Hey..... I like that part you brought the naija factor oo. Network network and bad network. This bad network stuff in the country is another thing especially if you are off network areas like major cities, you really go crazy sometimes thinking something had gone wrong with your wallet if you are waiting for an update.

Op thanks for clearing the air though. At the time I saw the thread and wanted to say something, it was already locked. However, my response would have also touched on the low transaction fee because miners are in business too and they would be interested to pick transaction sent to be processed with higher and enticing fee especially where there is congestion/traffic (demand for process).

You have some good points and guide to trading. All the points that you have raised fall on one major point and that is discipline. And one that I will point at is to set realistic goal.

So it is just like saying Patience + Emotional Control + Confidence Vs overconfidence + Risk Tolerance and Management + Focus and Mental Clarity = Discipline.

Okay to single out confidence vs overconfidence, you see that is when you are discipline to wait for the right time to enter a trade order that you can be confident about your decision that you have followed your strategy and even if you want to be over confidence then you use stop loss to guide incase your strategy fails because no strategy is perfect as far as trading is concern. But the point is about discipline and it matters alot in trading. A trader that is not discipline will keep making minor mistakes that will keep burning down their account.

Lack of discipline makes a trader to follow every trade without minding if the market is ready. Lack of discipline will make a trader to be assuming instead of following price action. I believe discipline is the A - Z of trading no matter the strategy that you have, you must be discipline with it for it to yield profit for you.

Re: Reason I prefer saving my money in exchange to Bank
by
GPVibes
on 19/07/2025, 13:42:23 UTC
Bank normally is supposed to help people whenever they are in need of cash but nowadays reverse is the case, I don't know if I will say it is because of the government and currently bank charges is becoming something else, whether you do transaction or not they will charge you. Below is the reason I prefer saving in exchange to Bank

I think maybe we are expecting too much from our banks and leaving out the government who are the drivers of banks through their policies. The high and incessant fees we get from banks to our phones in the guise of maintenance of account and ATM transaction charges is not independent of what is happening with the current administration of generating revenue through taxation. It is the government "renewed hope" that is causing hopelessness in the faces of Nigeria and that is the reality on ground.

As to whether government is suppose to "help people whenever they are in need of cash" how do you mean brother? I hope you don't mean giving people money freely, no. If you mean making money available, fine but you also know the government/bank policy of decongesting the bank and bank premises. I think that is the reason that licenses have been given to Fintechs to operate and ease financial services challenges from the commercial banks. Also, the Point of Sale (POS) people too are there and helping to distribute money. I don't know when I have gone to bank so far for ATM transaction or to deposit/withdraw money from bank desk, this is because you are either using app or POS. It is just the charges that are beginning to be higher and reason being that government too is interested to scoop our small money through multiple taxation.

If we feel that banks were helping in the past, I don't think so. If you are ready with bank terms like collateral and interest rates, you will still do business with them just like it felt as if they were helping before because it was easier with collateral and interest rate.

What I see and the reality is that it is becoming hard to survive in the economy now unlike before so every charge is now obvious and annoying. Electricity tariffs too is there, it is not only bank that is chopping our money.

Important note however, don't leave your money or crypto in CEX. Not your keys not your money. It is better kept in Trust Wallet ( Non Custodial Wallet) and if you want to exchange using CEX then you do that by sending it there, convert and sell, money to your bank account.

Re: Looking for Friends
by
GPVibes

Nowadays, I’ve started to lose friends over these arguments, and I'm not good online Instagram or Discord either.

Contrary to what the believe on your story, Sorry I won't believe all you said about losing your friends because you were not able to convince them about Bitcoin.

First is that, you don't need to convince anybody about Bitcoin because Bitcoin is a decentralized coin and doesn't need such advocacy. In fact only one single individual effort may not show any signicance in the growth of Bitcoin except you are a whale who is popular, then you can drive the market temporary though because the price will always move at the direction of halving current.

Another factor is that you have to be an ambassador of what you are preaching for people to believe what you say. If Bitcoin is a good investment then it has to show beginning from you because people have tendency of doubt on what they are not seeing evidently. For example as a gambler who is claiming to know how to analyze, predict and win then people around you should be able to see significantly the positive effect on you financially like your attire and general body look and achievement.

So if you are looking good and representing very well, your friends won't desert you because you try to convince them on bitcoin.

