Re: Are We Being Fucked? The centralization of Bitcoin
by

Mining bitcoin can be centralized but that does not mean that bitcoin is getting centralized, this one issue with mining bitcoin is the regulation challenges from government since they can present themselves decentralized since they majors their energy source from government supply, if they mine bitcoin doesn't change the fact that it's decentralized since everything occuring is within the blockchain network, the only way you can have your bitcoin centralized is now depending on the source you're acquiring it through and of course the kind of wallet you used, miners have physical location to get them been identified for that purpose and this makes them centralized and not the bitcoin, just as every whales out there will think loud of much accumulation of bitcoin because they have the capacity to do so but that doesn't change anything to bitcoin been centralized.
Yes, Bitcoin is great because of decentralization, because centralization is the gene that is controlled, and many loopholes in the platform are caused by centralization, and people cannot overcome their own selfish desires.

well at the end of the day, it's definitely depends in the team themselves, there might be some coins that only suited for long term holding that is the majority of meme coins and the others might be some trending coins.
But if you could somehow find some promising project it could turns out to be massive returns after long term holding but of course these are very rare, surely coins like matic and solana which could scores this tremendous amount of valuation nowadays begins as a new coins that being underestimated, but they could make themselves famous.
Yes, the team is very important, and the economic model of the project is even more important. Times create heroes, and projects that get opportunities must follow the trend.
But there are a lot of liars with luxurious packaging, and it is necessary to study carefully whether there are any flaws in all aspects of them.

I have made a lot of mistakes, I was dazzled by desire, I kept buying in the bull market, and increased leverage, resulting in a serious shrinkage of funds, but there were also gains. After experiencing all this, I became mature, started to learn, and improved my consciousness. Know.

Re: Nobel prize for Satoshi.
by

[...]
Nobel is missing something in their awards, technology. Peace is really impossible. It will fall into the economy category, although even at the current stage, bitcoin is not yet at the level wherein it influences certain nations' economies. If El Salvador somehow continues to buy at dips and then one day a single bitcoin reaches a million dollars in price, the bitcoin founder will qualify for the Nobel nominations. Anyways, posthumous is not possible for the Nobel.
Indeed, Nobel does miss a lot of categories. And more importantly, they are not a truely independant prize-award.
What I am looking forward more than any prizes is the time, when the Bitcoin whitepaper will make it into economics schoolbooks all around the globe. My guess is this will happen in around 5 -10 years.
I think it is possible, and I am very supportive of it being included in textbooks, and at least some graduate courses in universities can include white papers.
Satoshi Nakamoto should not have appeared at this stage, I am worried that he is in danger.

Satoshi deserve Nobel Prize, even after a decade no one is able to find the identity. Even if the organisers and jury take this into consideration the prize won't be received by the respective person. Each and every member of the forum will have the same thought and wish he gets Nobel Prize.

For now we can't do anything more to get him Nobel Prize. For now we can add a Nobel Prize badge to his Bitcointalk account through which he made his discussions. Maybe in future if the identity gets revealed, community can work for the real Nobel Prize.
What if no one comes to accept the award? I actually don’t really want to know who he is in my lifetime? I hope he lives in our imagination, in which he can take countless forms. The energy is endless.

Re: Elon Musk says the price of BTC will rise
by

Elon has also been pretty vocal that he thinks we're headed into a dangerous recession.  I think the yield curve would tend to agree with him.  Crypto is going to have a difficult time over the next year as the Fed realizes that it's going to cause an economic collapse if it doesn't pivot and begin lowering rates.  We've seen this all play out before.  I think the Fed is hoping that inflation keeps assets high enough that we avoid cascading liquidations among the big firms, which would be the difference between now and 2008, but the Fed rarely ever gets it right.  Cash will be King shortly I feel, but once this recession is digested I think we're all hoping for another bull run.
Yep, just like he didn't realize that BTC very much follows the stock markets. I think he is confused it with gold as that's the one that has negative correlation against stock market. But then again he talks what ever his fanbois want to hear so that he can enjoy the spotlight so he could be just out right lying.

Yes, he said what people most wanted to hear. Whether it's true or not doesn't matter, no one even knows if it's true or not. This is the result of market games. It’s not something that can be decided by one person. If all the crypto big Vs say that the bull market is about to start, then the bull market will really start.

This is really tormenting, who will be next? I'm really worried, it's been down for a year, I think this wave will wipe out the centralized exchanges. If the center is dead, the bear market will end .

SBF's counterattack is also reasonable, it needs more control, this is human nature, when CZ's own bnb also has a lot of bad things, anyway, all the actions are to give him more right to speak.

Re: The Impact of Ukrain Bitcoin Donation and Support.
by

Sadly, it will be a series of crisis that humanity is to experience that can put Bitcoin into the mainstream as a currency and a safe haven. Under any circumstances, Bitcoin is beyond the reach of any government or legacy financial institution. No government can declare Bitcoin to be under the control of the government...they could not devalue it by decree or can they confiscate away from you just like what some governments did to bank accounts of their own people. And we can clearly see the many reasons why Bitcoin is a lot better than fiat during chaotic times.

Yes, I just saw that Germany confiscated the yacht of a rich Russian businessman worth 600 million US dollars. I was shocked. Is Russia being robbed? If the asset is not the yacht but Bitcoin, will the result be different?

Re: The Impact of Ukrain Bitcoin Donation and Support.

The question here is, what do we call support? It could be food, water, transportation to a safe zone, and weapons to defend their country.

It would be nice to know where are all those donations going because I feel a big piece of cake is used for fighting equipment, and since bitcoin and cryptos are involved in this we can call it the first Crypto-War.
If it is donated to the Ukrainian government, there are many possibilities. It may buy food for civilians or arms, and it may become the private property of some people. Since it has been donated, we have no ability to interfere with the whereabouts of the funds. . But if they use the money to buy arms, I'm sad because I'm calling for peace, which means that my donation is another way of supporting war, and obviously I don't want war.
