The biggest lesson we get from sports is sports men spirit. 
Lol one of the funniest thing i ever heard when discussion is about indo-pak. I know You guys are dumb enough to claim pseudo secularists crown but how can you forget the main argument which revolves around only Jihad. For some legendary sports men winning against India is Jihad and it's a victory of Muslims over kafirs. Waqar Younis and Shoiab Akthar are finest examples you guys should hear their commentary when Pakistan won in WC. It's a jihadist disease even in my country this is spreading very fast. ~~~

Nowadays people don't care spending a few thousand rupees to watch quality stuff. Disney-Star paid $250 million per year last time, and that was in 2014. 8 years have passed and I would expect the rates to go up by 3x-4x, given the rapid growth in Indian consumer wealth. My conclusion is that Disney-Star paid a fair amount, while Sony and Reliance under-estimated the bid.

for the latter, I guess it would make sense when all numbers are out from the ICC officials in DEC. IMO other competitors didn't actually underestimated anything, they just wanted an e-auction and Disney was desperate to get some content for Hotstar for obvious reasons.
Until a couple of years back, Hotstar was ahead in Sports OTT market by a huge margin. Now they are facing stiff competition (not just from Sony LIV, but also from minor competitors such as Fancode). Platforms such as Sony Liv do have higher quality and variety compared to Hotstar. And in the next 4-5 years I am sure that OTT will grow much bigger than the cable TV segment (especially for Sports), and Hotstar wants to cling on to the market share at any cost. And given the huge premium they paid for the Indian subcontinent, I won't be surprised if rest of the world goes for more than $1 billion.
Let me put it this way, why i think they overpaid (not saying that they can't make money, just focusing on overpaid issue)
- Do you think that casual or even hardcore cricket fans watch every match in the ICC tournament? 99.99% would say no because fans love to watch their respective team (sometimes they even miss the action) and marquee, knockout encounters like Semifinals/ Finals.
-There are total of 179 matches in 4 ICC tournaments and India is playing 26 matches in 4 ICC tournaments then we have additional 8 semifinals and 4 finals (knockouts).
- From the broadcaster's point of view if they are targeting the Indian market only, then they have only 26 (Ind) + 8(Semis) + 4(finals) = 38 Important matches out of 179 in the ICC tournaments.
- If we look at important matches only (38) then according to $3.02 Billion bid it every match is worth close to $80 Million.
- And if we are looking at every ICC match which is 179 then every game is worth approx $16.8 Million. Point to note that 1 IPL match worth is $13-ish million, that's a recent benchmark.
Remember 179 - 38 = 141 non India/ non knockouts.
Now tell me which broadcaster will pay close to $17 million bucks for Aus vs SL, Pak vs SL, SA vs BAN or even Eng vs Aus for Indian or any market?
Any idea of how many more test matches they (pakistan) have to win in order to be in the top 2 of the international test championship?
If my memory serves me well then they have 6 more tests in this WTC cycle1 Against SL
3 against Eng
2 against NZ
- Winning all of em would be amazing but it's tough for any team even in home conditions.
- They need at least 68-ish points to secure their seat and have to win 4 tests +1 draw and they can afford only 1 loss. They should also hope that India and SA are not winning their all remaning match (especially India) as they are playing against 2 matches against Bangladesh at away series and 4 against Aus at home (this is very tough nut to crack for India).
Pakistan should try to clean sweep SL, it would be very helpful for them.

BCCI is independent entity, ICC doesn't allow government interference in cricket not even indirectly. Zimbabwe board faced a ban because of this. Banning Pakistani players from the IPL wasn't Gov's decision but BCCI and franchise, especially franchise considering BCCI allowed Pakistani players to put their names at the auction but after 26/11 terrorist attack, every franchise boycotted them for the right reasons.
I pardon to differ here, no cricket board is independent entity. Every board is controlled and monitored by government bodies. So its not true to say that BCCI is independent entity. India is not playing with Pakistan even before 26/11 attack, if you see current government stance they have zero tolerance towards Pakistan. IPL franchise and BCCI not allowing Pakistan is just because of Indian government pressure. Franchises will love to involve Pakistani players as they have world class T20 players.

