[ANN] WoofCoin / New Coin [WOFC] GPU Mining/PoW
by

WOOF COIN

Since the beginning of the pandemic, pet surrendering rates have increased dramatically around the world. Waitlists for surrendering household pets have increased to a remarkable eight months as animal shelters and welfare organisations have seen an increase of 34% for animals needing help.

Typically, animal shelters are under resourced and under financed; relying heavily on donations and the volunteer efforts to assist animals.

This is where Woof Coin steps in. As avid lovers of dogs, we wanted to make a difference. Using the power of Proof of Work mining, we’ve created a coin where miners are contributing to the donation of money to animal welfare shelters. These shelters initially include the ASPCA who already have a cryptocurrency donation mechanism but with intention to expand to the RSPCA and other organizations suggested by the community.

Our aim is to put animals first and we intend on developing ongoing relationships with pet shelters to help adoption.

Coins Specifications
21 billion supply
Block 2,100,000 halving (4 years estimated)

Re: Why Litecoin is dying!
by
Sleeping_Mouse
on 29/01/2018, 07:51:19 UTC
Lets first analyze Litecoin. It is different from Bitcoin in 3 major ways. It runs under a different algorithm, the block speed is much faster, but the network power is not as strong as the one of bitcoin. Back in the good ol days Litecoin was peaking at $45, but what happened now? The simplest explanation is that the hype died. Litecoin was hyped to be ASIC resistant with it’s Scrypt mining algorithm and because the confirmation arrive much faster it seemed like an improvement upon bitcoin. However, we have since seen the release of the GridSeed which is an ASIC miner for litecoin. The release of the ASIC miner ruins the hype that litecoin is in fact ASIC resistant because GridSeed proves otherwise.

The other hype that surrounded litecoin was it’s faster transaction speeds and how it must be a better network. Wrong, just because a block can be solved faster and the confirmations arrive faster does not mean that the network is faster. Think of it this way, litecoin’s blocks take 2.5 minutes to be solved on average, and bitcoin blocks take 10 minutes to be solved. So in other words, 4 litecoin confirmations = 1 bitcoin confirmation security wise. So just because a confirmation arrived earlier does not mean that the transaction is just as secure as that of a longer arriving confirmation (hope that made sense).

So since litecoin is not asic proof and faster transaction speeds do not equal the same security, the hype has died. There is no real use for litecoin now because it is just another version of bitcoin with a few differences. It falls in the category of all the other litecoins which do not have any significant difference or improvements.

How can you possibly believe that an article from 2014 is relevant to describe the current situation for LTC. Original article can be found at: https://themerkle.com/why-is-litecoin-dying/

LTC has been through many phases of growth and stagnation since, none of them necessarily indicated LTC was dying, nor does the current phase.
Litecoin has been around the block a few times and still has an army of supporters and an established development team.
Future growth for litecoin depends on the adoption for it and on the success of Bitcoin.
If Litecoin manages to be adopted by different vendors, it can fly again. In absence of great news, it will slowly decrease.

That said, the competition for LTC has increased this year, so there is a chance that LTC will start to decline from now on.

That's unpredictable. It will happen when there is a prolonged slowdown in the growth of BTC, encouraging BTC holders to try find profit in different areas.

Re: Stabilization on the cryptocurrency market?
by

on 15/11/2017, 15:58:51 UTC
Bitcoin Cash fork happened. The fuss around the growth of this coin finished. And what we see — top-5 of cryptocurrencies including BTC, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ripple and Litecoin shows their growth.
Does it mean that we will not see any shocking changes on the market this year? Hope, yes.

We won't see instant changes maybe, but we'll see stable growth from the market. On last Sunday, the market cap went down to $198 B and now it's above $220 B. This is almost 20% gain compared to 2-3 days ago. This is huge in difference.

Stabilization is not that possible because, even, the stock markets are keep growing high. Check Dow Jones.
Sure. Nothing stabilization. We wait CME, we wait some more events. And today you see that BTC growth again. What stabilization you say? Volatility is simply giant. But wait and buy right crypto!

this movement will not last forever,
what he said 'stabilization' mean is the price moving sideways,
so i believe in the next few months later or in early 2018ish we should see the price stabilize.
due to exhaust and alternative coin pump,
just remember there'll be a time for this run to stop and moving sideway to control the market.
it's like a few years ago if i remember it correctly,
and every year they're always did it

Yes, but next year big money has more options to play on the market. So, it could make bitcoin either more or less volatile.
Both of those effects could effect the marketcap negative or positive, depending on who's most invested in what scenario.

Re: Will Bitcoin Cash replace Bitcoin??
by
Sleeping_Mouse
on 12/11/2017, 10:58:51 UTC

It is possible, but not without a lot of improvement in adoption for Bitcoin Cash.
The moment that Bitcoin cash is the default platform for transactions (not just speculative) is the moment that they truly have momentum to gain the spotlight.

This is not today, but it cannot be denied that they do have a lot of capital and potential, so do not deny the possibility of it happening when BTC is not alert.

Never base your decisions purely on fear..
I wouldn't recommend making quick decisions, because that way I personally tend to lose money.

