Transferred out of ECC, failed to confirm, but the balance was deducted,

i dont know what you are trying to do. transferred out of where? can you give me more information than this?

How can I do some rescanning in Sapphire client? It shows wrong balance.

edit the eccoin.conf file for rescan=1 to do rescan, there is no way to do this from directly within the sapphire UI.
Unfortunately, it didn't help.

Is it possible to dump private key and import into a new wallet? I am sure it will do the trick.

you can do this via the console in lynx. use the help command to get a list of all valid commands

you are the first person ive heard have troubles on ubuntu. what version of ubuntu are you running? prior to 16.04 might have some odd issues since most development has been done past 2016 and 14.04 is from 2014.
are you compiling for ubuntu with the autotools or the makefile?
are you compiling lynx yourself or running the appimage published to the website?

there is no QT wallet anymore. so, thats correct, it shouldnt compile.

yes, lynx is buggy. we are working on it. its something new to crypto in general and will probably have some bugs for a little while. in the end though it will be better for users than any of the qt wallets out there.

The coin has reached maximum supply. staking will only yield tx fees.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

A) I'm using Linux Mint 18.3 which is based on Ubuntu 16.04.

B) I have tried both ways:
1- Running make -f makefile.unix inside the src folder (as per the doc/build-unix.MD file).
2- Running ./autogen.sh followed by ./configure and make
After correcting some errors, the first one kinda works but of course only produces the "eccoind" file (no GUI wallet) and trying to call "eccoind" with "--help" argument results in a segmentation fault error.
The second one requires A LOT of fixes to make it work and even so it is still plagued by the same error as the first one.

C) I tried the Linux version of the appimage published  on the website. Running it results in the following error:
execv error: No such file or directory
I am running it inside firejail (I don't run any wallet with full access to my files) but according the documentation from AppImage, any wallet should run fine from within firejail.

D) In my opinion, even if you find Lynx a great thing, you should provide a working wallet base on QT until Lynx is a viable choice.
Right now it is just a piece of bloated software full of errors. No one wants that.

E) I don't see any rewards, not even transaction fees. Instead my balance goes down and Lynx shows less coins than what I bought (which seems to be just another bug of Lynx as the debug console shows my correct balance).

ive never tried to build a coin on mint (nor have i ever used mint) so anything platform specific i cant help you with there. there is no more gui code in the repo so yeah, it wont produce a gui wallet.

as for a base qt wallet... ill take a poll on that i suppose. thats not a bad idea.

the chances of getting a staking reward right now are very low. there are about 1800 blocks minted a day and less than 30 have tx fees in them due to current tx volumes. so thats probably the reason for that.

Hello,

There are some issues with your project:

1) It is extremely difficult to compile on Ubuntu. It is just one error after the other.
I lost track of how many errors I had to correct. I even had to copy files and instructions from other coins to get it to compile.

2) The Lynx wallet refuses to run on Ubuntu.

3) The QT wallet doesn't compile.

4) The Lynx wallet is extremely buggy (even on Windows). Empty messages and "NaN" quantities all over the place.
I can't help but say "what a piece of $%#".

5) Staking works but no rewards are accrued even after several days. Hundreds of transactions shown and no rewards.

6) You need to create a real wallet and get rid of that Lynx stuff.

you are the first person ive heard have troubles on ubuntu. what version of ubuntu are you running? prior to 16.04 might have some odd issues since most development has been done past 2016 and 14.04 is from 2014.

hi ratflat & welcome; PoS was turned off with the last release

THIS IS WRONG.

PoS was NOT turned off and it NEVER will be. People need to be staking in order for the block chain to move forward

Nice to see some progress finally.
Cryptobridge has finally added ECC.
Hope to see the complete website by the end of this month.
This really reminds me of Tron and Verge when I was watching them at the same position and they exploded to 30 cents.

Ive been burnt before by rushing in on new exchanges. Does the community have good things to say about this cryptobridge?
From my experience over last 2years i feel that coinexchange.io is excellent.
I would donate to get LTC and Doge markets on ^^^^^^^^ for ECC, are others interested in getting these trading pairs active. I think its a 0.1btc price per trading pair, id pledge 0.05btc towards it....

i personally have no experience with and have never used cryptobridge

Hi everyone,

Since more and more people are joining asking how they can contribute to development or have questions about what the devs are working on right now. A project has been created inside the github repository that holds the wallet code. I have started to move the devs todo list into the cards within the repo. This will help devs to keep track of who is doing what task and also help the community to track what the developers are currently working on.

