Re: Bitcoin withdrawal suspension saga: why self custody is the best
by
OcTradism
on 02/09/2025, 09:07:18 UTC
I really wouldn’t get it why people would prefer to use exchange addresses in receiving payments and not have to send it there themselves from a custodian alternative.
They either don't know about custodial wallet and non-custodial wallet, importance of private keys or they knew about these things but don't mind to follow recommended practice.

Quote
Perhaps it could be the fees but, I find that to be a very lame or dumb excuse. It doesn’t cost much on fees these days, it’s always ranged between 1-10sat/vByte and you would have your transactions processed really fast.
Convenience and saving in transaction fee are two main reasons. By using an account on a centralized exchange, its account's Bitcoin address for receiving signature campaign payment, they will not have to broadcast any on chain transaction and don't have to pay extra on chain transaction fee.

They have such a reason but if they know about risk of centralized exchanges, they would have different practice.

Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts.

I understand your point, but one thing you most understand is Manchester united performance seems quite unstable.
I did not write that Manchester United have stable performances.

Quote
However, other teams might have poor performance in the early stage but before you know it they would start picking up again, just like as you mentioned Chelsea because they were totally not in good condition at the early stage of last season, but just before the end they were able to achieved a top four position, which is quite impressive.
Again if you read my post rightly, you can understand it differently and comment differently too.

Chelsea recovery actually began two seasons ago with Pochettino, not only in the last season and my post implied about that. In the last season, there was weeks Chelsea had troubles but their recovery already started one season before that, and they already had good foundation for better recovery last season. This is not what Manchester United have in this season and they are working hard to achieve this.

Quote
But Manchester united was in poor performance from the beginning to the end, even though they have start again this new season and before you know it they might likely continue like this till the end of the season, which is very wrong at least they would have started the new season with more winning ways.
Rome wasn't built in one day and Manchester United must build up their squad and success season by season, and this season can be a start for this successful development but it actually began in second half of the past season when Ruben Amorim left Sporting Lisbon and joined them since winter transfer season.

Now I keep asking myself: what is Bitcoin’s “final boss”?
Bitcoin blockchain and network is decentralized and there is no such a decentralized final boss.

Quote
Is it scalability?
Don't let you obsessive about scalability, as Bitcoin Cash scam team took advantage of scalability demand and made their scam fork. Years later, with better scalability, their Bitcoin Cash blocks have never been filled and Bitcoin Cash blokchain has been used less than Bitcoin blockchain.

Is it regulatory pressure?
You can not stop it so let it be and don't mind about it. Fortunately, Bitcoin is decentralized so regulations can not kill Bitcoin.

Let's put it this way, Manchester United did manage to beat Burnley, but they did so in the 90th+7 minute, which suggests luck rather than confident skill. The team continues to play inconsistently, although they did manage to score three goals in their last game, but they also conceded two. There is still no confidence in betting on Manchester United to win, but it is also risky to bet against them, as they may suddenly start playing well Smiley Judging by the names, it cannot be said that Manchester United has a weak squad; on the contrary, they have quite capable players. All that remains is to work on their psychology.
Winning a match and getting three points are truly good, and surely better than a draw or a defeat. The late winning goal can remind us about Fergie era with Fergie times but I am only joking now, this Manchester United with Ruben Amorim have many things to do, work hard, improve in order to reach to a level of Fergie's Manchester United twenty or thirty years ago.

They won the match even in a hard way but they successfully reduced pressure and it can be good booster for their journey ahead in this long and very challenging season. Ruben Amorim will have time for continuing his mission in building up a Great Manchester United and it won't be easy for him.

As Entrepreneurs we get into various business transactions. And consideration must be considered. Having the characteristics of money especially paper money, what's stopping you from accepting Bitcoin for your business transactions?
It depends on your business size that if is big enough, would be more easily to accept bitcoins as your company won't have big issue with money flow and store bitcoins received from customers or business partners as your company treasury as well as fees in Bitcoin transactions later.

The Bitcoin mempools have been so better recent months and transaction fees on chain were much cheaper than in the past years so it opens more chance for accepting Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is very helpful for any company that consider using part of their business revenue as long term investment in Bitcoin.

