Re: Dont Buy a second hand phone from people you dont know
by

Whether from people you know or people don't know, for your own safety, you should stronglyfrowm against buying of second hand phone. Asides the chances of the phone being a stolen phone, you could end up incurring losses for yourself.
A friend of mine saw a phone and on Facebook, it was an infinity phone, worth over 200k market price and he saw the phone on Facebook and the poster was selling it for just 150k, and the phone was just 2 months old with complete accessories, according to the seller. I tried talking him out of it but he ignored my advice and went ahead to buy the phone.  Indeed the phone was very new and had rlthe receipt just as the seller posted which made the whole thing even more suspicious.

My friend was enjoying the phone not until after a month he discovered the phone was bought on instalment from EasyBuy. And we all know what that means.

Re: Don't FOMO Gambling this Weekend

on 10/04/2024, 17:09:35 UTC
Last weekend was very massive in the gambling world especially when E-money posted his bet between Chelsea and Arsenal. I know a lot of people followed him to play the game because it was trending on Twitter. I can only imagine how many new converts will join gambling the coming weekend.

My advice na say make we use our head o because gambling no be anybody mate. People wey dey celebrate their winning fit don dey loose dey come since, maybe their own time just come and they pick major. There is no easy wat to wealth so make we gamble responsibly. Thank you once again OP for this post because I know say plenty Naija guys dey game even on low key.

If me wan bet this weekend, I go avoid the games of those wey win last week because them fit use this week pay back some of them money them. I no wan follow pay beck wey me no owe.

I no just understand how some people brain dey work, especially those gamblers wey dey gamble blindly simply say one celebrity or social media influencer stake game and post, them go just rush follow am like werey. Although sometimes, e dey actually they work in their favour but e no mean say na so them supposed carry follow up gambling.

Gambling itself no be be bad thing, na just the way some people dey carry follow am, because say you see where person carry 5million naira take stake game, your mumu button activated say na e be the surest game, then some people go carry their hard earned money go through for the same stake without even thinking twice.

Re: Nigerian street pranks and its effect.
by
Gormicsta
on 10/04/2024, 16:45:26 UTC
As content creation gains popularity and people start making it big from YouTube/ Facebook monetization, content creators are becoming increasingly desperate and are willing to do any content to gain followers.

Pranking people on the street has become a common order with no consideration of the victim's emotional/psychological state of mind.

While we watch these videos and enjoy the entertainment part of it, some of the people pranked are left emotionally drained, some relationship/ couples trust has broken because they were pranked to check there faithfulness to each other and some people have lost so much useful information from there phone because a popular prankster smatched it on the ground and gives the victim a new one, not considering some important information in the phone that might be lost in the process.

Of course, some of these guys have landed themselves in trouble because they pranked the wrong person but others are yet to learn there lessons.

Entertainment is not bad, as a matter of fact I enjoy watching them alot but when you ridicule or take advantage of the ignorance of others just to create your content, it becomes a problem.

Funny enough I've observed that the rate of these prank contents has drastically reduced due to the side effects and the level of trouble these content creators/pranksters land themselves in.

I witnessed a near death experience of one of these content creators who snatched a lady's purse and attempted to run away, before he could take 5 steps, the angry mob was already all over him, that was the very first day I witnessed real life jungle justice, they so messed this guy up, before his videographer could get through the angry mob, the young man had already been beaten to stupor lol... We could barely hear the young man's faint voice screaming,  na prank o, na prank o, na prank o...

Lol it was funny and pitiful at the same time. Inow, nothing wey no be content again, I thought to myself, what if this whole thing was actually staged and planned by the content creator and he was ready to receive the beating for the money... Nothing wey no fit happen again for this country.

Re: POWER OF CORRUPTION
by

on 10/04/2024, 16:26:47 UTC
People dey always dey talk say power corrupt, power corrupt, yes most of us don talk am before, we dey think say na power dey corrupt person but the truth be say most of us already get corruption inside of us we only need the opportunity (power) to bring out the corruption in us. A man once said if you really want to know the person true self give him 3 things: Money, Power and Access to Sex. With this 3 things you can know any one true nature. So no be power dey corrupt, power only reveals corruption.
Wetin you talk, sense dey am, but me I go respectfully disagree with you. Wetin you talk fit be true for some people but make you no generalize am for everybody because of you wan talk am like that that means everybody dey corrupted with or without power because e no get anybody wey go come here, as far as say na human being, wey go talk say e no get e own bad side. People get their own bad sides but e no mean say them dey corrupted. Some people wey dey corrupted today, e no mean say na so them been dey, e get people wey dey compelled to corruption. Wetin I mean be say, before people wey dey corrupted go fit give you wetin you want, them go surely want make you dey like them, especially for this our country politics. Plenty people enter politics with good intentions, but due to how dirty the game dey, if you no play by the rules, you gats back down else it's either you fail or them kill you after you succeed... So in order to get wetin them want, they gats dance to the tune even when e be say no be really wetin them carry for mind. So no true true, power dey really corrupt people if them no take time.