Re: What is the best way to gamble?
by
GPVibes
on 17/07/2025, 09:57:39 UTC
It is a pity for gamblers who initially try to stick to a strategy that involves reasonable capital management, but cannot stick to it for a long time. They usually lose the deposit after some time (most of them) and then such gamblers have a choice: either take out borrowed funds and try to win back their initial capital. Or admit the loss of money.
In any case, if someone wants to play for money, he must accept in advance that this money may no longer be there in a few minutes.
It is better to admit a loss than to borrow money and then try to win it back. Believe me, this will be a double blow to a person's financial condition. You should never do this. You can lose money that will not have any effect on your well-being. This is the simplest and most useful rule that you should always follow.

At the time, I did not want to understand this and I regretted it very much after some time. I have never had such a hard time in my life. This is what it means to violate unspoken conditions.

If you don't want to lose so much that you will lose control of your strategy then you have to reduce your staking and manage your capital. If you gamble with an amount that is very infinite to your bankroll, it won't dis-stabilize you in your plans because you will still have more to gamble with but in a situation that you are chasing only profit and you increase your financial risk, if you lose in such game it will discourage you from taking a better decision on your next game. So a gambler that will always grumble about his huge losses should learn to take small risk so that if you lose it will just be little amount same for when you win.

Re: ETH to $3500? But what about BTC dominance?
by

I think what is leading to such news is the long awaited altcoin season since Bitcoin has gone comfortably in 6 digits. Altcoin hodlers also want to come to the party, I can imagine them checking up on their wallet often times to see if there is such radical price increase.

A propaganda is going on to move the altcoin market because just very few altcoins have had such increase like the top like TRX, Sol, ETH, BNB. But the real push is what is waited for, maybe someone is likely trying to inspire that through manipulating the media and speculative market.

This is a pure case of fraud. If you didn't have that feeling to check your machine you would have been a victim. These frausters keep coming up with different strategy to defraud people and when they are caught they start blaming it on devil. You would have raised alarm so that he will be dealt with a little and he will have bitter story to talk about himself.

So my advise to you is, next time you don't have to be carried away to allow your customer to have hold of the machine for a long time because I know that it is not same time that will be spent in putting just the pin and putting another fresh request on the machine. Be bold to request for your machine if you suspect that the customer is taking longer time with the machine.

Nigerian politicians always put square pegs in round hole
by
GPVibes
on 16/07/2025, 12:56:30 UTC
I still remember that in 2023 presidential election, there were issues hinging on anomalies and corrupt electoral practices that bedeviled the election. Then after the matter was dispensed at the supreme court level in favour of Tinubu, the duo of Peter Obi and Atiku spoke bitterly about the electoral process in Nigeria and the need for it reform.

Some of the numerous issues at the election are listed below.

1. Technical Glitch
2. Falsification of school certificate
3. No real time transmission of polling booth results to irev
4. Electoral misconduct by hoodlums, vote buying, vote suppression
5. Late arrival of voting materials
6. To ensure polling booth result given to polling agents tally with the results announced by INEC
7. Constitutional review of what 25 percentage in 2/3 of the state is and the status of FCT
8. Concluding presidential election petition and matters before swearing in of the president to avoid undue advantage and influence on his ongoing election court matters.

Now, the issue is instead of the politicians to agitate seriously about these lop holes through constitution and particularly electoral process, they are busy struggling for merger, alliance abi coalition in ADC. And after one person emerge then they go to the poll and experience same excuses. The lessons of the past election have not been learnt by these people really.

The Uwais electoral reform is still there unattended to nor adopted. If that reform is adopted, it will bring some changes in the electioneering processes. For example it will strengthen the independence of INEC since the officials like the INEC chairman and commissioners will not be appointed by the president and their salaries too won't come from the executive. It also suggested independent candidacy. It also suggested electoral offenders commission where those who are found violating people's right to vote will be reported to and punished accordingly.

In my view therefore, I see that Nigerian politicians are just being selfish. They want every means to get into power like if you can't beat them you join them. But if all the loopholes are not taking care or reduced to bearest minimum through electoral reform, the next presidential election will still be like that of 2023.

What's your thought my people?

And current old money elite want to get into crypto not because they want to look cool and innovative but because inside crypto they can get Control more over the world specially trough stablecoins.

How is that possible to control cryptocurrency, even with stablecoins it is only possible for stabilizing price volatility within the crypto ecosystem so that you can know the real value of a coin using stablecoins like usdt,DAi, usdc. So if it is pegged with fiat, that doesn't mean control because it doesn't have inbuilt or inherent ability for controlling the market. Exchanges use it to peg the price of crypto likewise everyone involved in crypto space. Mind you, stablecoins are also cryptocurrency and doesn't have mechanism for outright control by any body or government. It is a hedge and can only be as price control within the ecosystem but not control of finance.

