Re: ARE ICOS STILL LEGIT?
by
Jeremy Franklin
on 22/10/2020, 09:15:38 UTC
What kind of question is this? seriously? some are some are not. Do your own research and find out. Nobody on this forum can tell you what's best for your money, it's your choice ffs.

ICOs for anonymous projects are illegal and it is still going on, I have not seen any litigation related to these projects as these projects are unknown owners.
For projects with clear owners and company registrations, the ICO is legal since they have registered the company in a country that allows an ICO to be held, usually an ICO comes with AML / KYC standards.

When an ICO doesnt fulfill the legal regulations of a certain country don't participate. Easy as that.

Many have been scam with ICO. I dont think ICO are still Legit. That's my opinion. These days, projects prefer ICO to IEO of they know they are not Legit enough to do IEO
I think something is upside down, now it's not the era of ICO anymore, even IEOs have started to be quiet since DeFi was established, although some people still think that DeFi won't last long, but DeFi is currently in a good trend.

DeFi is the same horseshit as ICOs in 2017. Dont burn yourself.

Re: Will you buy BTC from PayPal now that they are letting people do it?
by
Jeremy Franklin
on 22/10/2020, 09:10:03 UTC
I won't use it. Just check what was posted here. Paypal + Bitcoin has nothing do to with "Be your own Bank" and obviously by using Paypal there is no financial freedom.

Check the Paypal FAQ here:

Cryptocurrency on PayPal FAQ

Quote
Are there any fees? [valid in 2020]
There are no transaction fees when buying or selling Crypto with PayPal until 2021, and there are no fees for holding Crypto in your account. However, PayPal will charge a spread (or margin) between the market price we receive from our trading service provider (Paxos) and the exchange rate between US dollars and the Crypto asset displayed to the user. You'll see the final exchange rate before confirming any purchase or sale of Crypto.

Can I use Cryptocurrencies to pay or send money with PayPal?
At this time, you cannot use Crypto as a way to pay or send money on PayPal.

Can I use my Cryptocurrency balance as a funding source for my purchases?
No, not at this time.

Can I transfer Cryptocurrency into and out of PayPal?
Currently, you can only hold the Cryptocurrency that you buy on PayPal in your account. Additionally, the Cryptocurrency in your account cannot be transferred to other accounts on or off PayPal.

Will I get a private key for the Cryptocurrency I buy on PayPal?
You own the Cryptocurrency you buy on PayPal but will not be provided with a private key. In case you are wondering, a private key is a person's secret code to access and manage their Cryptocurrency.

I tried following the link given by Jeremy Franklin as being the source of the plagerised text,

using the red highlighted text:

but Google could not find that text:

Perhaps this is why the admin/mods are taking their time verifying the assertion made by Jeremy Franklin?

You make it great easy for yourself...
Now you have to shift everything on me, even though you have not behaved any better...

Main thing you are proud of this...sorry I'm out, have fun!

dont make this personal. you broke the rules when you plagiazed the text and I called you out on it and you didnt like it.

also there is a difference between you and me. you tried to get in DT for weeks. just see your trust list on bpip. you added 5 people every week and you gave positive feedback to half of the forum for basically everything. you were obviously hoping that someone trusts you back that you get in DT.

I dont care if I am DT or not. I just dont want to get negative feedback by a plagiarist like you.

Look, I've tried to explain to you more than once in peace and quiet.

Yes, because you don't want other people to report your posts.

But do you think it's your right to continue to put me on the pillory, even though it has obviously already been decided?

I see it somewhat differently... I think no!
And when you finally realize, I've made a statement about it, that I did something wrong and that I should have paid more attention to this matter.
And that I have deeply regretted it and still do...
I also wrote with a mod, who told me, that i reacted well to it, but that i have to wait, because such things are always decided in silence.
And either it happens within the following days and I am banned, or even not! Especially with "higher ranking members", they look deeper into the history, and weigh up whether (I in this case) is a good or bad member, and if it makes sense in the future to give me ONE second chance... thats what I've understand!

If this is true, why is my report still unhandled and not declined? You are not my enemy. You are breaking the forum rules.

But I would find it unfair if you all distrust me now...

You don't know how to use the trust system properly and you find it unfair that people distrust you? are you serious?

I've excluded both Jeremy Franklin and SiNeReiNZzz. This fixed the DT2 red rating that was inappropriate, but so is red trust for plagiarism. Plagiarists should be reported to moderators. Even if moderators disagree with you, it's not ok to use the trust system to enforce forum rules unless there is an actual trade risk involved.

thanks, I remove my negative feedback from SiNeReiNZzz. I only gave it because my report for plagiarism is unhandled for weeks.

