Re: How do you hedge against unexpected volatility while trading futures
by
GreatArkansas
on 25/07/2025, 13:38:00 UTC
Lately, futures trading has been really unpredictable. The market has been moving in unexpected ways, and the high volatility is making it hard to keep a steady return.

Just yesterday, I went 100% long on POPCAT with 20x leverage. Things looked good at first, but within 30 minutes, the price came back to my entry point and I ended up making nothing on the trade.

Moments like this are making me rethink my strategy. I'm starting to feel that spot trading might be a better option for now. It’s more stable, and I don’t have to worry about getting liquidated. I’m thinking of growing my holdings in coins like BGB, SOL, and SUI instead.

But before I fully switch, I’m wondering if there’s a way to manage or hedge against this kind of volatility while still trading futures. Is there a smart way to protect my trades or reduce the risk? Any advice would really help.
I think you need to consider the trading volume of the pair you are trading, POPCAT is far low trading volume compared to these top altcoins like SOL or SUI.
So expect huge votalities too and less trading activities as trading volume are low plus market cap also low - it could add about volatility in trading futures.

Re: Arthur Hayes Predicts $250K Bitcoin and $10K ETH:

Para sakin this year?

I forgot to place a bet today, San Miguel is already leading now in the 3rd quarter. I was really expecting San Miguel Beermen will win in Game 5, but unfortunately I forgot that tonight is their game.
Good start for San Miguel Beermen.

I don't have any links or statistics, but if we're talking about countries with the highest gambling rates in the world (not the number of gamblers), I think Las Vegas in the United States still leads the world in terms of gambling.

However, I would also mention Macau in China as the city or district with the highest gambling rate in the world and its closest competitor to Las Vegas in the United States.
I agree, these cities are famous for it's capital for gambling. No doubts. Macau is the Las Vegas of Asia. I have some friends working in Macau, and they said it's really full of casinos and the gambling rate is extremely high.
But for me, these cities are also helping the country to generate more revenue.

If Tropang Giga were able to get 1 win, I believe there's a huge possibility they can win tonight before the Beermen claim the championship.
So for me, I'm having a risk bet for Tropang Giga +3.5 tonight. Just hoping this is the right script.

EZ WIN! HAHAHA, seems the script is real Cheesy
Just kidding!

Anyways, what Tropang Giga showed was a fantastic comeback after a 1-3 series. TNT is just showing how good they are in 3-point shots; that's what TNT is known for, and they used it in the early minutes to take advantage.
They found a way to play with Junmar Fajardo; they made him foul trouble early, and that was a good advantage too.

For OP, go for what others suggested above that are FREE. Avoid those paid courses because some of them, or most, are just the same as what you can access in free courses, especially on YouTube videos, if you want to learn from videos, or else go for some written articles, just like what was shared above.

Going for the SMB Beermen for tonight's game. As what i have seen in the last four games, i don't that there is an anomaly on the games played, i mean there was no rigging on the games going on Smiley. The Beermen have covered the spread on all their wins so i think they will cover the spread tonight if they win.

Good luck bai!
I want to copy your bet about under 205 total scores, but right now, it's too far in Bc.game, like the under 197.5 now is just 1.6 odds.

Maybe I will wait once the game starts and if there's available of Under 205 points with good odds, I'll take it.

Re: Cockfighting led to a horrible case

I am not against the use of animals to work the land in rural zones, but I am against cockfighting and the sacrifice of animals for the sake of fun.
I agree with you, these animals Contribute greatly to people's food supply and are necessary for that purpose. It is not right to use them as a means of Entertainment and diversion for humans, I respect the beliefs of each country, but I also disagree with Anything that has to do with this practice.
Exactly! This has also become a tradition for decades, and using animals, such as cockfighting, is also the same as eating chickens or any other animals. What's only different is the use of it, like it's for entertainment.
Also, sometimes here in our country, if your cock died during the fight, the enemy can take it or you, and at home you can cook it and eat it, so for me in this case, nothing is wasted.

Re: What is the cost of your mistakes?
by

(....)
First of all, this is risk management and money management. The second is probably unsystematic play. Let me make a reservation that I do not mean casinos, as well as people playing "for fun". I mean sports betting.
So, how much did your mistakes cost? Did they cause you a serious psychological blow? What were your mistakes, did you learn from these mistakes and do you apply this knowledge in practice now? Were these mistakes simply painful, dramatic or catastrophic?
For me, when I started in sports gambling - Dota2 and NBA, I lost too much money, it's 2 months of my paycheck in just less than a month. What were my huge losses in sports gambling before, which I have already learned that I don't need to lose that much money in gambling. After that, I learned my lesson to have self-control.

Re: What do you do with a good trading strategy?
by
GreatArkansas
on 23/07/2025, 02:11:24 UTC
What do you do to a trading strategy that already earns you a good percentage in profit. do you still try improving on it to ensure it does not fail? or do you let it be until it starts showing signs of failure?

It is a simple question but I think answers and opinions will be different considering that some traders may fear further tampering with the strategy, others will no want to wait until it fails, what is your style?
There's nothing wrong with improving, as long as you are profitable and you learn something new, so it's good.
But for me, improving it or mastering the strategy is already good, even a small percentage of profit, as long as it is consistent - it is already profit. As long as your capital is well protected - all good.

Dapat lang talaga ito! Madami pa jan, dapat pati yung mga old videos or posts ng ibang personalities ay e checheck din kasi hanggang ngayon pwede parin yun mapanoud ng ibang tao either e remove nila totally.