I happy as you take bring this wonderful post here. Na this same matter I been dey reason with my gee yesterday,  relationship na something wey plenty people no dey pay attention to. E get how you go relate with people,  them go feel good and appreciated... na like this you go see the best of them. Everybody make mistakes so make we dey correct people with love and respect.

Tomorrow the people we feel we fit oppress fit be our helper... the world dey turn round. So make we try build good relationships.

We all make mistakes in some manner since we are all human, and it is in our nature to make mistakes. No one is flawless, thus it is necessary to forgive when someone wrongs us because we are sure to hurt one other's feelings from time to time. However, being able to forgive and move on allows us to continue great connections. Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is a crucial component of sustaining good and happy relationships. Sometimes we should appreciate and show them how much they mean to us and how much we love them. This may also go a long way toward creating trust and understanding between each other.

Our own beliefs might be a barrier to achieving our goals. Sometimes we have a fixed attitude, believing that our intelligence and talents are fixed and unchangeable. This might leave us feeling helpless and that there's no purpose in trying. But what we need to foster is a growth mentality, which believes that we can constantly learn and improve. This might provide us the incentive to keep going, even when things get rough. So, if we are always moaning and seeing the bad side of things, we will never be able to achieve progress. Instead, we need to be optimistic, focused, and determined since every successful person in this world has once been a failure before becoming successful so we should grow and focus on our progress instead of being perfect.

Re: Should illegal stealing of crude oil be discarded?

One possible answer is to prioritize creation of employment and economic growth in areas most vulnerable to economic sabotage. This might involve investment in buildings, schools, and other initiatives that enable individuals to make a life. However, I am more worried about the surroundings and health consequences of illicit refining, as well as the fact that it is a hazardous practice that can result in injuries or even death. So, this would assist in tackling the poverty and lack of opportunity that frequently cause individuals to engage in illicit activities, and we could do so with the help of contemporary advances such as drones.

Re: Arise O Compatriots, Nigeria's Call Obey

on 09/04/2024, 12:56:37 UTC
My fellow Nigerians, as we celebrate the independence of our cherished country today, it is fitting to reflect on the aspirations of those who fought tenaciously for self-government. It exhorts us to make the most of the opportunity to reflect and assess whether the Nigeria we are has met our expectations as proud Nigerians. The time has come, in my opinion, to elect leaders who have the intelligence to use public finances to advance equality, strengthening the foundations of our nascent democracy and ensuring that the system works. It is crucial to thoroughly assess the behavior of potential leaders in light of their political motivation and capacity for duty.
I'll ensure that everyone is informed about

I appreciate that these concepts may be difficult to execute, but I believe it is necessary to attempt. It is critical to establish a healthy democracy in Nigeria, which begins with the election of capable and dedicated leaders. We cannot anticipate our country to change immediately, but by taking tiny measures, we can have an impact. It is also vital to strengthen the capacity of government institutions so that they may more successfully carry out their obligations, including enhancing the number of persons who are eager to run for office or selecting someone who is competent, inspired, or has the necessary skills to execute the job properly.

It is not an easy route to make changes, but it is achievable. One thing that needs to happen is for Nigerians to unite and demand change. This might be accomplished through strikes promotion, and voting for the appropriate leaders. It's also critical to hold leaders responsible for their activities and ensure that they're open and honest. Furthermore, it is critical to encourage education and economic opportunity for all so that everyone has a chance to prosper. It is also critical to prioritize creating new infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and airports, as well as to invest in energy sources that are renewable.

The most essential power of any individuals, organization, industries, churches, government, and nations is truly rely on the wings and Caprices of economic power.

Political power is good but political power can not survive without good economic power, political power is irrelevance if there is no good economy situations of any firm. It takes the economic power to build every other aspects of life.

Even government can not operates effectively if they lack or suffered economic kwashiorkor. Smooth organization operates as a function of good economy situations. When you economic power is stable and dignified, the evidence of Man's labour becomes very easy.

You bring up some excellent points! I would also argue that having a healthy regulatory framework is essential for a thriving economy. This involves things like safeguarding customers, encouraging competition, and enforcing rules and regulations. Furthermore, having a strong educational system is critical for developing a trained workforce. Finally, I believe that creativity and independent thinking are critical for building a successful economy. When people are able to develop and establish new enterprises, it generates new employment and possibilities. Also, having a robust social safety net, such as social security and healthcare, can assist to reduce poverty and foster financial stability.