The devleopment project can be found at https://github.com/project-ecc/eccoin/projects/1

If you are a developer and want to pick up a card, you can PM me and tell me you want to take one of the tasks. I will mark that it has been assigned to you and move it to the "in progress" column. If you pick up a card and get stuck, you can always ask for help since I know a lot of devs know how to code but dont know a lot about the blockchain project structure in general.

So what's the actual supply of this coin?  I heard while it officially may be 25B, up to 1/2 may have been "lost."

25Billion have been minted/staked and 25Billion is the circulating supply. coins "lost" is a concept and cant be proven or directly measured. 99% of the talk of "lost" coins is conjecture and should simply be ignored.

Hi,
there has been a slight change in project structure.

For all developers:
the githubs have been migrated from my personal github to a github project. they can now be found at https://github.com/project-ecc/eccoin and https://github.com/project-ecc/Lynx

For everyone else:
if you find a link to either the Lynx or eccoin github link that is no longer working because of the migration, please report it so it can be fixed.

To answer the question of "what are the devs working on" and ease any concerns, here is our current checklist we were trying to complete for the next release (this is just a copy and paste so its in dev speak and has some developer notes in it).

GUI
-downlaods menu is no longer a tab, start button now replaces itself
-daemon now replaced with wallet
-configuration under settings where it should be
-fix balance bug, should now show all balances correctly
-fix wallet version, should read from package file
-fix the transaction table
-fix new version available message
-fix internal server error
- fix backup wallet button
- add button to menu to change staking state without restarting the wallet using setgenerate
- make time to unlock wallet option. should have some arbitrary high default value if no specific number input
- progress bar for daemon download, helps on slower connections even though its only 30MB

DAEMON
-add ability to toggle where change is sent in tx, now defaults to address where coins were being sent from instead of creating a new address. This should help users check their addresses on BE with better accuracy
-add service tx's for ANS and other services. no port available, no one has done this
-implement full network manager for all network services. no port available, no one has done this
-implement chain manager. no port available, no one has done this
- add ANS tx checks to processtx
-fix the transaction table, combine coinstake inputs and outputs
-import autogen/configure scripts
-fix travisCI configs
- add rpc call to reload settings from config file, will need to pause wallet to do this safely. some settings cannot be reloaded with this command, see safety list
- rpc to add contact to address book
- rpc to delete contact from address book
- rpc to modify contact in address book
- rpc to check password validity/encryption precense
- add load percentage to block index
- improve network sync time. port from 14.2
- improve load block index time.
- port in rescan ability without full wallet restart from 14.2

For everyone having issues, we are working on it. You can always seek help for any problems you might have in support channel in slack

Thank you,
-Griffith

Hello,

I have a lot of ecc that I mined years ago in an old macintosh qt wallet.  I can start it up but no nodes are found.  Any ideas/suggestiosn on how I can send these coins to an exchange like coinexchange.io?  I cannot find a current mac qt wallet for ecc coin.

Thanks in advance,
Daniel

that qt wont connect because it has an old deprecated version.

There are no current mac wallets for ECC. we are working on it though.

Worked. Thanks! Would it be beneficial to have a troubleshooting doc on the website or OP to answer common questions? Maybe users can contribute solutions they've found?
im currently working on this. Its pretty extensive but isnt dont yet. it will be put on the github and website

Why is this coin only on 1 exchange? What is the plan with this coin?

we are currently testing the first service network (address to name service). once it is done we need to update the gui a bit and will be pushing to get it on more exchanges since it will be the first coin with this feature implemented in a fully decentralized way

I have also found my old wallet Smiley even though I am almost sure that I have had my ECC coins on an exchange, most likely askcoin.net that vanished Sad
Anyhow, I have installed Lynx and imported my wallet.dat file, nothing really happened in the app, seems like it did not recognise the wallet, also the sync progress is at only 0.4% after hours of running the app. Is that normal?

