Re: Where does the $$$$ GO on KYC failure

hahah that is a funny question, obviously it goes to the pocket of the casino?? But! Due to forum pressure, protecting public image, etc etc
a lot of casinos would eventually let the user get that money regardless. But, if the wrong doing of the user is severe, the casino is keeping that money,
maybe in good gesture they might reimburse the initial deposit, but not guaranteed!
The money will be in the casino especially if that is a scam casino. They will not let their members get their money and will not give an answer to their questions. Maybe the casino hold the fund because casino found something suspicious with their members. So they need to check everything before they process the next thing. But if that a good casino, they will let their members get their money after the checking finish.

That is why you need to research before you choose the casino. That will help you to stay away from a scam casino.

You are absolutely right, there is too many scam casinos out there which people sign up for without doing any research on them before doing so!
What a big mistake! Thankfully, a lot of people can view forums like this one and then see ratings of good, reputable sportsbooks that wont do scams to users.
People must be educated on good sportsbooks.

And who are these reputable casinos?

I don't know if it's true or not what the site says, but
1 these tracking methods are illegal and punishable.only the regulator in the event of fraud such as theft of funds from the account can monitor the account in the system
2 The site imposes a personal limit, which is again illegal and confirmed by numerous court decisions.
Of course, making such requirements for offshore sites is pointless. The gambling mafia is still very strong everywhere.

In principle, such a rule is not only deceptive but also illegal. The regulator should impose a fine. At the very least, this is discrimination. There is no way for the site to determine how many people from a family or IP address can register = complete absurdity

"You've heard them talk about advantage players. The translation for that is good player, good bettor, smart player," gambling journalist Jeff Edelstein said during the meeting. "They're saying, 'We don't want smart players. We don't want good players because we see them as a threat.'

OP if you create a flag, using the example by nutildah, it will really hurt them big since it'll be highlighted in their ANN thread. It could force their hand.

I think i already did.
Could you tell me if i did well?

Ah, indeed you did, and yes, you chose the most lenient type of flag, which is a good choice. I have supported flag.

Moving away from the allegation of arbitrage betting, "value betting" in itself shouldn't be a reason to confiscate winnings. Ideally, a sportsbook makes money from the spread in odds, meaning that if they have enough bettors on both sides of a bet, they will profit regardless of the outcome of the game/match. Perhaps because they are a relatively new book, they don't have enough action for this to happen. But that's hardly your fault.

As has been said a few times already, the appropriate thing to do (if they wanted to discourage value betting while maintaining the integrity of their book) would be to pay out the winnings and then limit the amount you can bet next time, or even ban your account from making future bets. The winnings are relatively small, so the fact that they aren't paying them out isn't very confidence-inspiring.

You are right, but I have a question, why don't players choose a casino that allows VALUE BETTING to arbitrage? I know that several casinos allow it. Isn't all this avoidable? Because I think xyes will not return the money to this user.

This is not a concert of wills/ numerous court decisions show that the bookmaker cannot impose personal limits and close the account. This was also stated by some regulators. Now a similar discussion is taking place in the USA and all limited accounts are being checked.

btw, Yes, you did valuebetting. Valuebetting is betting over any other odd, so most probably you catched odds over other bookmakers.
Well it wasn't on purpose. I am down $23,000 on betfury in 2025 but was unable to play there anymore since they banned swedish players
I swapped to xyes as they used the same layout
they don't use the same layout, they use the same provider for their sportsbook, and that's betby.
and betby is a soft bookie, so they have a lot of complaints for flaging players for "value betting", but betby isn't the one who took your money, as it's up to the casino to decide how to deal with thier users after they been flaged.

and let's say you did value betting, the right thing xyes should have done imo, is to void those bets and refund your deposit.
they shouldn’t void winnings. People have to stop playing at these books that don’t pay winnings on value bets. Pay all winnings, then ban or limit.

No one except XYes says no value playing in their ToS.

From a legal point of view, they have no right to limit it or close the account = these are normal bets. For example, in Spain, users sue them for limit or account closure and get their accounts restored. In some countries, the regulator imposes such rules. My colleague is from Sweden. I think the bookmaker there also does not have the right to impose a personal limit.

But it's okay, they promote Champions league offers atleast Smiley

Very useful aren't they.
Lol! Valid points. They are flying high these days since they are the most popular betting broker out there which is why they are ignoring a lot of our criticism since they are unfortunately in the position to do so.

Also, Orbit exchange doesn't belong to them though and the rising issues related to it prompted them to give up on it and switch to sharp exchange which is their in house exchange.

Colleague, if you are not aware, the frauds committed by Sharp are many times greater than those of  Orbit

Criminals. If they had a license in any normal country, a fine would follow and then the license would be revoked. So if you look at the court decisions, even technical errors like 101 being written instead of 1.01 are condemned in favor of the users. These are for prison. Filthy scum.

What I’ll do next:

First, I’ll file a complaint with Curaçao eGaming. Of course, they probably won’t do anything, but I can also report the case to the Dutch Gambling Authority. Curaçao is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. We’ll see if they respond to that.

I will report the case to the European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net). From what I’ve found out, Sportsbet.io does not hold gambling licenses in EU countries and is violating general EU consumer protection laws (e.g., lack of transparency, deceptive practices).

I can also report the case to the European Commission and OLAF – the European Anti-Fraud Office.

I will also start contacting all the people who had issues with Sportsbet.io, there are hundreds of such cases online, which forms a strong basis to escalate the matter to Europol.

Let’s see if their actions will really pay off.

Well done, just like that. Fight these criminals.
