Re: US Tariff Ruling N297495 = 2.6% mandatory tariff on bitcoin mining hardware

Just received another order from DHL with only 2.6% fees again. I don't know how it's getting by customs or what Bitmain is classifying them as. There is no indication of the HS code on any of my paperwork or invoices. My previous order had a sticker on the box that said server, so maybe Bitmain is classifying them under 8471.50 again.

Hey friend, I may be buying some of antminer ASICS soon.

I was wondering if DHL ever hit you up for the duty fees?

I really appreciate any info you might have!    Cool

Saw an ad for https://bitexplosion.io/   today.

Similar to ltcgear:

It posts no information regarding how they actually acquire revenue
Posts no information regarding mining facilities
Has a referral section to help them spiral recruits.

Guys be careful with this one, but post any good/bad experiences.  As of now it's been "public" for 5 days.

Is anybody using individual 220v surge protectors for the s7/s9s?   If so what are you using?

I am a little worried about trusting a 'whole home' surge protector because it's made more for big electronics (refridgerators/washer/dryer) than computers which may be more sensitive to spikes.

Gen1 shares are being discontinued? So, only 57 3k0 packs left if I am reading Beekeeper's post correctly.

Hmmm, what does this mean for multiplication on the 24th I wonder.

and.... what if people re-invest into shares?   I am guessing that he has some kind of calculation/reserve of Scrypt asic hashing to accommodate re-investers.  Otherwise he would have to just get rid of the option to buy shares and only allow payouts or conversions to GenII.

actually - I am not beating around the bush. I have not decided on whether or not I will keep any machines in stock for resale and that is an honest answer.

first - I have limited space to store them -..the simplest and most cost effective method is to simply pre-order. These machines are unlike any other type of inventory because they can make money for me (or anyone) by simply being turned on.

however I will talk to my business partner and discuss buying some extra units that we can put into production and earmark for resale at the advertised price and get back to you and post via this thread today.

regards

Thanks.

my website also has qty 1 2 3 5 and 10 also

great.

my point is that you could sell 200 more units before your shipment.

So I'm asking how you have physical plans for mining when you don't know how many miners you will have.

The reasons I ask, are because:

you are beating around the bush for some reason

I want to know if you will have miners for me to buy.

Where is local pickup at?

West Chester, Pa. USA!

I will pick up some when you have stock, if there isn't too much snow.  please let me know.

please define 'some' - I need to make plans and as it looks right now I probably won't stock any since I plan on putting everything I get into action mining.

when the cut off date is established for this first batch of orders I'll get in touch and if you want me to hold one or two I should be able to based on a small deposit.

thanks

snow....we shall see Smiley

Probably < 5 .

I'm having a hard time understanding how you are selling bundles of 25 miners, yet have physical plans to mine with all.   I know how much space/psus/AC is needed for these, that would be impossible to plan for if you don't know how many units you will get after pre-orders.

ok - thanks

I'm not sure where your came to understand that I'm selling "bundles of 25" - I don't believe I wrote than anywhere.

In terms of what will be available and when after the first batch that is currently unknown.

Size is 4U - PSU requirements have been posted.

your website has "bundles of 25", which you are accepting payment for.

http://shop.lifeforce.info/shop/astro-megatron-2500mh-2-5-ghs25-x-100-mhthe-biggest-the-baddest/

as you said "I probably won't stock any since I plan on putting everything I get into action mining", I wasn't sure how you know how many you will accommodate in your mining when you don't know how many you will have ordered.

 Thanks dood.

Great Promotion on ZEUS THUNDER X3 + [PRE-ORDER] GEN III Chip Blade*4 Package
....
-Gen III chips with much lower power and higher hashrate
-Much lower price and shipping cost than a new miner
-24/7 sustainable and sufficient hashing power
-Easy and user-friendly to install
-Heat sink not included in GEN III Chip Blade
Does this mean a Heat sink has to be purchased elsewhere?  Or is this going to use the existing Thunder's heat sink?!

