to be honest this type of thing is good and bad news for bitcoin. Whether we like it or not criminals are going to now move over to bitcoin bit criminals are still users of bitcoin, though obviously the general public will see this as a bad thing and it might scare them off. Still publicity at the end of the day.

Re: Selling Weather Betting Website - Weathbet.com
by

I think that you should auction the weather bet platform rather than selling it for a stable price. The platform looks solid an stable, I think that it mostly lacks marketing right now.

I think they tried that. It is quite a unique idea but I think a little too unique, though maybe that can be its selling point. 4btc seems quite cheap so I would agree with others and try get some investment for promotion on here or something. Maybe run a signature campaign which is good to get your business brand out there.

I watched this the other day and found it so overated. The long shots were cool but the ambiguous ending really killed it for me.

They were those ones (or something very similar with Air written down the side). I felt like such a baddass in them as a kid but they look pretty horrible now haha.

Seems they're re releasing them too http://www.nicekicks.com/2015/08/13/the-nike-air-more-uptempo-returns-in-a-big-way-next-year/

Re: Coca-Cola or Pepsi?

I prefer Pepsi. It also has much a little bit less sugar than Coca-Cola.

They're both full of sugar but coke does taste far more sugary to me and that's why I don't really like it. Can't drink any low sugar/zero/lite ones though as they taste horrible with all the artificial crap.

107 muslims Martyred till now Sad
It was a very sad incident in the history of Islam , Rip all the victims of Mecca..
There are very lucky seriously, they died in Holy Kaaba.

I don't know whether they consider deaths from building collapse as "martyrdom". Anyway, it was a sad incident. That said, I don't know why they allowed the worshipers inside the mosque, when the construction activity was ongoing.

Money.

Do they have to pay to get in?

Hope this sad accident won't affect people's faith in performing Hajj and Saudi goverment learn something valuable from this and be more careful..

Since when does death effect peoples faith. Normally the idiotically spin it into it was gods will or some crap.

Are you sure it's a good idea naming the accounts? Anyone could report them or try leave them negative feedback (if you list anything).

Re: [2015-08-22] Bank of England: Bitcoin is “Harder Money” than Gold Due to Deflati
by
Skinnyman
on 23/08/2015, 13:21:14 UTC
What do they mean by 'harder money' exactly? I think bitcoin being deflationary is one of its key features. Money should grow over time and be its own investment, not devalue every year like fiat does.

Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin
by
Skinnyman
on 23/08/2015, 13:19:13 UTC
i think the biggest problem about it is that its price goes up and down really often instead it would be better if the price would go only up Cheesy

Well it's that fluctuation that makes it a potentially good investment and I think it will go up and down for quite some time. If bitcoin hits the mainstream eventually though then it could keep rising and rising if enough people keep joining which would be cool hehe.

Re: If bitcoin ever goes mainstream

Really, for Bitcoin to go mainstream, it would have to be a lot more noob-friendly than it is now.
I honestly don't see my dad even using blockchain.info to pay for pizza or whatever.

Can your dad not use Paypal? PP isnt much different from blockchain.info. Besides, it doesn't matter about the older generation. They'll die off eventually but the younger generation are brought up understanding technology so it'll be far easier for them.

I think it will never go to the mainstream. It will be always like now the alternative for the mainstream currencies.

That's what they said about the internet and look where we are now.

New Poll Question: Which team will win England Premier League?

Voted Arsenal, along with some other gooner. Needless to say, I am a gooner myself, and so pleased we scraped a win today!  Also pleased Chelsea cunts lost to Shitty.

COYG!

Can't see Arsenal winning. They've played pretty poo so far. Third place again maybe. I think City will win based off the performance so far and Chelseas poor ones. Still only early days however.

Re: How many friends did you recommend bitcoin to? Did they accept it?

I've now recommend it tp a few but only one has got interested and involved, though I think he's only interested in it as a potential investment and money maker and doesn't really care about the tech or actually spending bitcoins but I guess that's better than nothing.

The best thing Mark could do would be to not open his mouth. Anything he says will likely just be used against him. Nobody is going to believe he just innocently 'tweaked' an account.

Re: Ebay Forbids Bitcoin for Payments
by

I can see why they don't want to accept it as an option as ebay likes to make sure the buyer is covered and this is not really possible with bitcoin, but people can pay with cheques or cash on collection right and that can just lead to problems too?

Re: What is holding Bitcoin back?
by
Skinnyman
on 04/07/2015, 14:43:41 UTC
the only reason that I can think of is the fact that it is not yet reached the mass acceptance level. and sometimes the bad news spreads a bad face for bitcoin.

It's a mixture of this as in there's not many places to spend it and not many people willing to spend it. For the average citizen bitcoin won't really interest them at the moment which is sad. Maybe it will take some sort of financial crisis for people to realize.

Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020?
by
Skinnyman
on 17/06/2015, 17:55:10 UTC
It is my goal to get 100 bitcoins then hodl for between 3-5-10 years. I just hope bitcoin stays low enough for a couple of years so I can get as many as I cam.

You need 800 coins. See the discussion here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=946938.0 . Depending on your assumptions about the future, you might need as little as 8 coins. But why take the risk? :-)

Interesting read, but personally I think someone would need more. I guess it depends how long someone is willing to wait for bitcoin to hit the mainstream (if that happens).

Re: [2015-06-17] 99Bitcoins Bitcoin on the rise as “Grexit” fears mount
by

on 17/06/2015, 17:50:11 UTC
his marks one of the best runs in recent memory and appears to have been spurred by increasing worries over a Greek exit, or “Grexit” as it’s sometimes called.

I'm not convinced it has anything to do with this. People always seem to look for some economical reason in the real world like this when bitcoin spikes, though I think people sometimes believe it to be the case so buy more thinking this time it's going to moon which then obviosuly has a knock on effect so it ends up being a self-fulfilling prophecy lol.

So what's everyone predicting for tomorrow's Champions League clash? Barca are obviously favorites but I could see it being closer than people think. Perhaps 1-1 but with Barca to take it at some point in extra time.

Re: The Biggest Misconceptions About Bitcoin
by
Skinnyman
on 05/06/2015, 11:05:41 UTC
Many of the people where I work have little to no idea of what Bitcoin is, a few mention ah yes I saw that on the news a while ago but not quite remembering anything else about it.  I got interested in Bitcoin quite late on when the price was up towards the $1k mark and it was on the news quite a bit, this peaked my interest and after looking into it more found out about the tech and the benefits and it introduced me to a whole new world.

I think people just need something to peak their interest, grab their attention and give them that little push to find out about Bitcoin and get past some of the negative info out there.

No one where I work has ever heard of Bitcoin, and I know a guy that works in the banking world and few have heard about it. We are still a small group of enthusiasts and pioneers. The average folk has a lot of catching up to do to get on our level, and we'll sooner or later be rewarded.

I'm in the same situation. Most people I encounter still haven't even heard of it but those that haven't will over time. It may take some more time for them to see the benefits of it but they will eventually. Maybe they'll regret it as well if the price of btc is significantly higher than it is today.