Thanks Smiley
Mine just completed after two full days, but my balance is showing 0, when it shouldn't. Any ideas anyone?

try adding

rescan=1
zapwallettxes=1

to your eccoin.conf file and then restarting the wallet.

just make sure to remove them again afterwards

Hey Griffith,
What is the latest version of the wallet? Thanks

daemon is 0.2.5.5
gui is 0.1.5 but it will display 0.1.4 inside of it cuz of a bug that has since been fixed for next release

Hey everyone,

There have been some questions about what the new roadmap will be recently. so today i will share with all of you what it will be.
The following steps are is the outline for the basic development plan that we are going to follow.

1 ) implement service networks
2 ) implement network manager
3 ) launch first service network - Address-Name Service (ANS)
4 ) test launching multiple chains, 1 for each network
5 ) test messaging with data stored different network from payment network
6 ) test storage scaling from messages to files
7 ) modify electrum servers to cooperate with mobile devices
8 ) alternative daemons for market integration into merchant services

The testnet that is going to be started tomorrow will be testing steps 1 and 2 since they have been implemented but not fully tested. If the testers and myself can establish that the network manager is infact working, then we will move on to the next step of testing the first service network.

There will be a channel for this testing in the slack for those of you who want to follow the conversation of the testers. This channel will be created when the test net for the network manager is launched.

Hey everyone,

Its the beginning of the month again and that means its time for some updates. Throughout November we actually had a lot of things going on although at times it might not have seemed like it. There is a lot coming in the next month and here are some of the things we have been working on:

We have desingers working on the new website based on the design doc the marketing people have made. We found a firm to do this and they are working on it right now. Im very excited about this personally.

The developers and other tech savvy people will have the opportunity to compile a testnet wallet (daemon only no gui) to join the testnet launch on sunday/monday to begin testing the new multiple chains and then moving on to our first service (ANS)

A gui update will be pushed out that addresses a few complaints we have had
- downloads menu is no longer a tab, the button will replace itself with a link to the menu when an update is available or it cannot find the daemon
- removal of some buttons that didnt work and had no purpose
- configuration is now under settings like it should be
- configuration menu now works as buttons and will edit config file for you
- Fixed new version available message
- Fixed internal server error message
- Updated the transaction table so it is easier to read
- Fixed the backup wallet menu so it works
- Fixed a bug with showing staking coins
- Added ability to update staking setting (turn staking on and off) WITHOUT restarting the daemon (requires newest daemon to work)

A daemon update that includes:
- ability to toggle where change is sent in a transaction. now defaults to returning to address coins were sent from instead of creating a new address to put coins in. This should help people check their addresses on the BE better.
- A few updates to the wallet startup process that should help it go faster, it is now up to date with the latest bitcoin code. It still is a bit slow though. We are looking into that.
- A bunch of internal changes that wont be seen now but change the way the wallet works a bit in preparation for the multichain going live.
- Some additional dev tools for testers
- fixed that unknown transaction type found error that people are seeing in their debug files

We are also working on supporting more platforms. This is mostly important for compiling your own wallets. We are importing the autogen/configure scripts so its easier for people to build. although for unix systems the makefile will still be supported. All other makefiles will be removed if they havent been already since anything not unix should be addressed by the autogen and configure scripts. the Pro file does once again allow for compilation in qt on a windows machine (even though there is no qt gui)

We are also going to be starting to push hard for some exchanges that allow coins to be added via voting. So stay tuned for an announcement on that. its high time we expand to other exchanges.

since there have been a few questions about it. i did message the people who were making that game about letting me test it and getting ecc added. As far as i know they still have plans to add it as an in game coin. i have been messaging them about it recently, so as of right now it all looks good.

The last thing is the roadmap. I have updated and decided on a more accurate and updated roadmap for what is happening. so that will be posted here, and on BCT before the end of the weekend.

Hey everyone,

It is time for a quick development update about the daemon. Most of the updates that will be put out in the next daemon release are bug fixes that have been requested since the last update. We have also been working on getting the wallet to open faster. I have upgraded the code that loads the blocks off of the disk to the latest code used in BTC. so that should help a bit.

We have also successfully implemented a lot of the new chain, service, and network managers that are essential to the service networks that will be coming to ECC. a new testnet for ANS will be opening soon so testing can begin. I will make a separate announcement for that when it is time.

With the new services being released soon, the team is also working on building a new UI interface for the coin (Lynx will still be available if desired) . We have also been working on the design document for ECC and the new website.

I know it hasn't seemed like a lot of stuff has been happening lately but thats only because a lot of it is behind the scenes in preparation for big development debuts.

Thanks for your continued support,
Griffith
