08 Sept 2014: X3 Power supply recall

There have been reports that some X3s are failing. We have located this problem to be caused by the power supply.
Please note that this power supply is not manufactured by Black Arrow and has been purchased from a company in Shenzhen which sold it to us as CE certified.

After thorough investigations the power supply company has reached the conclusion that there are 3 major issues in this PSU and any PSU can fail at any time and it not safe to use. They have currently fixed the issues and are currently testing them.

Please stop using all X3s immediately!

We are recalling the X3 power supplies. Please do not ship your X3 unit or X3 Power supply back to us right now. We will contact the X3 customers later this week with more instructions on how to arrange shipping. If you have an X3 and have not received an email from us this week please contact our customer support immediately.

So now its the PSU? What did BA say the cause was before, caps? Starting to think BA really don't know what's causing the FIRE. If had an X3 or one on the way there would be no way in hell I would plug it in and run it.

Right now there is a player in the 66 freeroll with 10 accounts. afk, IAFK, oafk, pafk, qafk, rafk, tafk, uafk, wafk and yafk. If all those accounts are not the same person I will eat my hat! Pretty sad this kind off shit is happening on Seals, along with everything else. I guess that's why they call it the wild west of poker.

Yeah, actually. I wasn't trying to attack you. It just seemed strange to declare a piece of hardware unprofitable when it is really only a unique (and very shitty) situation that caused it to no longer be viable. Sorry to hear about your power company. Hopefully you can find some co-location or sell it to someone in an area where power is more affordable.

It's all good. And yes it is a shitty situation.

Ok... so what are you paying for electricity?

Mining is barely profitable for me here in the states paying $0.17 per kwh. If you are paying more than that for power IDK why you'd even attempt to mine. Unless you are paying more than $0.32 you are still breaking even. Factor in speculation that the $/BTC increases, the TerraMiner is still profitable for now.

Do you really need to know the whole story? Ok well listen. When I started out mining my electric rates were $0.19 per kw. After I added the Terraminers in March my electric usage went up considerably and every month my electric company threatened to raise my rates. Well they finally did it last month. They raised it to $0.34 kw. Happy now?

I think you need to check you math.
1.6Ths @ Diff of 23B is still 0.034BTC per day, about $16.50
2200W costs $9.00 per dat at 0.17 $/kwh.

You're still making $7.50 a day.

How can you come on here and tell me to check my math? Do you know where I'm located and how much I pay for electricity? I didn't think so.

This is typical behavior from these people from what I've seen.  Where is Dogie with that ethics rating which still sits at 5/10 while all of this is going on.

Still waiting for his free miner maybe?

Redcution in the rakeback really wouldn't be felt as heavily as the krillrolls being reduced and frequency of them running being reduced,  as players get almost nothing to 10k krill in rakeback  and 10 percent rakeback from 10k krill to 50k krill.  People at 100k krill would feel reductions perhaps.  Live and learn though is the lesson I am taking away here. I have been on the site for one and a half years pretty sure I know how the site works.  The krillroll business  is really a punch in the gut no matter how long the pissing contest will be or how much  sugar coating  ensues . I think if you wanted to you would see how the players feel they are getting screwed as I have explained it previously,  but the blinders aren't permitting you. I am not looking at things in the right perspective is the answer I have received maybe its time to up the dosage in the koolaid.

Seals has to make cuts because the site is not growing. And to be honest, its not going to grow. Why? The software. The software they are using is for PLAY money. It was not meant to be used for REAL money and or Bitcoin. I mean the software cost what, $600? You don't get much for $600 and it shows. The RNG is a total joke. What are the odds of seeing constant quads, straights, flush and trips? Well on Seals its every game. On multiple occasions I have see quads 3-4 times at a table within minutes. Random? I think not. Now if they would ditch this software for better software they would have a better site and bring in more traffic I think.

So even one person at BA seems to have a lot of time for reading and deleting posts. So perhaps this one has a few minutes to tell us how many X1s are 15-20% and how long it will last to send out the next 80-85%.
And why do their reseller's customers get their miners ordered in April before their own customers who ordered in November last year. Why should I have preordered a batch 1 miner early if I have disadvantages against later purchasers?

We're sorry but the person you are trying to reach right now is not available (busy deleting posts). Please try back again later.

1)  Donk4u (and others)  please note right now the krill rewards system is subject to change at any time.  It says so in the FAQ, and please understand that I have no interest in "tricking" players to grind for some prize that will be taken away.  I ask you to simply understand that krillrolls are a bonus rewards system on top of the rakeback you earn by massing krill.  There is no collection outside of normal rake for this, it is coins given back by SwC at our whim.  I would not design any grand plans around it, simply take it when given.  I will never understand the constant spew of hate towards me or SwC for altering them as we see fit.

