware that in an open thread, messages may arise, at the end of the diary deliver, we will include a small section to give answer to comments or question we may receive.
How to start this diaries? for we started this adventure some time ago. Maybe I can only say that as of now, it has been an interesting ride, with so much still to come. The project began a few years ago, not as a blockchain idea, but has a business plan to disrupt the movie business industry. Why? Because it is so corrupted, somebody has to do it. Working on developing an innovative business model, we cross with blockchain technology, that covered all the needs that traditional technology was not, and make such model a possible reality.
We were ready to launch Filmgrid as a crypto-company last year, during the bear market; due to the negative tendency, we decided to wait.
It was until this year, after suffering some lost of team members and a thinning in our budget, that we could not wait anymore; Filmgrid has to happen soon. So it was in march when we began with a new strategy, adapting the project to the new panorama; we hired a top ICO consultant and redistribute obligations among the existing team. A smart contract was written for a Private Sale and we communicate the news to as many investors we could. Also, we began our digital marketing plan, using Filmgrid's social networks to communicate the project in almost daily delivers, picking specific subjects to be explained one at the time. A first version of this diaries was attempt using Steem and Medium, however, it was not reaching the right community, it was right after we launch the Announcement and the Bounty Campaign in BitcoinTalk that it was understood that the diaries belong here first.
20190622 | PRIVATE INVESTORS
After this brief recap, I will like to tell you about the weekend, it was very interesting. It started Saturday at 4:00 A.M. since I had to travel to Milano, Italia to meet potential investors; I am exploring all opportunities. At this point we have had phone and email conversations, yet a person to person meeting was required. So I took the 7:35 London-Milano flight. Never been in Italy and definitely don't speak Italian, reason why I don't understand that at the moment I presented my passport I had to say very loud 'Bonjorno' (I sounded like Peter Griffin trying to speak the language), the customs guy started speaking Italian to me and I have no clue what he said, it was embarrassing. My meeting was until 3:00 P.M., so I took the time to tourist a little in "Il Duomo" cathedral, very impressive place.
The meeting begun at 3:15 P.M. when I met in a very fancy bar with the very well dressed investor representatives, since the project core features had been discussed before, I talk more about the marketing plan and the second phase of the token distribution and a little bit of tokenomics... they where not too interested into listening to the last, which I found odd. It seem they had something to say, so I give them the chance to do so, they assure me their client had already make the decision to invest a big amount (I won't disclose it, but it was considerably big) to buy FILM tokens and it was only matter to discuss the paying process, since there was not interest into using a smart contract, but instead with a traditional contract sale. And the big bomb was dropped. The transaction must be in cash.
After seven years working in Fintech I know there is no bigger red flag than cash.
I suggested using bank accounts, which was refused. At this point I am already a bit angry, they could have spare me the trip (money and time wasted) on the phone the two times a specify we only take Ether, but I was also curious to figure out if this was a scam attempt, a money laundry operation or a legit old school transaction; so I kept my grip and even though we were not to take cash, I asked as many questions I could think of.
the meeting was over and decided to hurry to the airport, which was very difficult, public transportation in Milano, even though is great is complicated when you don't know how it works. One cannot pay on the bus, instead, a participant store must be found to buy the ticket. It took me around 40 minutes to understand the tired bus drivers what was to be done. I got to the airport without inconvenient and board my flight. Sunday will be to review and evaluate with the team what just happened.
So, to close this first delivery of the diaries I want to ask you, what opinions do you have in regards the investing offer? what liabilities do you see? and most important, what warnings do you detect?
i don't like making threads in alternate cryptocurrencies, especially if i want my thread to be useful or interesting to read for others. the main reason is that that board is mainly used for spamming by some members.