Re: All coins are now dying, what do you think?
by

The market is facing some stress, especially with the spotlight as heavy focussed on bitcoin as lately
(and a big chunk of the market just chasing the latest fad)

The market is not dead though; on the day of the segwitx news, the markets immediately jumped 20%.
This wouldn't happen if people didn't see the altcoins as a viable investment.

I'm even convinced that some of the bigger altcoins could actually become big winners in this drama.

Re: Is bitcoin cash the new real bitcoin? time to buy?
by

on 10/11/2017, 14:05:01 UTC

Currently, it looks doubtful. However, if bitcoin cash would succeed in tackling some of the problems that have been paralizing bitcoin, it is possible that the market changes radically.
At the moment this is only speculation, though.

If you carefully pick your investments, you can make money in a difficult market.
The statement that bitcoin will just increase without hickups or depressions is highly speculative and unproven: this said, there are several altcoins that outperformed bitcoin this year or last year.
So, it's possible to make profit with a longer investment window.

I'm not sure what happened to you, but...

1) the rules have been changed; if you don't post, you will not be eligible for that week's airdrop, but you should be able to apply for the next week

2) The developers create the coin, so they have the right to determine the rules they use in giving away their product.
They could ask money in return for them, or in this case, loyalty and assistance in promoting the coin, I don't see a problem with that.

by
Sleeping_Mouse

Certainly not litecoin, I don't see a bright future for that coin in the long-term .

Assuming you have at least that amount of Bitcoins still fixed,
I would have some Ethereum, Monero, ZCash, VertCoin, and depending on how open to risk you are,
fill the rest with a small investment of a lot smaller coins, you're betting on the long-term anyway.

You can gain money in bitcoin in trading too (or in other crypto), but that requires time, skill and luck.

Novaexchange seems very buggy but  I managed to buy some onion today, hoping that in the future I can apply for airdrops! I'm a new investor.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but unless you have a different account on bitcointalk, you are currently not qualified to enter the airdrop.

You need to be minimum junior member here: activity higher than 30 and have a registered account older than 2017/10/1.

Don't dispair though, if you spend a little effort, it's quite likely you can join the airdrop in two or so months.

Hi Natalia.

I started becoming interested in crypto because it was a hype around 2014 (when the bitcoin first went over 100$) and I had some colleages that were discussing their profits (they picked them up in the very very beginning) , quickly followed by bitcoin crossing 1000$ and crashing subsequently. I picked some up after the crash, mostly for novelty's sake, and unfortunately wasted them later on online shopping. It was only with the arrival of eth that I started in full earnest, studying the technology and eventually setting up my own mining ridge.

Currently, I use bitcoin/crypto mostly as a supplemental (at least when counting in time) way to gain money and hopefully attain financial independence, and as a way to diversify my assets.

Re: Working Abroad is a lot of sacrifice.
by
Sleeping_Mouse
on 28/10/2017, 13:22:15 UTC
Hey guys,I just wanted to share some tips when you are planning to work outside your country or if you wanted to work abroad.
First you need to know things about the country you are planning to go or work.Knowing their cultures and tradition will help you a lot when you are already there.
Second is to know the rules of your target country. Some country especially in middle East have very strict rules and  if you guys come from an open city then u have to adjust a lot in their rules.
Third and most important is be mentally, emotionally and physically prefered.,you will come there to work. You need to sacrifice a lot of things and even your family. As for my experience homesickness is very hard to beat especially when you are used to do things with your love ones like celebrating ocassions. Here you will celebrate those days alone.
So if you guys have other tips on working abroad please comment here and share your thoughts.
I hope this topic can help people who wanted to go to other country for work.I wish you goodluck guys.!

I completely understand. After moving to Asia from Europe I didn't only have a lot of difficulties adapting to the local culture (actually still have this problem), but it was really hard on me when there were problems in the family and i wasn't able to go immediately back home to support them, and when I was finally able to go back, I still could only stay for a short while and felt I wasn't able to fully support them.

Re: How can you avoid to be scammed by hyip investment of bitcoins?
by
Sleeping_Mouse
on 26/10/2017, 16:08:23 UTC

You can look for a project with a long-term sustainable roadmap that actually delivers on that roadmap,
that way you're still not 100% certain, but at least you will force the scammers to do a lot more work to get to your money.

The other approach is risk mitigation: invest your money in different projects that you closely monitor, you cannot completely avoid risk, but spreading makes the impact smaller.

I am pretty sure you require at least junior member status to be able to change your signature in a meaningful way
(which is why most campaigns will not give anything to newbies, unless you help them in other ways)

and even then, people with higher status will get better rewards.

Re: total ico noob question ..what will a ico token be like in 10 years 24-10-2027
by
Sleeping_Mouse
on 25/10/2017, 16:20:31 UTC

most of the ICO's are either scams or projects looking for Venture Capital.

Therefore, the chance of them failing is reasonably high, how high exactly is hard to estimate since they are a very recent phenomenon,
so, things that increase chances of success are:

- a well-designed roadmap that has dead-lines that are actually being delivered (and can be verified) and clear reasons for
- a sensible idea that is achievable (preferably coupled with clear plans to become and remain profitable not involving magic or other investors) and that provides value
- well-known people on the team (since this guarantees better access to more conventional sources of funding for them if necessary)
- preferably also a team that emphasizes informing investors and potential customers