2)  the BIG BTC is about to pop off in about an hour!  the biggest bitcoin poker tournament each week, 10 coin guarantee and .25 buy in!  (10k SwC chips guaranteed / 250 SwC chips buy in)  I'm already #Pool'ed for it, glglglglgl guys

Is there a way to fix or change the Mickey Mouse RNG on this site? It is a total joke!!!

I decided to send another request to support through the cointerra website asking specifically what the D45 RED LED means and how can I fix it. This is the reply I got. What a fucking bitch and Fuck CoinTerra  Angry

Hi ,

We are not currently releasing that information.

Best regards,

Laura
CoinTerra Support Team

I got pretty much the same response from Marshall when I was having overheating issues. I sent him an email asking which core was which so I could narrow down the ones that were getting hot and he told me he could not comment on that. Cointerra will not help their customers in any way.

Dear Customers,

We apologize for the lack of updates during the last few weeks; We have been very busy working with the factories to get your long awaited miner.

As you well know we have been shipping X1s for almost a month. In the last few days we began shipping X3s alongside X1s. We still have days until we finish all the queue.

During the last week we have fixed few issues with our products:
 1. We found that Onsemi has given us wrong information regarding a controller; They have told us that NCP5392P is exactly the same as NCP5392E with only one pin difference (that we were not using). As they were in shortage of NCP5392P they sold us NCP5392E. However, after assembly we have found out that this controller fed wrong PWM to the mosfets shutting down the low side mosfet when it shouldn't. This resulted 5% of the mosfets burned and all miners were using 20-30% more power.
We are currently looking into how to correct the PWM of NCP5392E and will contact customers who have received boards with this controller in order to provide them with a fix. We have begun to rework thousands of boards in order to replace NCP5392E with NCP5392P.
 2. During transportation hashboards were able to exit their slot therefore we needed to find a solution to fix this.

For these reasons we were unable to enter mass production for X3 last week.

We are happy to report that we have overcome all obstacles and we are now shipping X3s as well.

Regarding this thread, we always welcome constructive feedback. However, as we finally went full throttle into shipping at least one competitor is trying to keep away customers from us: Individuals on this forum which are not even our customers (Eg. Pentax, DebitMe, and few others) are probably being paid to spend their full time here to flood this thread with misleading information. For this reason we have decided to delete such posts.

We will post pictures in few minutes.

Why would a competitor need to try and keep customers away from you? You are doing a DAMN GOOD job of that yourself.

well i got an email from MS saying that my order is in the next batch of X1's. i guess pigs will start flying soon.

Just curious, do you have a range about where your order number is?

bob, any idea when you will get to order 1549 out of curiosity??

Bobsag, Am I correct in thinking that lower order numbers were placed earlier than higher order numbers and therefore will also be in the next shipment?

Our order numbers have nothing to do with actual shipping order. Due to the numerous ecom platform changes and issues, we are shipping off a master paid-by date list, that has order numbers all over the place. For example, we have orders in the 12xx range that will ship before 9xx, etc etc.

Can you check your emails and get back to me please. Thanks.

Great. My Terraminer IV is falling apart. 1 core already died and am not sure how to fix it. I want to get some thermal paste and see if that fixes anything but I dare not touch it. The remaining 3 temps are getting higher slowly each day. I hope someone starts a class lawsuit action against them.

The core you have that's down was probably shut down do to it overheating. I have had two cores go down do to overheating. As for the other three slowly getting hotter, well, they are going to continue getting hotter. Replacing the thermal compound is the only way to fix this issue. It will most likely bring back the dead core if it was shut down do to overheating. The question is which one to use? The best thing to do is read through this thread to see what others have done and make your decision then which way to go.

For you guys that are thinking of trying Liquid Pro stop and think about this for a minute. When you go to spread Liquid Pro to the chips you will see it takes a little work to get it to cover the chip. Once you have a thin layer on the chips and you apply a little to the center you will see it flow across the chip. So what's going to happen if you don't apply it to the water block also? Its going to push the Liquid Pro off the sides of the chip instead of flowing between them like it should. You need to break the surface tension on both the chips and the water block by spreading just enough to cover each then putting a drop in the center of the chip before assembling it. Measure out where it needs to be if you can't see the outline of the chips on the bottom of the water block. Last thing you want is for the water block to push it somewhere its not supposed to be. Not sure where this applying it just to the chip came from. Liquid Pro is NOT like regular thermal paste it HAS to be spread!