Re: How to solo mine with A2 Mini (scrypt asic)
by
Saucy
on 20/09/2014, 01:23:07 UTC
Hi there, I have a new type mini terminator.
I can't get it to work.
The raspberry pi reports "no any A1 board"

I have an 850W PSU. I am only connecting 6 pin pcie
When I power up with the pcie and the atx plugs both connected the fans do not spin, they only work when only the atx cable is connected. I am able to find the web interface but I cannot get to mine, can anyone please help?

Here is a pic of the pi output, I assume it doesn't need plugged in as well, since it seems to be running?

https://www.dropbox.com/s/dubjloxwaf0n0ud/IMG_1251%5B2%5D.JPG?dl=0

Yes, you need to use a PSU with two of the 8pin EPS CPU cables just as the poster before me stated. I had the very same problem and it sure doesn't help that there isn't ANY Info available for it and Zoomhash was insistent that it used PCI-e Cables.  Once I was able to get a PSU w/ the 2 8pin CPU cables and a new IMG for the Rasberry Pi it worls great at around 35-37MH/s ....I had MANY wasted days not mining because Innosilicon hadn't given Zoomhash a copy of the Rasp Pi IMG and it wouldn't work using the old version A2 Mini as it uses More Chips per board.

Good luck to you!  Atleast it mines great and runs super cool once up and mining!

where did you get the image / can you share?

by

on 06/09/2014, 04:23:34 UTC
I'd like to try this image on my new A2 Mini I picked up at Zoomhash but can't figure out how to power the damn thing to get it mining!  The 2 "PCI-e" connectors seem to take 8 pin connectors but they are Keyed wrong and 8 pin pci-e won't fit and miner won't mine or start fans with 6 pins plugged in.  Only thing that seems to power up miner is if I use 2 of the 8 pin CPU power connectors from my PSU but with thagt only 1 side starts mining at ~18MH/s but cuts out and stops mining after 1-3 minutes (miner still running but not hashing).

If anyone has some info to help I would be Grateful!  Nice work on getting Overclock Image working btw Emdje and I'd try it out on the new A2's once I can get mine working at all

i agree, i wasn't 100% sure how to plug it, but i figured it out.   use 6 of the 8, and the 6 towards the middle.    the last 2 are purposely 'keyed wrong' so that you can't plug in the +2 I assume.

also plug in the big ATX power into the board that is far from your PCIE plugs.   that willl get you on and into raspberry pi.   then..... thus far no working image, which is what I'm looking for.  msg me if u get that!

It's 2x 6pin power to the ASIC.
Also Atx power to the board which is on top.   The Raspberry Pi is powered via the ASIC.

Does anybody have an image for this?   It seems like they are shipping from HK with a non-working A2 non-mini image.

Re: [ZeusMiner] GEN III MINER-VOLCANO Pre-order Now!!
by

I am looking at the previous Zeus pre-order right from their site which advertised:

Lightning @ 72-80mh/s  (actual is 40-44mh/s)

Thunder @ 36-40mh/s 480w (actual is 27-30mh/s, @ 920w)

were those pre-orders compensated somehow for the performance?

I ask because I am interested in the new pre-order, but pretty scary looking back.

I also noticed that the below has said it has "only 20 left" for at least 5 days, which I find unlikely (maybe just not updated):

hey guys, I spoke to zoomhash via chat today and they are taking care of the RMA.

Has anybody heard from anybody at ZoomHash this or last week?

I bought two X3 Thunders (arrived very quickly).  One runs for intervals of 1-12 hours before being pronounced DEAD/Sick; thus I believe is DOA.

When I ordered in July ~21st they were always online on the site during business hours if you do "Chat now", but they weren't there today, or any day last week.  Also they didn't pick up the toll-free #, also I e-mailed both Bob & Rich (late last week) for help with the broken machine, and haven't heard anything.

I am looking to sell my GPU miners, and maybe get a couple more units, but I am definitely afraid to order more w/out getting my one fixed & when it seems like they aren't working now.  Are they on vacation or something?

If they monitor here,

Bob, I e-mailed you on the 8th,
Rich, I e-mailed you on the 7th.

The chat-now feature had nobody there on the 6th,7th,8th, or today; the 11th; though the week I ordered & week after (when I needed help) they were ALWAYS there.

Thanks for any help that anybody can offer.

Saucy