There are more than one available wallet softwares for storing your bitcoins and Electrum is one of wallets.

Do you listen to influencers on things that concern gambling, I understand that we won't know much about gambling from day one but influencers are the worst people to listen to about things that concerns gambling, gambling has never been a get rich quick scheme, gambler has to majorly depend on luck before we can even talk about anaysis, analysis can also help a gambler to win but luck validates everything, am happy that you have learnt somethings about gambling.
What you have said so far is like a lesson learnt, am an advocate of gambling for fun and with what we can afford, if we win that will be nice but if we don't, no much feelings should be attached.
Knowing and understanding about gambling, trading or investment is important and it's good as foundation for your success but it is not enough to lead you to success. As you must have proper practice including financial management, gambling fund management and risk management in your gambling activities as well. You can not achieve success and profit in any area only by learning but lack of practice and very importantly proper practice.

Being knowledgeable, disciplined and responsible with everything we do, will help us to maximize our ability to manage our fund, control risk, and minimize probability of getting losses.

Re: Why no forks these days?
by
OcTradism
on 01/09/2025, 03:09:44 UTC
Who's to say another contentious fork will appear if Bitcoin gets congested again? A few years ago, the Ordinals hype caused network fees to rise towards "uncomfortable" levels. Many expressed their disagreement with it, raising the possibility of Bitcoin getting "forked" again. Bitcoin Knox could've turned into a new chain, if successful. The lead developer (Luke Dashjr) proposed censoring Ordinals inscriptions on-chain via the node software. Glad it didn't work out, otherwise, the community would've been going against Bitcoin's censorship-resistant ideals.
Bitcoin blockchain ideallys is no censorship (censorship-resistant) and if the proposal of Luke Dashjr was agreed and supported by Bitcoin community, it turns the blockchain to censor blockchain. Somewhat it is similar to attempts from MARA and F2Pool mining pools to censor Bitcoin transactions years ago and fortunately they failed.

Fifteen OFAC-sanctioned transactions missing from blocks.
Marathon says its mining pool will stop censoring transactions following bitcoin community outcry.

I don't know this feeling.

Ask Laszlo about it. Smiley
I believe that many people used bitcoins for something, selling it for something but feelings can be different if they sold their bitcoins many years ago for something when Bitcoin price was extremely cheaper than now. While if you sold your bitcoin two months ago, I don't see any feeling like regret about that action at all. Selling bitcoins for something two months ago don't make you lose like fortune by price changes during those months.

laszlo is not the only person who sold or exchanged bitcoins for something.

A devoted trader and someone who knows about how the bear market and bull function can never make same mistake, this is excluding knowing about technical
The thing is, if you keep making same mistakes for the past 5 years then I must you are not taking trading serious or it's not meant for you, meaning it would b more better you do investment than trading. Just imagine investment of 5 years, meaning right from 2020 you could had made serious profit from your investment than trading.
If a trader can not trade well and make same mistakes over time, it's a bad trader. Making trading mistakes in five years that are very long time possibly causes very big fund loss that can be an ending of that trader in trading career. You can lose all your money even within shorter period than five years if you are a very bad trader and has practice of using all money you have for trading.

It is risky to trade but if a person decides to go with trading, make sure knowing about stop loss order and actually use it in trading. It is very helpful for defending trading capital and reduce loss.

One of the best weapons in trading.

Whether they improved or not I would never in any way think of including them in my bet. Though, betting on them seems quite harmful to me because I almost got heart attack yesterday due to the way they were missed using their opportunities against Burley. Because had it been they utilize their opportunities very well yesterday, I think the game would have been an easy win for them. Even though this has master them in such a way that their winning normally happens by luck, which is very annoying because Man united is bigger than this.
A squad under development can have good improvement and starts to get better results but surely they won't be able to perform well and get good results too consistently. Inconsistency means it's very dangerous to bet on such squad's performances as their performances are quite unpredictable so are their match results.

An example in the last season is Chelsea that were under development and even they finished in top four, betting on Chelsea's matches last season is quite risky bet decision and this is even more risky to believe in Manchester United and bet on their matches. They are in a worse quality, performance and consistent situations than Chelsea.