He's been here since 2014 and doesn't know how serious plagiarism is here?  If what you say about this account changing hands, I'll be happy to give him a red tag.  And yeah, I'm not sure why he hasn't been banned already.

Jesus Christ, does the DT list have zero meaning anymore or what?

The account changed hands several times and just woke up to participate in signature campaigns...

[HELP] TRUST ABUSE BY PLAGIARIST / DT MEMBERS PLEASE HELP

Jeremy Franklin

Hi all,

I am reaching out to all DT members to please check my case:

A few days ago I gave a negative feedback to the user SiNeReiNZzz.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=251328

My feedback was based on this reason:

I can't tell for sure if it's plagiarism or not, but this post looks "from another world":
<cut>

Of course, as Rikafip already noted, this is pure plagiarism. He copied entire sentences with some minor modifications. I highlighted the parts that are blatant copy/paste and the rest is partially spun.

Logistics platforms based on blockchain technology are not only technically demanding, but also require the clarification of many legal issues.
In addition to data protection, for example, the implementation of the many legal sources that are particularly relevant to transport must be taken into account.
For example, the transport law framework conditions are relatively complex, because the legal cornerstones result from a complex interplay of modality-related conventions, the (controversial) rules of multimodal transport and the different national legal norms.

Furthermore, quasi-binding specifications of the lex mercatoria (e.g. ERA 600 or BIMCO bill of lading) must also be taken into account.
Moreover, such automated systems must be coordinated with the mandatory standards at national and international level (such as formal requirements or restrictions on liability for damages).
Furthermore, questions of ownership and the role of securities and book-entry securities will have to be clarified within the block chain.
Finally, the question of how to deal with the large number of discretionary decisions must also be answered, for example in assessing fault, quantifying damages or interpreting specific contractual obligations and duties.

Why is such a user in DT and not banned from the forum? SiNeReiNZzz is a plagiarist and I don't buy his excuses. He tried to clear up his post and added a source later on. Moreover he gave some lame excuse that he used the text some years back in university when he wrote an article about the topic. Obviously nobody was able to verify that and I don't believe him. See the archived post for full information.

For my feedback SiNeReiNZzz gave me a revenge feedback with is a obvious trust abuse. He is also insulting me:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=2383451

My question to all DT members is: Why am I the person who is getting a negative feedback here? SiNeReiNZzz is a DT2 member and his feedback seems to count.

He clearly deserves to be out of the DT circle and a red trust for his plagiarism.

Dear DT members please help me on that case.

Bumping this for visability, since my reports are still unanswered. The user SiNeReiNZzz clearly plagiarized the quoted posts. He tried to clean up the evidence and added a source afterwards, so please check the archived version of the post!

This is one of the threads here in the forum. If you go through it you will find so many shilled scam projects. I highly suggest everyone not to trust the bullsh*t shared here. If you want to check out if a new DeFi project is legit or not I would suggest you to check one of these threads, which are getting updated on a regular basis:

Don't get blinded by unreal high returns. If someone is to good to be true, it usually is! So always make sure not to invest in another scam and lose your money. Better safe than sorry!

on 11/10/2020, 20:08:22 UTC
Not only 2020-2021, but many more years, without any competition, BTC and ETH will stick to their respective places. Looking at the market capitalisation, it's very hard for any project to reach to it.

I agree. You don't need ten projects to invest in. I personally would prefer BTC of course and a few selected alts, e.g. ETH, ADA or DOT. In addition to that I won't choose any DeFi projects, since there are so many scams out there. You basically can't tell if a project is real or just another scam. It really reminds me of the ICO bubble in 2017/2018. New projects getting hyped day by day, but you can't tell if they are legit or not.

BTC and ETH will always be there, they have already consolidated their position, TRON has still shown itself well for me, I think it will also be fixed in the top, and with the first 5 points I am solgasen

Why do you think TRX will rise? I am still not sure if it has potential.

Good catch and summarize @OP but I don't think it's necessary to create similar topic that has been discussed before [1] [2] So, it's better if you post your report on these topic and lock this topic.

Good catch @Jawhead999! These lists are extremly helpful when it comes to detecting possible DeFi scams. And from what I have seen the lists are getting regular updates. I will of course bookmark them and check them out before I invest in a DeFi project. It's crazy how many scammers are out there. And even if there is a decent project after a few days several clones are popping up.

Anyway, thanks for sharing this here!

What are the projects you guys are looking for? Are there upcoming Defi project sales which you keep an eye on?