The best time to buy just like you directing is when the price has dropped and the best too for selling is at the high. If a trader buys from low price, they are likely to maximize profit. Like if you are doing DCA on bitcoin every month from where the price starts to rise, you will realize that the profit you make from the first month will be greater than the profit from later price. For example, the first month price at $100,000 , second month @$102,000 and third month @ $103,000. If you sell all at $110,000, your profit margin for the first month to third month will be as $10,000, $8,000 and $7,000 respectively.

That they were into products selling and advertisement. I told the person I don't get involve in such, that it is Ponzi and will end in closing up.
We get to clear something here. We get MLM (Multi Level Marketing) and we get Ponzi. Both nor be d same, though people dey mistake wan for d other. Nor be every "bring two people to bring two people", that's referral, be ponzi. If a particular investment project get referral programme and get tangible products wey dem dey market ad people dey use dem, na MLM be date. But if dem nor get tangible products, and na just promise of investment dem dey depend on, run. Na ponzi be dat.

Quote

I understand that in terms of products that are physical or that they have contact address that is physical and traceable to (as MLM), that's those who carry bad all over the streets. And those that you don't see products that they sell (as ponzi). Yes they have same way of recruiting even though MLM is physical recruitment but what is the difference with ponzi where people carry bag for years with promise of achieving some greatness, they carry it for long and at the end they won't get they were promised. Is that not scam? Is that not also ponzi? I understand that some marketing companies selling herbal medicine or supplement exist under that MLM but lots of them are scam too.

Is there anything I am missing that I should know?

When you asked this question, I was thinking you were referring to the forum or the local board but you directed your questions to bitcoin. Well it is all good. Nothing has changed with bitcoin only the price as you saw.

Question:
1. Do you think last ATH would be the highest We would see?
2. Do you also believe that bitcoin would touched $500k as people are already tweeted and share on this forum

I think this is a single question made in two and I believe bitcoin will keep breaking it highest price and $500k is possible with time. At least we have seen the movement within just 24hrs.

3. How do you think manage the market now that prices are soaring and altcoin aren't still making any new move to impressed their holds?

I believe it is time for big hodlers to run out with profit and enter back again from the dip. So the choice is yours. But definitely the price will still go up but to what extent I can't tell for now. The reason it will still go up is that US has so many positive news that will make their citizen to convert dollar to bitcoin with bitcoin as reserve over there.

if possible self make them ask questions if the thing don too dey convincing, make they for know if true stuff or not, like that go also help people to avoid those scammers ways too.

You know most times when you will get to know what those who register with Ponzi are doing is when they will come to you to market you into the scheme. They don't ask before they go into it. It is after they have been there and not seeing what they were told then they can begin to share such information with you and by then it would have been late. I got to know about this new Ponzi because the person was scammed in the previous one and has decided to get lost money back. It is an unfortunate condition of bad economy that cause some people to try their hands in certain things that they would originally not do ( I mean those falling for it).

Meanwhile, government keeps talking about going after the owners of Ponzi scheme but no seriousness in that.

by
GPVibes
on 09/07/2025, 12:34:56 UTC

Can you also share your reason for the strategy you use now, and which other strategies you have used before.

A quick advise is that some traders say they don't use SL but they keep refunding their account, why... because you won't be there to exit if the price is going against your direction and the volatility can continue then take you out by itself. SL is better on trade whether a small risk or high risk is taking.

Don't over trade. If you over trade then you may lose focus if you are losing because you are going to be off balance on your emotions and begin to chase back your loses as if you were gambling.

They say it is a wise person that learns from others mistakes and I believe most of us here are wise and can reach out to those who would listen to advise in our neighborhoods.

You see knowledge is good and it is power, since I understood how to identify scam or Ponzi, I don't think I can fall for it.

I remember around two months ago someone introduced something called a business or investment that I will like to join and that I will register with certain amount depending on the level I want to start with, that after registration I will bring other people to register under me. That they were into products selling and advertisement. I told the person I don't get involve in such, that it is Ponzi and will end up closing up. After much persuasion from the person, I asked the person to give me the link let me show that it is scam but the person frown face (that I like to argue  Grin). Long story short, behold they have exitted after the domain expired Ffnga001155.com. The person informed me of their exit (because I have even forgotten about them) and that they have reopened another site that will last for one year and that they are into firm making using Warner brothers initiative. You have to watch videos and earn through bringing people. But the thing is the person vowed to recover lost money from the present scam site by registering early and getting followers. What does this mean, another people money will waka.

