Re: The Role of Nigerian Universities: Should Bitcoin Be Taught in School Curriculum
by
JoyceBTC
on 07/09/2025, 23:19:27 UTC
It’s not a bad idea if universities choose to incorporate the study of Bitcoin into their curriculum but I’m not sure it’s really necessary to be taught in the university since one can still learn it outside the university or by even making research. Even without going to the university one can still have the knowledge of bitcoin and invest.

Most students won’t really pick interest in it though if they want to make it a general course for everybody. E.g having a law student study bitcoin as a course. The student won’t pick interest and may still not gain the knowledge about it cause it’s not in line with his or her course of study.
Even the lectures in schools today are more of elderly people and I’m not sure they are knowledgeable enough about bitcoin to be able to transfer that knowledge to students

Re: Things you need to know before investing in Bitcoin
by

on 07/09/2025, 19:59:10 UTC
First thing you actually need before investing in Bitcoin is knowledge, you can have the money and still end up doing the wrong thing which might cost you your capital...Take out some time to work on learning about that crypto market so that you would be able to identify things that are fraudulent so you don't fall for a Bitcoin scam...patience is key and without it you might not benefit much from it
Thank you very much for this point you just made, cause it will be helpful to some of us here that are new to the bitcoin world. The OP made mention of having money and patience, that’s a good one but without the crypto knowledge it will definitely be hard to strive through.

Same thing applies to when you want to get a product without having knowledge of how to use the product even when you have the money. You can buy the product and end up regretting why you bought it because you don’t know how it’s properly used or the product might tend not to last for the period it’s supposed to because it’s been misused.

So making research is necessary before investment.

Re: Who is responsible for a fallen economy?
by
JoyceBTC
on 07/09/2025, 13:49:03 UTC
When the economy of a country has fallen, the economic situation of the country is against the wish of the citizens, leading to so many anomalies in the country. Fallen economy can lead to economic instability causing hardship in the country, it can lead the citizens to engage into committing series of crime as a way out for survival.
So what can you say concerning this fallen economy, is it caused by the citizens or the government?
Use the button below the thread to move the topic to Politics & Society or wait for Admin if you can't.

Who else if not the government. The most blame should be the government because we as citizens contribute by paying tax, unfortunate for us we don't see the benefits of paying those taxes.

Government are also in charge of controlling national resource, with billions of dollars in trade every day yet we are still rated among developing countries/under developed.

Being in power is now for personal benefits, until they are done filling their pockets for the whole tenure, nothing else matters.
We know the government is responsible but we are also to be blamed. Cause tell me why after we pass through all this hardship and bad government, during the next election because of little bribe, ethnicity and relationships, we still go ahead and vote for this same leaders we complained about their bad government. In the future we expect the economy to be a good one. It cannot, because we are also the cause of our problems.

It high time we realize that our wrong choices will not just affect us but also affect our children in the future. Same way the government is corrupt, is same way we have allowed corruption overwhelm us and at the end we only blame the government.

The Government is also to be blamed because most citizens vote this leaders base on their words during their campaign, thinking when they come on board the economy will become better but at the end they keep breaking their promises, making we citizens suffer

Re: Education before and Education now
by
JoyceBTC

I think the reason is because most of the youths in our country believes that our educational system has failed us, and if you look at it very well, you will notice that there is truth in that, i mean i see no reason why a naija youth would spend years in school, make first class and good grades, only to graduate and get fucked up by the labour market. no job opportunities for the youths, even the ones wey manage see job, na peanut them go pay them, seeing all these thing, do you think youths will be enthusiastic about attending lectures or making first class? back then in the 80s as you mentioned, people who graduate with good grades often get the opportunities to do their masters abroad, where we all know that they can potentially be exposed to a much better life and opportunities, some even end up being retained there and many other things, but today, there is absolutely nothing like that, nothing to drive students to work harder and push pass their limits, they feel like the system isn't worth the effort and honestly, i dont blame for thinking that way.
It is definitely true that the reason is because our educational system has failed us, with valid points you made mention. To add to what you said, our educational system before had discipline but now there is definitely no discipline compared to then. In our educational system before, teachers pay attentiveness to students but now they are nonchalant especially in our public schools, most of the teachers don’t go to class, they don’t care if the students are following up or not, they don’t care if they cover the curriculum or not, making students lack behind and dull.

There is actually no value for our certificate now, that’s why most persons prefer acquiring a skill that will earn them a living than going to school and at the end nothing.

School fees is increasing everyday including the public schools that were even free before for persons that could not afford going to private schools but now most people can’t afford school fees in public schools and the government is doing nothing about this. Nothing to motivate them in going to school anymore because of bad educational system.

Re: Why so much excuse instead of investing.
by
JoyceBTC
on 06/09/2025, 11:56:26 UTC
Reasons why it like as if most people keep procrastinating or making excuses instead of investing in bitcoin is because they don’t really have the basic knowledge of what bitcoin is all about. They might just be hearing bitcoin Bitcoin from the crowd and wouldn’t want to invest their money because they feel maybe it’s like a Ponzi scheme or a even a scam since it has to do with online. A layman will actually think that cause they are scared of losing their money thinking if they invest their money is gone.

Another reason is because most people don’t actually like the long term investment, they want something that if they invest in, will start giving them profit immediately. They don’t have that patience to hold Bitcoin for years to start making profit.

Lastly, reason for much excuse instead of investing is because of no extra cash for investment. The little cash they earn is even hardly enough for feeding and also providing for oneself, so with that taught alone even though you want to invest, it wouldn’t be possible.