Like other poster mentioned volatile market is big concern so choose any top 10 Alt from CMC with caution and you are good to go. Eth is top choice but if you really want safe bet then choose BTC over any Alt coins. make sure you are not buying someone else bags. 
England has come back strongly and so is SL as well as in their previous matches they had won where England chase 350+ in one day match against the WI and SL had won against SA fro a tough situation where their loss was sure. If such matches continue to take place anybody could win the matches on that particular day.
I partially agree with you here. England seems like a strong contender to lift the cup along with India in my opinion just like many others, but their key players need to retain their form no matter what.
On the other hand, I don't see Sri Lanka lifting the cup just because they are doing well recently since their team basically is not as great as their past teams. They don't have Murali, Vaas and a Sanga to guide them all the way.

May be 2nd round? I do not see them will do better than this. English condition is cold for them. In the very recent time Bangladesh is not performing well. If you see their NZ tour then it's clear. Bangladesh team has some good players but recently I have seen they have problems with their top order batsmen.
Though the current form of BD is not very good but they are dangerous for amy team in the world.In NZ tour thier key player Sakib is injured so that is a blow for them.I think BD will start thier world cup with fresh and made an Impact on WC2019.
West Indies managed to score a whooping 360 runs which I thought would be tough to chase it down but as of now, England seem to be on track with 254/2 in 33.2 overs. About 7 runs per over needed to win, but with 8 wickets in hand..if anyone of Morgan or Root stick around until the end, it should be an easy task.
Yeah I thought that 360 would be tough to chase but England are doing a great job right now batting and if they can keep it to just 2 wickets down by the 40th over then I think they have a big chance at winning. Root will be the key to England winning this as he is a very good player at keeping it together in tough situations.
England has won this match in 48.4 overs by losing only four wickets. It looks like the pitch was supporting for batting so both teams have produced so many runs on this pitch. On this kind of pitches only good fielding and disciplined bowling can put pressure on batting side otherwise the team chasing can win the match. WI team didn't bowl well to defend such a huge total.
What a chase done by England against the WI and making 364/4 in just 48.4 overs only. It was looking difficult to chase such a huge score but the way England has played really would uplift their confidence. Jason was named Player of the match.

England : Still have some reservation on All rounder -wicket-keeper batsman.
Australia : Image is not clear atm due to Warner-Smith duo
South Africa: Even they are not sure about their 15 member squad.
New Zealand : Not much drastic change or any surprise here, a more or less same squad who played against India
Pakistan : Rab Janne (God knows) if they can put politics aside for a small period of time then they are all set.

My favorite team for World cup is England because this team looks very balanced to me. they bat deep, got a couple of good allrounders and playing in their backyard. those days are gone when the host team used to lose in every world cup.
Other than the Eng team, India is doing pretty good if they manage to get their combination right for playing X1 they no one can stop this team.
I would not be very surprised if India and England playing finals against each other.
Australia is the underdog in this World cup or to some extent Afganistan too. this team can surprise any team in their day, they showed the determination in Asia cup.
Newzealand and Proteas are good teams too but they don't give much confidence as a team.
Personally, I would like to see Ind vs Pak in the world cup final. if it happens then everyone can imagine the excitement in the cricketing World and for sure lockdown in both countries during the match.

I miss those great players SL had too . Jayasurya , Jayawardhana , Sangakkara , Dilshan and so on . The bowling unit too had some very good players . I feel that the biggest mistake SL did was all the experienced players retired at the same time . Look at how Dhoni is impacting the Indian team now , that was what is required in SL team now.
Chaminda Vaas and Muttiah Muralitharan were the best in bowling unit. rest are forgotten. without new crop it is not possible to sustain anything. i think srilankan crowd too not very interested in cricket now.
Suddenly this Australian team looking like old team. scoring 4.5 runs per over tell the story that they are dominating. that would be nice if they can win by inning after scoring big pile of runs. inning win always gives boost to morale.
The Venue "Manuka Oval" was always a batting pitch, the average batting 1st score is 310 for ODI. That is huge and the percentage of winning batting first is almost 80%. Although this is a test match, Srilanka will be in trouble batting on their 1st innings and it's most likely that the nest 3 innings will be low scored.Agreed but still players need to stay on the crease to bat longer. Srilanka is doing bad but again still opposition team has to bat well and bowl against them. full credit to Australian batsmen here.

Looking at the pitch report it is doable. However in cricket anything can happen. I am just hopping to see a good test match not one sided boring test.
Its strange that PCB official change captain as per series. article says that sarfraz's tenure as a captain was about to finish or something like this. how can management except consistency with team if they change captain every year.