As long we've realized and learn our lesson, I don't think it will happen again. It happened to me before, I thought that I can earn for a living through gambling after reading some articles about professional gamblers who make a lot of money through sports betting and playing poker. But trying it first hand is really different and you will understand more once you are losing, as the time goes by I realized that it's not for me and I can only play to past time but not alternative for to earn money.
You can do something for getting earnings only if it is potentially possible to earn it stably and the only thing is available for you is investment into something that has been proven as good investment assets like Gold, Bitcoin, and Stock index. Let's say, stock index can rise stably over long time and it is safer than a single stock asset that can fall considerably in price and even delisted or die with time.

Same with cryptocurrency market, there is only one asset there which is safest for investment and your fund, it's Bitcoin. If you want something more, choose Ethereum and perhaps one more as BNB or Dogecoin.

Why Dogecoin?
It's a Proof of Work altcoin.
It's widely accepted on online casinos.
It has been proven its survivalability over many years and market cycles.
It is a secured blockchain, see https://howmanyconfs.com/

Gambling is not a good option for earning stably and safely.

Casino always do these, these is why my self always trying to read term & condition. People said, no one gonna to read a long page.... I always make it a quick search like keyword "Withdraw" & "KYC"

These are 2 important information, and always found it under 30 second.
There are two possible places for searching and finding: Terms of Service (ToS) and FAQs. I have similar practice like you, and I would like to search quickly first with FAQs if a casino has that page for user, then I will check further with ToS.

With searching on two pages from FAQs to ToS, I can quickly and easily find necessary information about KYC, AML, deposit and withdrawal terms which are most important for my account, funds in it and which conditions I have to meet to withdraw my fund out of that casino successfully.

I think block size war is a contributing factor. If we account for all the contentious hard forks between 2015 and 2018, we will can trace vast majority to disagreement, particularly the case of block size limit.

To answer the question "What happened differently" I will simply say the Bitcoin ecosystem matured. The main tensions that caused forks have cooled off, and Bitcoin’s development has shifted toward incremental, backward-compatible upgrades, reducing the threat of contentious splits.
Disagreement is part of manipulation game if you notice what happened with Taproot upgrade in the last market cycle too. It was less severe than Segwit upgrade in 2017 but basically market manipulation game is the same.

If upgrade on Bitcoin protocol can be voted, aggreed easily and in short time, it will not cause any uncertainty in the market and people will not feel either panic or hyped. Market makers know how to trigger unstable emotion and weak psychology of market participants in order to accumulate cheap coins before they boost the price up and take profit in distribution phase.

During manipulation time, there are scammers who take advantage of chaotic time in order to create forks and steal bitcoins from unknowledgeable bitcoin owners.

I don't know why governments want to stick their noses into things they shouldn't They should worry about other things Just because we don't want to have fun isn't a government's problem. It reminds me of my country, where the rulers are corrupt thieves.

They don't have the right to ban anything related to casinos and cryptocurrencies these are companies that create jobs.
They do what they need to do for keeping up their existence, operation and they only try as best as they can to trace citizen activities including financial flows. Ewallets, bank transfers, e-tranfers, blockchain and transactions through blockchains can both make governments having more difficulties while if they can take advantage of available technologies, they can have more data of their citizens.

It's their responsibility and jobs so business companies including online casinos have to obey modern and newest regulations. People as users have to follow ToS and any KYC/AML requirements from online casinos and even more things that are not good for their privacy and anonymity.

Re: Emergency Access for Bitcoin Wallets – a Thought Experiment
by
OcTradism
on 30/08/2025, 02:27:52 UTC
Even the first thing in your list is already questionable. But perhaps if you change the "few days" into few months, it's better. Otherwise, you might be surprised your wealth is gone after a week-long retreat, vacation, adventure, pilgrimage, or whatever.

I can't wrap my head around the setup in which your funds are protected by private keys which you alone know and control and yet your trusted contacts may actually access those funds. Doesn't this setup imply another party that's actually in control of your funds? Or is this like a time-lock feature which the owner himself/herself initiated?

