Por feminicidio agravado y desobediencia en medidas cautelares o de protección, en perjuicio de su compañera de vida, el Juzgado Especializado de Sentencia para una Vida Libre de Violencia y Discriminación para las Mujeres de San Salvador condenó a 53 años de cárcel a Juan Francisco Bermúdez Díaz.
Los hechos fueron cometidos en Apastepeque, departamento de San Vicente.
De acuerdo con la investigación de la Fiscalía, tras más de 25 años de convivencia marcados por violencia física, psicológica, emocional y verbal, la víctima acudió a los juzgados de San Vicente, donde en enero de 2024, le fueron otorgadas medidas de protección debido a la violencia intrafamiliar ejercida por el acusado. La mujer decidió alejarse de su agresor y se trasladó a otro departamento.
El 5 de febrero del mismo año, en horas de la noche, el acusado se presentó en el nuevo domicilio de la víctima en San Salvador y, por la fuerza, se llevó a uno de sus hijos. Al día siguiente, la mujer regresó a Apastepeque y, con el apoyo de las autoridades, logró recuperar al menor.
Luego el 7 de febrero, cuando se disponía a regresar a San Salvador, acompañada de su hijo, la víctima fue abordada por Bermúdez Díaz. Al negarse ella a dialogar, él sacó un arma blanca y la agredió provocándole múltiples heridas en el cuello, abdomen y extremidades. Aunque familiares intentaron auxiliarla y trasladarla a un hospital, la mujer falleció en el camino debido a la gravedad de las lesiones.
El juzgado determinó que el acusado, en abierta desobediencia y rebeldía ante la orden judicial de no acercarse a la víctima, actuó con hostigamiento al sustraer al menor de edad.
La prueba presentada acreditó el cometimiento del feminicidio agravado, por lo que el imputado fue condenado a 50 años de prisión por este delito, y a tres años adicionales por desobediencia en medidas cautelares o de protección.

El Salvador purchased eight additional bitcoins on Tuesday despite the International Monetary Fund (IMF) reiterating its push for the country to freeze government crypto acquisitions under the terms of a $1.4 billion loan deal.
The new bitcoin acquisition, announced by El Salvador’s Bitcoin Office, came shortly after IMF staff and El Salvadoran authorities reached a staff-level agreement on the first review of the 40-month Extended Fund Facility (EFF). The review, tied to economic reforms, praised El Salvador for meeting most targets and improving macroeconomic stability.
President Bukele, who has made Bitcoin central to his global image, has mocked suggestions that the policy would end.
Recent legal reforms stripped Bitcoin of mandatory legal tender status but retained it as an optional currency, satisfying IMF conditions while preserving Bukele's narrative.
Beyond the $1.4 billion IMF package, the broader agreement is expected to unlock another $2 billion in development bank financing and support El Salvador’s efforts to manage a public debt load that reached 85% of the country’s GDP last year.

H100 Becomes First Swedish Company with a Bitcoin Reserve.
H100 Group AB, a Swedish publicly listed health technology company, has made the headlines after investing in bitcoin as part of a new financial strategy.
The move has caused a stir in Sweden and beyond, with H100’s stock price rising 40% after the announcement.
The company has bought 4.39 bitcoin for 5 million Norwegian Krone (around $475,000–$492,000).
This is the company’s first foray into the digital asset space and makes H100 Group the first publicly-listed health tech company in Sweden to hold bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset.
The bitcoin was bought at an average price of 1,138,737 NOK (around $108,000) per coin.