Re: We need solutions.

solutions that allow shop owners to accept Bitcoin and auto-convert to naira instantly to avoid volatility.

I don't see a reason for business owners to avoid volatility by converting their bitcoin to naira or stablecoin, because we can still earn more from what we are holding if the market rises the more and be in profit, while if the market dumps we may lose, but that is not always permanent because it often rises back and we can from this volatility be selling and buying and go into partial trade converting from Bitcoin to stablecoin and buying again, but it's not a perfect idea that we should convert to naira because of currency devaluation and inflation affecting the fiat economy.
I don’t totally agree with you Mr Nathrixxx because the original post used a shop owner as a case study of how solutions can be provided so as to allow shop owners accept bitcoin.
In your quote, you said you don’t agree with the idea of business owners converting bitcoin to naira or stable coins to avoid volatility. So what do you expect a business owner to do when goods are been purchased from him in Bitcoin worth 1 million naira and when he wants to restock he founds out that the price of bitcoin has dipped, do you expect the business owner to start waiting until the price of bitcoin increases? That is not possible.

So I believe solutions should be created to avoid volatility in Bitcoin for business owners. It would be a great idea if payment are received in bitcoin and then converted to stable coin.

Re: Land and Bitcoin which is more profitable to go into as a Nigerian.
by
JoyceBTC
on 05/09/2025, 18:15:22 UTC
To me, the both of them are good asset for investment. In the sense that if you invest in land, when the land appreciates you can sell some portions and make good profits. Also bitcoin is a modern asset for investment and a digital one for that matter that is also doing very well in the asset class, it appreciates over time making it very good for investment.
Therefore, I won’t advise people against investing on land but invest more on bitcoin. since they are both good assets you can diversify on both of them, someone who has a large piece of land can sell some portions to invest on Bitcoin and when they make profit after holding for long term, they can sell some portions of the Bitcoin to buy another piece of land or lands.

Re: What Will Become The Future Of Bitcoin ?
by
JoyceBTC
on 05/09/2025, 17:52:21 UTC
You are asking people that have been asking same question without getting the right answer themselves, the only way for everyone to know what will happen to bitcoin is when the remaining bitcoin has been fully mined. Anything you are seeing now are just mare speculation and nothing specific. Although many people believe that miners will be making their money from transaction charges, but we will only know about this after the entire bitcoin has been mined. But personally I believe that there will be a way for miners to get compensated when the entire bitcoin has been mined. So let's not get ourselves worked up over what will happen to bitcoin, because I know for sure that bitcoin will be here forever.
I believe say after miners done mine the last Bitcoin finish, the next thing be say the scarcity of Bitcoin go make  the worth of bitcoin big. E.G: As we know say when product no dey for market again the price dey always hype (increase) well well. And with the way people dey adopt Bitcoin everyday if for the future miners done mine the last Bitcoin those wey hold their Bitcoin go get big profit if them won sell because that time the worth of bitcoin go too big pass today own. This limited supply way Bitcoin get na be the reason why many investors chose to hold onto their Bitcoin becuz them know say that time go reach and the value go increase.
I understand you very much brother, cause when product gets scarce the price tends to increase for sure. You made mention of how many investors hold bitcoin so as to be able to sell when bitcoin is no longer available for mining again. But with all the few suggestions/ answers that has been brought up here, I believe all the Bitcoin will be mined in 2140 which is about 100 plus years from now, and you said in your quote that investors know of how scarce Bitcoin will be by then that’s why they decided to hold their Bitcoin cause of that time. But the truth is that there is every possibility we will no longer be alive by then.

Since we would no longer be alive by then, why are we holding it?

Re: Invest in bitcoin or save your money in the bank.
by
JoyceBTC
on 04/09/2025, 16:05:07 UTC
To be honest, to me I prefer investing in Bitcoin than bank despite bank has its on advantages. Bitcoin does not need any central authority or government authority like the banks, you have control over your own Bitcoin account.

Most banks will not allow you withdraw everything in your account but in bitcoin you can.
Investing money in bank comes with so many issues, because most times when you make a transaction and the transaction declines, one will still get debited and then the whole reversal process becomes a stress. Either you will be going to the bank everyday until your money gets reversed or you will be given a particular period of days for reversal and even when the period is due, the money won’t be reversed until so many stress. Some banks won’t even refund your money, if you don’t make a complain after knowing it was due to their network glitch that you were debited.
So that’s why to avoid the whole bank wahala, I rather invest my money in Bitcoin.

What Will Become The Future Of Bitcoin ?
by
JoyceBTC
on 03/09/2025, 10:10:35 UTC
⭐ Merited by Princess Leah (1)
Due to my research, I discovered that we have about 21 million BTC. 19.9 million BTC has already been mined, remaining 1.1 million BTC.
So, I want to know what will happen when the remaining 1.1 million BTC get mined.
Is it that there would be no bitcoin again for people to mine afterwards?
What will become of the future of bitcoin when the total 21 million BTC is completely mined?

Good day everyone, I recently joined the forum and I'm still trying to understand so many things. I have been reading Lauda's introductory messages to newbies and I see that there are so many things I need to learn like how I shouldn't trust people and give out my details to anyone.

Please I still need guidelines to help me in my journey to have knowledge about Bitcoin, thanks everyone.
Check out the links attached on this above post. Also reminder that forums has rules and regulation on users upon reading those make sure to follow it. Most forgot those rules thats why they set up on a wrong start but if you followed them then theres no problem at all.

Theres different section for you to learn anything about bitcoin and other stuff. But surely youll discover that eventually. Welcome to forum.

Thank you so much. I will be doing that and I promise to follow the rules.