For me, it's probably enough that you write down your backup. In case of emergency, your family might have to turn the house upside down to look for it. If they fail, then perhaps your coins are meant to perish with you.
If there are automatic mechanism of assigning access to my bitcoin, Bitcoin private keys, wallets without me and my signature from my Bitcoin private key, I see it is extremely dangerous and I don't support any idea to develop it technically.

It should be ignored at the start rather than trying to develop it, test it with testnet and make the Bitcoin community separating. It will trigger another scam wave with many shitcoins created in names of Bitcoin forks while true Bitcoin users who understand about Bitcoin blockchain properly don't need this development and definitely don't need to have more scam Bitcoin forks.

  • You pick a handful of trusted contacts (friends/family).
  • If something happens and you can’t access your wallet, they can request access.
  • There’s a wait period (a few days?)—during that time, you could approve or deny. If you do nothing, access is automatically granted.
  • Ideally, it would preserve maximum security, so your keys aren’t exposed unnecessarily, but the funds are accessible to your trusted people.
bitcoins are safe in my non custodial and open source wallet and I am the only person is responsible for my bitcoin. No one can request access to my non custodial wallets, and there should be no automatically granted access to my wallets - that truly sucks.

You don't understand when writing "keys are not exposed but trusted people can access my bitcoin fund. They can not have acces if they don't have my bitcoin private keys.

"Not your keys, not your coins" is a famous saying and advice in Bitcoin.
I have my Bitcoin private keys, I have my bitcoins, and I don't want anyone to access it without my allowance and inheritance awarded to them.

Already did, sir. Minimum withdrawal is $20 USD or 17 EUROS for USDT, regardless of the network. I've tried all chains.

I forgot to mention that I already did the USDT withdrawal (BSC) twice a way back few hours ago.

It's just that I found the minimum withdrawal for USDT is a bit high (though CS told me that 10 EUROS is the minimum withdrawal).
I just wanted to ask that detail as you did not mention it in your post and that detail can be helpful for other guests in this announcement thread too.

Now, you confirmed that it is $20 minimum withdrawal for all blockchains, glad to know that, but it is what it is. Let's be ready to have at least $20 USDT for your withdrawal as it is the min figure for withdrawal request. It will be like this before the team do any change on this minimum withdrawal in the future for Casinopunkz.io users.

Bitcoin has become legal globally and has even been added to the strategic reserves of some countries. It has also become one of the top 10 assets in the world (at one point in the top 5) so it would be wrong to say that bitcoin is a high risk asset, that is no longer true.
It's not correct to say Bitcoin is ALREADY LEGAL GLOBALLY because you can easily see a fact that there are countries consider Bitcoin is Illegal or Alegal or Restricted.

It is true to say that Bitcoin adoption and its legal status have become bigger and better over years not it has yet reached to globally legal or legal tender.

The only challenge we need to face when investing in bitcoin these days is its volatility, bitcoin volatility is still considered greater than other traditional assets. That is why long term investing and DCA are always recommended for every investor. We will have almost no risk if we can hold it for a long time.
Volatility is beauty and attraction of the market and if a market has no volatility, it's more like a dead market or boring market that is not able to attract investors and traders.

on 28/08/2025, 05:07:20 UTC
Of course, if a government wants to stack Bitcoin, he should not be forbidden to do that. And there is also no way to do that, as long as Bitcoin is censorship resistant.

As long as the governments only stack and don't interfere with development policy, everything is okay, but we can't guarantee that will stay this way all the time.
Bitcoin blockchain is Proof of Work and owning more bitcoins does not make that Bitcoin holder has any power to affect, manipulate or distort Bitcoin technical development. The only possible impact is on the market with selling pressure that can trigger market panic sell, and price can be dumped in short term while in long term, people can realize that market dump from someone's sales even a big Bitcoin whale, is good opportunity to buy cheap bitcoins.

Do people many times hope that they can have a time-travelling machine in order to go back to the past and buy cheaper bitcoins?

It's ridiculous if in the present, they have chances and simply don't take advantage of such good opportunities and cheaper entries.