Re: Do you think Bitcoin can end poverty? In a nation today
by
Gormicsta
on 09/04/2024, 10:43:29 UTC
For me proverty is not the problem of a person but of the whole nation in my country the eradication of poverty has becomes necessary for the sustainable and inclusive growth of the let state the fate here Bitcoin has helps the poor by Increasin their savings and access to capital also it has help around 1.7million people in my country and also it has also impoverished people to control their investment.

I believe you are correct that boosting access to savings and capital is a crucial step toward improving the economic status of individuals in society, but the usage of Bitcoin in the country might be for transfers. Cash transfers are transactions in which people transfer money back to their home nation from abroad. Remittances are frequently sent through traditional banking institutions, which can be costly and delayed. However, Bitcoin may be used to transmit money more rapidly and inexpensively, which might have a significant impact on those who rely on transfers to maintain their family. It might also help more people into the online economy and better their lives.

Re: Money and education

Money and education which one of these is advisable to achieve?
They constantly say education is the key to success but in my country today many graduates don't have a job, and most of them are still fed by their parents, and that's not the way it's supposed to be.
And again they also said money is potency and fondness. Yes, money is power even if you are not a graduate or you haven't been to college before and you have the money you can even employ a graduate to work for you.
Presently now in my wonderful fatherland NIGERIA 🇳🇬 I can see the power of money.
Please any advice?

In terms of your unique circumstance, I think it's fantastic that you're considering how to attain success, but from what you've mentioned, it appears like you've expressed an interest in both the economic and creative aspects of things. That's an excellent mix! You may explore a job in a financial assessment or consulting, where you can use your technical talents to assist businesses in making choices, or in advertising or branding, where you can use your creativity to help firms expand. So it's critical to find out what you appreciate and what you want to accomplish in life, and then develop an approach to reach those objectives.

Re: What crisis what food crisis ?

News and every where about crisis and food crisis
T b honest i go to shop and all full of food never had problems with food.
I must get 3 meals per day i couldnt function any less then that if i eat less its a suffering for many people.
People not into suffering struggle games, sure the goverments will get a lot pressure from their own people if they start to play with food.

Also im waiting economic bears but everything going up everybody spend money eating out and i dont see crisis.

Wherr is the crisis and where is the food shortages??
Im full of food i dont see any food shortages also i dont see any supply chain distruptions...i go to all shops and i get everything fine.

The crisis are not nowhere id like to see some real crisis but there is nothing everything is just fine

I believe that both people and organizations may play a role in lobbying for policy change. Individuals can sign petitions, submit letters to their elected officials, and take part in advocacy efforts organized by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or other groups. Organizations can also play a lead role in lobbying for policy changes by collaborating with lawmakers and offering research and data to back up their suggestions. Also, by supporting healthy agricultural programs that seek to make food more available and cheap for everyone, even if we are not directly affected, it is crucial to be aware of what is going on and attempt to help if we can, rather than relying solely on the government.

The hardship in Nigeria increase day by day the massive are suffering. The poor old men and women. That doesn't have access to bank are suffering. Just imagine a pregnant woman died in a hospital just because there was no cash the network was bad for transfer. Where are we going to. Our people are suffering they are dying our leaders should do something about it to me I don't think we have leaders anymore. The people we call our leaders have already failed us. Now it's time for election let's vote wisely let not suffer for 8 years again

I've heard of some Nigerian groups who are striving to make a difference, despite significant hurdles. For example, I've read about an organization called "Save the Children" that is striving to improve healthcare access and nutrition for Nigeria's children. I've also heard of the work of "Doctors Without Borders" in Nigeria, which provides medical care to those in need. These are only two instances of groups making a difference; there are many more. So it's vital to remember that even modest adjustments may have a tremendous impact, and that everyone has the ability to make a difference, even if only in a small way.

Re: Is this considered cheating? or Ilegal?
by
Gormicsta
on 08/04/2024, 21:36:12 UTC
Hello, This happened to me today, on a provably fair Dice Bitcoin gambling site I lost some money, then I checked my bets using an online verifier, in their website they say they use SHA512 algorithm to hash server seed, however, when they revealed the unhashed server seed I checked it using a SHA512 calculator... It should match the hashed server seed they provided to me, however, it does not match.

So the hashed SHA512 of the server seed is different from the hashed server seed they gave to me when I started my session. Isn't that considered cheating? I mean they probably are calculating right the dice value, however, the only fact of having wrong information on their provably fair statement should be enough for a legal complaint, shouldn't it?

Please someone tell me if it is enough to put some lawyers to work, or if it would be just a waste of time. Thanks!

It's also worth noting that, in addition to any legal remedies, you might file an issue with the gambling site's customer service unit. This may not result in compensation, but it may be a means to express your concerns and maybe draw attention to any weaknesses in the system. It's likely that the disparity was a mistake, rather than a deliberate attempt to confuse or scam you. But it's critical to at least raise the matter and attempt to get some answers. If you can gather further proof and documents, you should speak with a lawyer who concentrates in gaming or online laws.