This is the new scam in town, only 16 days old https://wpp0909.com/#/register/1250873
wpp0909

Okay now why I brought this up is that, on Saturday 12/7/25, I remember I was with somebody and in our discussion the person was complaining of difficulty in Nigeria and hardship and considering joining yahoo because they cashing out. He then told me a story of a cousin brother who just renewed his scam domain site with 500k or so and that it will last for a year after which he would cash out and build more upstairs, buy cars and properties. Immediately he that my mind went straight to the exited scam site someone told me about.

I tell people that are around me that those networking are "investment"are yahoo guys behind them.

Don't be part of those that will keep falling for scam.

Top ISO-Compliant Cryptocurrencies in July 2025
by
GPVibes
on 04/07/2025, 12:45:08 UTC
This showed up when I was going through the net and it got me interested to understand it more and I decided to share some knowledge here to you.

If I have to choose another topic for this thread, I could just say: cryptocurrencies that are complaint to traditional banking system. (At least that's the simple meaning I understand it to be).

Here is the gist of the thread

According to google search, ISO 20022 is an open global standard for financial information. It provides consistent, rich and structured data that can be used for every kind of financial business transaction.

So what is ISO 20022?
Quote
ISO 20022 is a standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for the exchange of electronic payment information between banks. Its goal is to unify all existing message formats into a single language called Extensible Markup Language (XML), which makes data processing easier.

List of top ISO 20022 compliant coins in May 2025

Eight crypto coins already meet the ISO 20022 standard: XRP, Stellar Lumens, XDC Network, Algorand, Iota, Hedera Hashgraph, Quant, and Cardano. Two of them—XRP and XLM— are also members of the ISO 20022 standardization body.

Benefits of ISO 20022 compliance for crypto

1. Standardization and interoperability
2. Improved trust and transparency
3. Streamlined cross-border payments
4. Integration with Central Banks: Compliance encourages central banks and financial institutions to use cryptocurrencies. Ripple (XRP), XDC, Stellar Lumens (XLM), Iota, and Algorand are already ISO 20022 compliant, which boosts their potential for adoption as digital reserve currencies or integration into central bank payment systems.

What is ISO 20022 currency?

ISO 20022 currency refers to cryptocurrencies that support or integrate with the financial messaging standard to enable seamless data exchange and interoperability in banking systems. Examples include XRP and XLM.

Does ISO 20022 use XRP?

Yes, XRP is a prominent cryptocurrency aligned with ISO 20022, focusing on cross-border payments and integration with financial institutions.

What banks use ISO 20022?

Major global banks, including HSBC, Deutsche Bank, and JP Morgan, are transitioning to or already using ISO 20022 for enhanced financial messaging and interoperability.

Who needs ISO 20022?

Banks, financial institutions, and payment service providers use ISO 20022 to modernize and standardize financial messaging. It benefits industries requiring seamless and interoperable data exchange.

What countries are in ISO 20022?

ISO 20022 is adopted globally, with countries like the U.S., U.K., members of the European Union, Australia, and Japan actively implementing it in their financial systems.

Does ISO 20022 use blockchain?

ISO 20022 is not a blockchain technology but a messaging standard. Some blockchain projects align with it to improve interoperability and integration with financial systems.

Is Ethereum ISO 20022?

Ethereum is not natively ISO 20022-compliant but could align with the standard through third-party applications or integrations.

Is Bitcoin ISO 20022?

Bitcoin does not directly align with ISO 20022, as it was not designed to comply with financial messaging standards. It remains primarily a store of value and decentralized digital currency.

Quote
This content is provided for informational purposes only and should not be construed as investment advice.

The point is Bitcoin and Ethereum are not aligned to ISO 20022, except for Ethereum through third party application or integration.

So just like other cryptocurrency who are volatile, does this mean bitcoin is never going to be held or issued by banks and what do you think of banks and cryptocurrency compliant?

These people godey reason say e better make dem collect small gains than to lose part of their money and this na cause of say their bitcoin knowledge Dey limited.

The thing is that maybe such person has reached his target area and it coincide with when price is going down, abi is it not better for the person to go out and wait for another move up? I have heard that the big guys in the industry (called whales) exit at a top and rebuy at the dip when the price must have gone down so that they can buy more with same value that they exited with and thereby having more coins. For example, if they exit at $106,000 because they perceive that the price was going to drop and it truly did down to around $80,000. At the $80,000 if they are buying with $106,000 for the initial sale then they would buying more than 1btc but if they decide to go with just 1btc , they would have about $26k as profit. So I think that is also profiting if you leave at the right hour to enter from lower price.