Pero yung kay Sachzna Laparan, I think di totoo kasi active parin page niya at may post siya about dito, sabi niya ay fake news, at parang may na take down lang na post niya at panandilang suspension sa account niya dahil daw sa pamimigay nya ng Gcash.

Re: 6 years old Trezor Model One just died?

Is there any way I can see if there's any more funds inside my Trezor? I remember, I already transferred out all of my funds from this hardware wallet, but I just want to be sure.
Like there's a way without buying again a Trezor Model One?
I wouldn't do what rdluffy suggested unless it's absolutely necessary. Regardless if you think you still have funds there or not, you would decrease the security of your coins by importing your seed from a hardware wallet into a hot software wallet. You said you moved your funds. Where? Did you transfer them to a different hardware wallet? If so, you could restart that wallet and import your old Trezor seed into it to see if there is still some crypto there. At least that way your security shouldn't decrease. I am hoping it's not a bad choice of a hardware wallet.

When you are done, restart it to factory settings again and switch seeds.
Nah, I won't do what Rdluffy suggested, too hassle, and I believe I may have cost more instead of buying a new one.
I remember I moved the funds from Trezor to Ledger wallet, but I just want to make sure like no more funds left in my Trezor, like double check.

If you've already transferred your balance and just want to be sure, you can take your seed and open your wallet in another wallet
Electrum for example https://electrum.org/
How many words are in your seed?
It's 24 words. So it is possible to import it into the Electrum wallet and see if there's still a balance available?

(....)
Purchase a new one and restore the wallet using the seed phrase.
Yes, this is my last option if I really want to push to check if there's still available funds in my wallet.

I already emailed Trezor Support, they asked me for additional video or pictures about my device having no display and they also asked for the order id if I purchased it from their official store, but I purchased it long time ago in their reseller online store.
I am waiting for their reply now

You can still try a different USB cable even if at first everything seems to be ok with the one you are using. Maybe it's losing power somehow and doesn't have enough juice to power on the display.

If it's not that, I guess your Trezor's screen died or is dying on you. A Ledger Nano S screen is easy to replace but I don't think you will have much luck with the Trezor One.
There is a trick you can try with your phone camera. Connect the Trezor and fire up Trezor Suite where it asks to enter the PIN. Then, turn on the camera on your phone and point it at the screen of your Trezor. Look at the image on your phone's display and check if you can see the PIN pattern. Adjust the angles. Try both with the front and back camera of your phone. Experiment with different lights in your room. More brightness, less brightness, etc. Maybe it will work.

Some say you can also try pointing a flashlight at the display or turn on the flash on your phone.
I would also contact Trezor support and tell them what is happening. Ask them for advice.

Did you maybe drop the device on the floor? Can humidity be a reason the Trezor is dying?
Tried everything you said, still no chance. Thanks.
I only barely use this hardware wallet, maybe that is also the reason, like for long time, it's not plugged in.

Contact Trezor customer care instead. This is the best that you can do.

It may get to the point that you will have to get another Trezor hardware wallet, this will be a good option.

Warning: make sure that you did not take it to anywhere for repair, your wallet is different from your smart phone. If Trezor did not tell you to send it to them for repair, do not give anyone else for repair, but just buy a new one. Luckily, there is still Trezor one on the official Trezor website but I will advice you to get something like Safe 3.
Thanks, I'll try to contact them.

Saw one of the comments, I think it's not worth fixing anymore.

When you plug it in, does the computer recognize it's attached?  If so, then it's turning on, so the issue could just be with the display.  If the computer isn't recognizing it, the issue could be with the USB port, and maybe the earlier issue with the lines on the screen was an indicator it wasn't getting enough power.

I've had my Model One for about 5 years, but I switched to a ColdCard and a Passport a few years ago, and have only been using my Trezor T2 for Monero ever since.  It's been at least two years, maybe more since I've plugged in my Model One.

try a different usb plug would be the first idea if you have another one.
No problem with the USB cable. My computer can read the wallet it even prompted me about the PIN, but my wallet has really no display, I can't see the screen so I can't enter correct PIN to unlock it after I open my Trezor Suit software on my computer.

I think it depends on how much money they are playing, so let's say they are saying it's only for fun, leisure, and they are really spending an extremely small amount of money, like money that they can afford to lose, then for me it's fine. If that is their goal in playing/gambling, even lose or win, that's fine and acceptable.

Re: [Boxing] Mario Barrios vs Manny Pacquiao WBC Welterweight Title - July 19

on 21/07/2025, 02:14:55 UTC
I was shocked by the result, and I guess the majority of those who watched it were shocked as well. When they hadn't announced the decision yet, I was like, Damn, those who bet on Pacman winning by decision made big this time. But after it was announced as a DRAW, I was like, WTF was that? The casinos are the ones who made big this time. That was really unexpected. Nah, with this DRAW, I don’t think Manny will stop boxing just yet. Maybe he’s aiming to beat Hopkins' record.
Yeah, I remember a lot of people in social media posting that they are expecting a refund or money placed will be back on some of online platforms they place their bets but gone, some of them are lured by huge odds because there's a match that you have to place your bets in either of 3: Pacman Win or Draw or Barrios Win.

So, I believe there are also some people who placed bets on a Draw with huge odds, and these people are lucky. I think the platform or bookie really didn't earn huge money because they still need to pay a huge amount to those people who placed bets on a Draw.