I honestly don't see many interesting DeFi projects out there. To be honest there are only a few. The current situation reminds me a lot of the ICO hype in 2017 when new projects were popping up almost every day. And with the current DeFi hype it's almost the same. Sketchy foodcoins and clones of the few established DeFi projects are getting created every day now and people seem to fall for it. You just have to check Telegram or Twitter and you will find many messages in which people cry that they lost all their money in one of the various DeFi scams.

Currently the most interesting DeFi project out there might be UniSwap since it really has a grown userbase and people are willing to use UniSwap over some other established CEXs. Another interesting project which is about to launch soon is the Lattice Exchange, another DEX, which might have a bright future. Definitely worth a closer look!

Re: Top 5 SAFEST Cryptocurrencies to BUY right now! 💰
by
Jeremy Franklin
on 08/10/2020, 13:44:44 UTC
Yeah, I agree that the title is somewhat misleading, there's no such thing as "Safest" crypto as we all know that it's very volatile, and also fluctuates in short amount of time. That's why is really hard to give advises here. Maybe choose in the top 10 altcoins and then watch how it will perform. You need to play a lot in this markets and then see how it's going to fit in your goal, short or long term and your risk appetite as well.

First of all, one has to say that no cryptocurrency can be called "safe". All of them are high risk investments and before investing in any coin, one should always do a lot of research and really think through if it's worth investing or not.

If one wants to compare the different coins out there to each other, one could say that Bitcoin should be the safest to invest in, since it's by far the top coin out there. My additional choices would be coins like Ethereum or Cardano, but compared to other investments like stocks, gold or treasuries all of these are high risk and not "safe" in anyway.

That's why you should always DYOR before investing in any cryptocurrency.

Don't get fooled my missleading titles of a Youtube video.

Will Uniswap remain it's top position or is this just a hype?
This is not just hype, decentralized exchanges like uniswap will be even more popular in the future, as they are safer from hacking.

I am pretty sure UniSwap will stay around for some time. People are looking for anonymous exchanges to trade their tokens and UniSwap has a top position in this field. I am very excited for the future of UniSwap and maybe current users might be lucky again and get an additional airdrop when UniSwap V3 goes live. Thats why I got a question concerning UniSwap:

Do you guys think there will be another airdrop round for UniSwap V3? If yes, what do you think who will get it? Do you think it will be only for holders? Or maybe everyone who did a trade in a certain timeframe will be eligible for a future airdrop?

Re: How do you find out about new projects?
by
Jeremy Franklin
on 08/10/2020, 13:25:40 UTC
Hi everyone, I mostly participate in public token sales, so I need to know about the start of sales as early as possible to prepare. I wonder how you learn about new projects? I am particularly interested in how people learn about projects that only have a discord channel. Or do you follow the investment of any funds? Maybe there are some informational subreddits? Let's share useful sources!

In my opinion one of the best sources to find out about new projects is the Service Announcements (Altcoins) board here on Bitcointalk. Almost every reliable project will create a announcement thread here and it's pretty easy to tell if people are really interested in the new projects or if it's only bots that are pushing the thread to the top.

That's how I recently found out about the Lattice exchange, a new interesting DEX, which is worth a closer look.  Smiley

The best ico list site in the crypto industry and that's called icodrop. More than 90% of icos that have already listed on this platform have become the major coins or successful project.

You should put this in your list too as the owner of icodrop is also very active investing in the legit icos too.

https://icodrops.com/

This most reliable site based on my experience.  Grin

I actually can not recommend icodrops, since they shared so many scams in the past. I honestly don't know how people can still trust this website.

Re: DeFi hyip is over?
by
Jeremy Franklin
on 08/10/2020, 13:20:20 UTC
To date, DeFi has still not lost its relevance and interest from investors, but one must take into account the fact that scammers have begun to use the current situation and the risk, as well as the danger, is increasing several times.

DeFi hasn't reached it's top yet. There are still projects popping up nearly every day (from various food coins to other clones). Most of these projects have absolutely no value and won't be around long term. It really reminds me of the ICO hype in 2017, but this time it's even worse. Hopefully some serious projects will come up pretty soon.

If you guys want to check if a new DeFi project might be another scam, I advise you to check the  Scam Accusations board here in the forum. DeFi scams get exposed there almost every day and our community is doing a great job fighting these scammers.

Re: Binance: $BNB The Future of Exchanges.
by
Jeremy Franklin
on 05/10/2020, 13:43:15 UTC
I am actually seeing $BNB at about 100$~ in a future bull market. Binance is currently by far the leading exchange, especially after they bought CMC a while ago. These lucky people who bought $BNB for less than a dollar in 2017 or for less than five dollar last year. These were golden opportunities, but I am confident that Binance will be able to maintain their position when it comes to exchanges and that $BNB is a decent investment for long term.