Re: More trouble for crypto?

on 08/04/2024, 21:22:07 UTC
I believe that the future of cryptocurrency is bright, but the journey will be difficult. We may expect more regulation, frauds, and hacks, as well as improved creativity, acceptance, and use cases for cryptocurrency. The technology is still in its early stages, and we are only scratching the surface of what is conceivable. CBDCs, NFTs, and DeFi are among the exciting technologies that will emerge in the next years. We'll also see more everyday life use cases, like as money transfers, payments, and supplies, as Decentralized finance gains recognition, making it simpler to handle your own finances without relying on a traditional bank.

Re: Finally they understand the value of Decentralization !
by
Gormicsta
on 08/04/2024, 21:11:22 UTC
This will inneed be a lesson for people, mostly for retailers and not CEO's behind crypto-projects.
One is expecting to hold dollars in a secure decentralized way, but when we talk about those full-backed assets, in reality there is not much difference from the risk of having one's money in the bank.

There is actually a disadvantage, since in this case, one (as final user) does not have a say on what bank to trust.

On the increase of volume, besides increasing from people trying to swap their tokens for other reliable coins on Uniswap, the volume could be also be due to people trying to pocket a buck, speculating on the value of USDC and arbitrage.

I believe we also need to analyze how a government-backed digital money might affect the financial sector. People might store and transact with their money online, reducing the necessity for traditional institutions. This might cause a disturbance in the banking system, and possibly even the abolition of banks as we know them. It is feasible that the government may become the exclusive supplier of financial services, with consumers no longer needing to go through a bank to get their money. As a result, improved knowledge may lead to increased interest in non-government-backed cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, among others.

Re: Cash is not trash
by
Gormicsta
on 08/04/2024, 20:54:29 UTC
In my country presently, we know how important cash has become, the government decide to renew our Fiat currency and it's not in circulation yet, for some reasons, some people believe that it was intentional because they don't want some bad actors to use Fiat to rig the ongoing election in the country.

But since all this mess have started, many people are suffering, and I as a person have no hold the new fiat Note because I can't get a hold of one yet, and just because many stores prefer Cash than digital transfer, this have make me see how important Fiat currency can be.

Some people will say that Fiat is trash and they keep all their money in stable coins, the truth of this is you are doing things wrong, the stable coins in crypto space are backed by nothing, they can vanish into thin air if the government doesn't want stable coins to exists.

I believe that all stable coins are easier to trample on by the government, more than other crypto projects in this space, Fiat has it's usefulness, let's stop deceiving ourselves, the first time I ever purchased Bitcoin I use Fiat and I believe this is the same as everybody on here, unless you mine your own Bitcoin or get paid in Bitcoin working online.

Do not trash Fiat yourself when it's actually needy, crypto and Fiat must co-exists until the government decide to go digital with Fiat themselves, and Fiat is not trash.

However, if governments create their own digital currency, the crypto environment may shift. For one thing, it might lower demand for stablecoins by allowing consumers to use government-backed digital money instead. It may also make it more difficult for cryptocurrencies to compete with government-backed digital currencies, which have more authority and stability. On the other side, it may raise awareness of digital currencies and make people more comfortable with the concept of utilizing them, which might be beneficial to crypto overall. And because it is digital, it has the potential to be utilized for configurable money and smart contract agreements.

Well, there have been a few proposals for regulating the gaming sector and safeguarding customers. One proposal is to limit the amount of money that individuals may spend on gambling. This might be a daily, weekly, or monthly restriction, depending on the rules in place. This would assist individuals avoid overpaying and falling into financial problems. Another proposal is to mandate all gambling websites to include information on safe gambling practices as well as assistance for those in need. This might include hotlines, counselling services, and instructional materials. As a result, they can assist to decrease the harmful consequences of gambling.

on 08/04/2024, 17:49:07 UTC
I think we the newbie here should be conversant with some trading terms here like CFDs, binance, indices, DIP and HODL and so one. I plead with some of our senior members here to create  threads that will educate us on this trading terms and acronyms and also the right techniques to follow in trading so that it will guide us during trading times. I know everything in life is about stages but it is important that we have a pre-knowledge of how trading works and how to follow the right concept.

Absolutely! FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) is a particularly significant notion in the cryptocurrency realm. Because of the high levels of unpredictability and the "get rich quick" mindset that some investors possess. There are several tales of people who purchased Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies at a cheap price, kept onto them, and then saw their value explode, earning them a lot of money. This might cause FOMO in folks who believe they missed out on this chance. However, keep in mind that cryptocurrency markets are notoriously unpredictable, and there is no assurance that this will happen again.
